Funeral Services for Mary Joy Wylie Jopes, age 86 of Picayune, MS, who passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church, Picayune, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home. Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home. Rev. Greg Ducker will officiate the service. Mary Joy was born in Macon, MS, on September 1, 1936, to Davis G. and Stella Gully Wylie. Her family moved to Picayune in 1941 and she graduated from Picayune Memorial High School in 1954. She was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell Emerson Jopes and her parents, Davis G. and Stella Gully Wylie. Survivors include: her children Paul W. Cooper and wife Roxie, Anna Cooper Cash and husband Steve, Amy Cooper Frierson and husband Randy, Samuel C. Jopes and wife Linda, Lisa Jopes Subat and husband Steve; her grandchildren, Melissa Cooper Powell (Adam), Stephanie Cash Rye, Shannan Cash Duke (Mike), Sean Cash (Keri), Joy Cash (James), Julie Cash Pittman, Jennifer Cash (Drew), Jordan Cash, Joshua Frierson (Morgan), Kristen Frierson Feeback (Jesse), Jennifer Jopes Cacioppo (Scott), Emily Jopes Hickman (Micah), Lydia Subat and Claire Subat; her great-grandchildren, Hallie, Trenton,Della, Abby, Courtney, Matthew, Conner, Miriam, Jack, Aiden, Emori, Knox, Cooper, Clara Joy, Leah, Carsyn, Ally, Anna, Hayes, Remi, Seth, Adalyn, and Wyatt; her brother, Jack G. Wylie (Carolyn), numerous nieces and nephews. She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a member of First United Methodist Church in Picayune.
