Age - 92
December 2, 2023
Audrey Faye Fraser, 92 of Memphis, Tennessee, beloved wife and mother, and "Nana/Grandma" to many around the country, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2023. Audrey was born in Saginaw, Michigan, June 22, 1931, to John Earl and Lillian Zwack Stavely. After her mother's passing, Audrey, at age 16, took on the responsibility of raising her siblings. She married her first husband, Donald E. Beyersdorf in 1949, who unexpectedly passed on December 23, 1969. She later met Joseph P. Fraser and they were married May 7, 1971, when she began her adventure as a Navy wife. She loved seeing different parts of the country and made so many friends along the way. She loved children so much that she began a child care business, continuing to care for children, including grandchildren, until later in her life, when she finally retired. Joe and Audrey settled in Memphis in 1982, retiring from the Navy in 1985. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church for 37 years; and in true "Audrey" fashion, ran the church nursery for many years. Audrey loved a good crossword puzzle and enjoyed a great movie. Her favorite movie was "Somewhere in Time," highlighting her beloved home state of Michigan. Her beautiful and free spirit made her friend to all, and the life of every party. She loved music, especially Polka and Big Band, and enjoyed "dance parties" in the living room with grandchildren. She loved getting together with others as much as possible, and her laugh was infectious, and she laughed a lot! She was so loved, and will be very missed, by her family and friends. She leaves her husband of 52 years, Joseph (Joe) Fraser of Memphis, Tennessee, four sons, John (Nancy) Beyersdorf of Saginaw, Michigan, James (Diana) Beyersdorf of Munford, Tennessee, Allen (Lisa) Beyersdorf of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Bruce (Michele) Beyersdorf of Atoka, Tennessee, along with 15 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Audrey was predeceased by her son, Edward Beyersdorf and daughter, Susan Beyersdorf Lloyd; along with her siblings, Wallace Stavely, Nila Stavely Najawicz, Warren Stavely, Kathleen Stavely Drake, and Nancy Stavely Goodall. To celebrate her full life, family will receive friends December 6, 2023 at 10:00 - 11:00 a. m. , with service to follow, at 11:00 a. m. Messiah Lutheran Church, 3743 Austin Peay Highway, Memphis, TN 38128. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.Show more
