Mary Herron Obituary

Mary Lou Herron: 71 years old of McHenry, IL passed away unexpectedly Friday April 21, 2023, in Bristol, WI. She was born March 15, 1952, in Woodstock, IL the daughter of the late Albert and Marie (nee Barton) Oonk, living in Ringwood, IL before settling in McHenry, IL. Before her retirement, Mary owned and operated a home daycare for over 20 years, later working for Head Start, McHenry, IL and Bright Horizons, Crystal Lake, IL. Mary enjoyed: making crafts, traveling, camping, dining out, and trips to the casino. She loved her grandchildren and loved to cook and bake with them and watch their sporting events. Survivors include: three children: Jennifer (Mark) Evins of Round Lake Beach, IL, Josh (Serenity) Jensen of Johnsburg, IL, and Sirianna Herron of Crystal Lake, IL; twelve grandchildren: Erin, Kiersten (Dakota), Morgin, Matthew (Celine), Laurin, Madison, Jacob, Olivia and Marty (Nadine); four great-grandchildren: Jaydin, Masin, Maylene, and Savannah; her significant other Kerry Epstein of Bristol, WI; three sisters: Trudy (Dale) Medendorp of Crystal Lake, IL, Lillian Mullen of Tomahawk, WI, and Deanna Graham of McCullum Lake, IL; dear friend Lucy Palumbo of McHenry, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by two husbands: David Miller and Raymond Herron and two brothers: Larry and Irvin. Visitation will be held from 4PM until 7PM Thursday April 27, 2023, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) Antioch, IL 60002, with Memorial Services commencing at 7PM.
