Williamsport - Mary E. (Parker) Gremore, 101, Williamsport, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 7:10 a. m. with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Mary was born in Russellville, Indiana on January 19, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rose (Pullium) Parker. She was raised in Covington, graduating from Covington High School in 1939. Following her marriage to C. Ray Gremore on December 22, 1946, Mary moved to Attica and raised her family. She and her husband later moved to Lafayette and following Ray's retirement, moved to Williamsport in the early 1980's. Mary worked as a secretary for the Fountain County Extension Office in Covington for several years. She later worked at the Sears Catalog Store in Attica and after raising her family and moving to Lafayette, began working for National Homes. She was a member of the Attica Christian Church, where she was baptized in October of 1954. She had been attending the Williamsport Christian Church and more recently attending the New Hope Chapel in Wingate. Mary enjoyed playing golf, bowling and playing cards. Her greatest pleasure was being with her family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, C. Ray Gremore on June 12, 2003. Mary leaves behind her three children, Ron R. (Kim) Gremore, Lexington, SC; Sandra Sue (Duane) Mycroft, Williamsport and Peggy Lee (Robert) Mathews, Aiken, SC; four grandchildren, Janelle (Tom) Lloyd, Brian (Christy) Mycroft, Ryan (Angie) Gremore and Laura (Tony) Thirtle; two step grandchildren, Kristen (Andy) Yoon and Michael (Eve) Wayman; ten great-grandchildren, Austin Lloyd, Phillip Mycroft, Gabe Mycroft, Nolan Lloyd, Lauren Lloyd, Marianne Mycroft, Aubri Gremore, Sydney Gremore, Parker Gremore and Emerson Thirtle; two step great-grandsons, John Galati and Isaac Wayman. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Mathews; a great-granddaughter, Heather Lloyd; a sister, Thelma Powell and three brothers, Elmo, Orville and Forest Parker. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, September 17th, from 12:00 p. m. until service time at 2:00 p. m. with Pastor Duane Mycroft, Ron Gremore and Pastor Jesse Stoner officiating. Lyle R. Wesley Attica - Lyle Richard "Rick" Wesley, 67, Attica, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of the Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 2:53 p. m. Rick, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Williamsport Community Hospital on May 26, 1956. He was the son of the late Lawrence and Donna (Beasley) Wesley. He was raised in Warren County near Hetrick and attended Seeger Memorial High School. He moved to Attica in 2007. Rick formerly worked at Harrison Steel Castings Company and Myers Steel Fabricating Company in Attica. His most recent workplace was with TMF in Williamsport, retiring as a result of failing health. Rick loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rick married Pamela Faye Dowell on May 21, 1992 in Attica. He leaves behind his wife, Pamela of 31 years along with a son, Jeremiah Wesley, Crawfordsville and a daughter, Brandi Wesley, Marshfield; two step-daughters, Rachel (Carl Reichold) Turner, Goshen, IN and Jennifer Turner, Frankfort, IN; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Katherine (Jerry) Sabino, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Wesley and a granddaughter. As per Rick's request, cremation services were accorded him with no formal service planned. Hillsboro - Euna Mildred (Graham) Clevenger, 89, Hillsboro, passed away in the I. U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 12:25 a. m. Mildred, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Galatia, Illinois on April 20, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Derice and Bessie (Holland) Graham. She was raised and educated in the Galatia, Illinois area and later moved to Hillsboro, Indiana in 1994. Mildred worked some outside the home, but prided herself as a stay-at-home mother. She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church in Covington. Her pastimes included fishing, bowling on several women's leagues, camping and being with her family, especially the card games that were played on Friday nights. Mildred married William Floyd Clevenger on July 5, 1952 in Shawneetown, Illinois. Her husband preceded her in death on July 17, 1998. Mildred leaves behind two sons, John D. (Donna) Clevenger, Veedersburg and Kevin (Cindy) Clevenger, Attica; a nephew, who was like a son to her and helped care for her, Frank (Betty) Clevenger, Hillsboro; 13 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; 14 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 grandsons; 2 great-grandsons; 9 brothers, which included her twin brother and a sister. Attica- Beverly "Bev" Rosa (Borst) Brown, 76, Attica, passed away in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 12:50 p. m. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center and Guardian Angel Hospice fo their care of Beverly. Bev was born on September 7, 1947 in the Community Hospital, Williamsport, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Louis Harvey and Hazel Jeanette (Babcock) Borst. Bev married David Leroy Brown in the Attica First United Methodist Church on February 26, 1972. Following her graduation from Attica High School in 1966, Bev attended Purdue University part time while working full time as an operator at the Indiana Bell Telephone Company. In 1972, she became an engineering technical clerk for Ameritech, working in Crawfordsville. Starting in 1983, Bev also worked as a part time real estate agent at Zollars Realty. She retired from AT&T in 1995. In 1994, Bev had formed her own real estate agency, Brown Realty, and worked as principal broker, with her husband, David, as real estate sales agent. In 2014, Bev and David retired. Bev loved her hometown of Attica and was actively involved in many community organizations and local projects. Throughout her life Bev attended the Attica First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Friends of the Attica Public Library and worked to save the E. M. Viquesney Doughboy Statue at the Attica Public Library as well as the Old Cannon at the Attica Riverside Cemetery. In addition, Bev and her husband, David bought the disbanded First Church of Christ Scientist, to save it from being demolished. Bev and David later sold the church to designer, John Cottrell, who renamed the church "the Old Church" and it became part of the Cottrell Village. Bev enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She liked to travel, crochet, bake, care for her dog, Captain January and their cats, Pretty Kitty, Twinkle and Little Star. Bev was generous, kind and cheerful. Our family will forever cherish the wonderful memories of being with Bev. Bev leaves behind her loving husband, David of 51 years. Her brother, Lance Borst; her sisters, Brenda Hart, Betty Guerrero and Bella Daugherty; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bonita Borst and a brother, Louis Borst. Attica - Barbara Jane (Shoaf) Black, 64, Attica, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of the I. U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Indiana on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 7:07 p. m. Barbara was born in Williamsport, Indiana on February 4, 1959. She was the daughter of the late Jerry David and Helen Jeannine (Jernagan) Shoaf. Barbara was raised in Williamsport and graduated from Seeger Memorial High School in 1977. She attended Ivy Tech in Lafayette. Barbara formerly worked at Wabash National in Lafayette for 7 years and later for Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica for 11 years. She was known for her cooking ability by cooking at various restaurants in Attica. Barbara enjoyed gardening and canning. Her favorite pastime was the time spent with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed her weekend rides on the Harley-Davidson with her husband, Walter. She was an avid Purdue sports fan. On June 17, 1991, Barbara married Walter M. Black in Henderson, KY. Barbara leaves behind her husband, Walter of 32 years along with four children, Shannon (Andrew) Jenkins, Williamsport; Tiffany (fiance-D. J. Wray) Howard, Terre Haute; David Wilson, Williamsport and Zach (Renee) Black, Fishers, IN; a grandson, who was raised in the home, Xayden Wilson; a sister, Melinda (Robert) Bradbury, Pine Village; two brothers, Jerry (Sheryl) Shoaf, Jr. , Williamsport and Thomas (Tammy) Shoaf, Williamsport; twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, September 19th, from 5:00 p. m. until the funeral service at 8:00 p. m.
