My Gram taught me a lot of things about the important things in life and I don't think she even knew she was doing it. Love and the Importance of Family; She married my Grandfather, and created a beautiful life for themselves. Four children and nine grand babies later, through both love and loss, we are all still around with love and respect for one another and together through the end of it. Kindness and Class; If anything, my Grandmother was the epitome of class. Always put together and always a lady, she was forever kind and warm-hearted with nothing but positively gracious words about all things, even tattoos, bad hair and jewelry on boys. Loyalty and Friendship; Not only was Grandpa the greatest love of her life, her best friend of seventy three years held her hand until the day she passed. She had known another person since her early adulthood and remained that person's Parter-In-Crime for over seven decades. Flexibility and Composure; This last one hadn't hit me until her last few days with us, however her calm demeanor and her no-fuss attitude was very apparent amongst every single one of her children and even grandchildren. Emotions ran their course, but our last days with her were, for the most part, peaceful and still. Although the way she left this life may not have been how any of us had planned, I like to think it ended up being exactly what we all needed. Her entire family in one little room, holding hands, saying the Lord's Prayer, able to say "I Love You" one last time. -Ashley Resar
