Mary Darlene Farley, age 79 of Knoxville, TN went to be with her Lord and Jesus Christ our savior on Saturday, June 11, 2022. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She had struggled with Addison Disease for 38 years. Mary was a graduate of York Institute High School Class of 1960 and attended TN School of Beauty in Oak Ridge, TN. This is where she met her husband, Fred Farley. After being a hair dresser for several years, she decided to become a full-time homemaker so she could devote all her time, love, and attention to her children. In her spare time, she loved cooking, taking care of her flowers, and growing vegetables in her garden. But most of all, she loved taking care of her grandbabies. She will always be remembered for being a compassionate person who had encouraging words for those around her and being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Knoxville, TN. Preceded in death by her parents, James "Caster" and Nova Beaty. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Fred Farley; siblings, Chestine Farr and Gail Voiles; children, Kelvin Farley, Karen (Kenny) Newman, and Kirk Farley; grandchildren, Calvin Farley, Courtney Farley, Kyle (Morgan) Newman, Kayla (Mason) Bates, Kaitlyn Newman, Matthew Farley and Emily Farley; and great-grandchildren, Lenny and Eli Farley. There will be no services. Immediate family will have a private gathering at a later date.
