Corbi "Pegi" (nee Grosso) 85 of Washington Township, passed peacefully surrounded by family on November 10, 2023. Wonderful mother of Paula Corbi, Vincent and Elaine Corbi. Loving and proud Mom-Mom to Vincent(Ashley), Nicholas (Courtney), and Christina. Beloved wife of the late Vince Corbi. Devoted daughter to the late Thomas and Agnes Grosso. Pegi was born in Philadelphia on November 12, 1937 to Thomas and Agnes Grosso whom she wholeheartedly loved and adored. Being an only child, she was their world. She graduated from John Bartram High School in 1955 and was voted Class Wit aka Class Clown by her peers. Making people laugh along with her contagious smile and witty sense of humor were some of her best attributes. Upon graduation, she first worked at Bell Telephone and then at General Electric. Pegi was a great dancer and loved to jitterbug, especially with her lifelong best friend Barbara "Dearest. " Their shared passion of music, namely cool jazz, brought Pegi and Vince together. They married in 1962 and soon started a family in South Philadelphia before moving across the bridge to New Jersey. Pegi liked to entertain and her house was always open to family, friends and her children's friends. She loved to cook and feed people. Homemade cheesecake was one of her specialties and her crab gravy was the best ever. Later in life when she minded her grandchildren she honed in on her short order cooking skills. Her enthusiasm for music was boundless. Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, Tony Bennett, and Frank Sinatra were just a few of her favorite artists. She knew the lyrics to so many songs and had a beautiful singing voice. Going to musicals, the opera and seeing Ricardo Muti conduct the Philadelphia Orchestra were some of her favorite pastimes. She enjoyed going to the shore and watching the sunset at Cape May Point. Pegi has always been a fan of baseball, Eddie Matthews being one of her favorite players. She would take Vinnie, Paula and their friends to Phillies' games when they were young and ultimately became a big fan of Jimmy Rollins. Watching the Kentucky Derby was a must no matter where she was on that first Saturday in May. Rooting on her kids and then her grandkids at their many sporting events was something she cherished. But more than anything, Pegi's deep love and commitment for her family took precedence over everything and everyone. She was always there for her parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren and would selflessly cancel her plans to help them in any way when needed. They were her pride and joy in life. Our beautiful mother, grandmother, and friend will be immensely missed but she would want us to continue laughing and enjoying life. We love you dearly and you will forever live on in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd. , Washington Twp. At 11:00 AM there will be a time for sharing thoughts, memories, prayers, and love offered by the family The family would like to express our thanks for the compassionate care and support given by Samaritan Hospice. In lieu of flowers , friends may make memorial contributions to Samaritan Hospice by going on their website or mailed to Samaritan's Gift Processing Center, P. O.
