Mary Arnold Obituary

Mary Jo Arnold, 86, of Houstonia, MO, died Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, MO with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 6:00 p. m. to 7:30 p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to family choice and an online guestbook is available at www. campbell-lewis. com Born January 22, 1937, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late George F. Henley Sr. and Maude Emeline DeHaven Henley. On August 27, 1955, she married Glenn Arnold who preceded her in death on December 12, 1991. She lived in the Sweet Springs and Houstonia areas her entire life and was a member of First Christian Church in Sweet Springs. Mary Jo worked as a cook at Sweet Springs R-7 High School for 30 years until she retired. Following her retirement she then worked at Brownsville Station. Survivors include two children, Rick Arnold (Lonna) of rural Houstonia and Glenda Arnold of Houstonia; eight grandchildren: Casey, Charity, Tiffany, Tanya, Michele, Chaz, Torie and Alan; two step granddaughters, 18 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, David Alan Arnold; one brother, George F. "Junior" Henley; and one sister, Maude Irene Kirchhoff.
