Funeral services for Mary Boone Adcock of Leland were held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday, September 2 at First Baptist Church, Leland. She died Wednesday, August 30 at Magnolia Gardens, Greenville. Graveside services were in the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Boone Funeral Home. Mary was born March 13, 1935, the third daughter of Mary and Earl Lee of Ludlow, Mississippi. She graduated from high school in Ludlow and afterwards from Mississippi College with a degree in elementary education. She moved to Leland to begin her teaching career and met and married G. W. "Pat" King in 1958. Pat preceded her in death in 1965, eight days after the birth of their 4th child. Mary married W. J. "Billy" Boone in 1967, and he preceded her in death in 1998. Mary married McKea "Mac" Adcock in 2002, and he preceded her in death in 2021. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Neva Jo Lee Martin in 1993. Mary was a member of the Leland Junior Auxiliary, Leland Deer Creek Garden Club, and First Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Abbie Rogers Civitan Camp for many years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and will be missed by many. Survivors include a daughter, Kay King Boone of Leland; 4 sons, George King (Lisa) of Chatham, Mark King (Cindy) of Leland, Earl King (Lorry) of Madison, and Bill Boone (Rebecca) of Hampton Cove, Alabama; a sister, Peggy Lee Allen of Little Rock, Arkansas; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. In the presence of God and with two of his granddaughters by his side, Paul Fratesi of Indianola, Mississippi, died peacefully of natural causes on December 2, 2023. He was 91 years old. The youngest child of Pacifico and Amelia Fratesi, Paul was born on August 10, 1932, in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and moved to Indianola as a young boy. He graduated from Indianola High School, served honorably in the U. S. Army, and returned to Indianola to farm. It was there that he met, dated, and on August 10, 1955, married his loving wife of 68 years, Conchetta Columbus Fratesi. A master welder, Paul had a quick mind and a gift for building and repairing agricultural implements. Seeing the need for a machine shop in Indianola, Paul and Conchetta opened Indianola Metal Company, Inc. in the mid-1970s. Over the next three decades, the couple transformed the business from a local repair facility to a successful manufacturing concern producing and selling implements and machinery used in aquaculture and production agriculture throughout the Mid-South and beyond. In retirement Paul and Conchetta traveled extensively, both domestically and abroad. Through their travels, the couple discovered that they most enjoyed the "beach life" and owned a home on the Alabama Gulf Coast where they spent many happy years. A devout Catholic, Paul was active in the Immaculate Conception parish in Indianola. He was devoted to his family, and delighted in spending time with his children - and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly knew him as their "Pop Pop. " He will be deeply missed and always remembered. Paul is survived by his wife, Conchetta, and five children, Paula Henke (Kurt), Gary Fratesi (Cathy), Cyndi Tyner (Tommy), David Fratesi (Tracy), and Amelia Dawson (Jimbo), as well as nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at 9:00 a. m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Indianola with a funeral mass following at 10:00 a. m. , and internment thereafter at the Indianola Cemetery. Funeral services for Thomas Howard "Boots" Nelson, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a. m. , Monday, October 30, 2023 at Avon Methodist Church. He died Saturday, October 28 at his home. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. Boots was born on April 13, 1929 in South Washington County in what was Leota, MS and was a lifelong resident of Chatham, MS. He attended Mississippi State University where he studied Engineering. His education was interrupted, when he elected to serve his Country in the United States Air Force. Upon the sudden death of his older brother, Elmo, Boots returned to the family farm in Chatham in 1956 and built a very successful farming operation and raised a beautiful family. Professionally, Boots also served many years on the Board of Directors for Production Credit Association and First South Farm Credit and ultimately was honored to end that term by serving as Chairman of the Board for First South Farm Credit. Boots and his loving wife, Carolyn Hobart Nelson were married for 61 years, until she preceded him in death in 2019. Together they had 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Boots and Carolyn built a life around their family and their faith. They were married in the Avon United Methodist Church in 1958 and were active members for the past 65 years. They hosted family for every Holiday each year and loved nothing more than filling the house with family for each of those occasions. It was also common for Boots and Carolyn to be in the company of their best friends, Carolyn's brother and his wife, Chalmers and Rachel Hobart, pursuing their love of traveling together across the country or attending Mississippi State football games. Boots is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hobart Nelson; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Graves Nelson, Sr. ; brother, Elmo Graves Nelson, Jr. ; sister, Virginia Shaw; sister, Anna Belle Patton; and an infant grandson, Sam King. He is survived by his children Tommy Nelson (Barbara), Lisa Nelson King (George), Melissa Nelson Lambourn (Roger), and Lori Nelson McPherson (Kent); his grandchildren, Kathryn Nelson Sharpe (Baine), Trey Nelson (Casey), Toni Lynn Nelson Horton (Clay), Boots Nelson, Walt King, Carolyn King Haynes (Chip), Caitlin King Walker (Reid), Nelson King, Robin Lambourn (Hayley), Morgan Lambourn Garrett (Grant), Dodger Lambourn (Marissa), Chase McPherson (Jordan), Meg McPherson Stalnaker (Adam), and Adam McPherson; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jimel Shamoon Jr. was born December 10, 1953, in Greenville, MS to Elizabeth Mansour Shamoon and Jimel Shamoon Sr. He passed from this life on Friday, October 13, 2023, at his home on Highland Plantation at the age of 69. Jimel graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School and attended Mississippi Delta Community College pursuing a nursing degree, until he was called home to Greenville to join the family business. In September 1982, Jimel accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was a faithful servant of the Lord for 41 years, serving as a Deacon at Son Flower Church in Anguilla where he and his family were active members for 32 years. His greatest joy came from ministering to inmates through End Time Harvest Prison Ministry at the Issaquena County Correctional Facility and Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman for over 15 years. He married Susan Lee Bell in January 1986, and in that same year, they founded Shamoon Advertising & Marketing. Shortly afterwards, he opened Shamoon Shoes in the Goyer Shopping Center in downtown Greenville. After his daughters were born, he closed his shoe store and began leading the outside sales division in their advertising business, which gave him flexibility to attend his daughters' activities. His daughters were the light of his life and the focus of his attention. Jimel traveled across the Mississippi and Arkansas Delta, building the client base for Shamoon Advertising. His work philosophy was to excel in customer service by meeting his clients face to face, which built many strong friendships that he enjoyed for many years. He was known as a man of quiet strength and amazing faith, with a kind and gentle heart and a delightful sense of humor. He would share the Word of God with everyone and take every opportunity to pray for those in need of prayer. The ultimate host, he loved entertaining family and friends, which included cooking and sharing his family's Lebanese recipes. Jimel was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by Susan, his wife of 37 years, daughters Katherine Adele Shamoon of Greenville, MS and Emily Anne Shamoon of Brandon, MS; brother David George Shamoon (Lisa) of Greenville; sister Cecelia Shamoon Thomas of Forest, MS and Michael Mansour Shamoon (Jackie) of Shirley, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. with visitation at 1:00 p. m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in Greenville. Pastor Chris Vowell and Pastor Harvest Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Boone Funeral Home in Greenville. Frank Landel McWilliams died peacefully on October 11, 2023. He was born in Indianola on October 22, 1946, the third son of James Holmes McWilliams and Lucille Mathews McWilliams, and was raised in Holly Ridge, Mississippi. He attended Indianola High School with the Class of 1964 and was a graduate of Columbia Military Academy. He attended Mississippi State University, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Frank served his country with the United States Navy assigned to the Marines as a medical corpsman. He graduated from Millsaps College and the University of Mississippi School of Law. He practiced law in Indianola and served as the Prosecuting Attorney for Sunflower County, Mississippi. Frank later served as the Public Defender in Hinds County until his retirement. Frank leaves his son, D. Rials McWilliams (Courtney), and his grandson, John Rials McWilliams, of Madison, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille McWilliams, and his brother, Tommy McWilliams. He is also survived by two brothers, James E. McWilliams of Holly Ridge, and Johnny McWilliams of Indianola. Frank leaves nieces and nephews, Matt McWilliams (Wendy) of Brandon, MS, Hayden Hooper (Bob) of Brownsville, TN, Katie McWilliams of Leland, MS, Mason McWilliams (Lena) of Memphis TN, Jack McWilliams (Tiffany) of Cleveland MS, a host of great nephews and nieces and countless special friends. Frank loved people deeply and was likewise loved by all who knew him. Services will be held at the Indianola First Methodist Church on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with visitation at 1:00 p. m. and the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p. m. It is with sadness that we share that Tressie Lee Webb, 90, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on September 23, 2023. Tressie was a wife, mother, Mamaw, sister, and daughter. She is now singing with the angels, and she is reunited with those lost during her long and faithful life. Tressie Lee Barrentine, the 2nd child of 12 children, was born in rural Mississippi to Joe and Alice Barrentine. In 1951 she married Roy Eugene Webb. Tressie and Roy shared their lives for 64 years until Roy's passing in 2015. Tressie would serve her country alongside Roy during his career in the United States Air Force. They raised a family while traveling around the world. Tressie and Roy returned home to Leland, MS in 1975 to be close to family and friends. During her life, Tressie, a virtuous woman of strong faith, was active in many Southern Baptist churches. She worked for many years for JCPenney in Greenville. She had a lifelong love for gardening and in her "spare" time she nurtured a large flower garden. Her family believes her soul found God in her garden. Tressie was known for her giving heart and her perpetual kindness. She filled her kitchen with family and friends. She had a heart for serving others. Many a stray person or animal was blessed with her generosity. Tressie also had an unwavering sense of adventure. She loved to travel and was quick to try new things. She made friends easily and was often the first person you called to help. She was the glue that held her family together. She never failed to see the best in those she loved. Tressie leaves behind an empty place in our hearts. We are eternally grateful for our time together. Tressie is survived by her children Cindy Davis, Robert Davis, Thomas Webb, and Karen Webb, her grandchildren Lindsay Lewis, and John Lewis, and her great-grandchildren Rawson Lewis, Clayton Lewis, and Hudson Lewis. She is also survived by a large, extended family. Tressie will be interned in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Inverness, MS next to her beloved Roy. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and a true fighter in life. She journeyed through life with unwavering strength, boundless love for family, and an infectious smile that brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Arlone Hapgood Wilson, and sister Connie Haile. She is survived by her two daughters, Sonja Tennille Finklea (Curtis), and Wendy Rene Bell; one son Gregory Wilson Roe; seven grandchildren, Bre Rapella (Andy), Hunter Curtis, Parker Bell (Heather), Cheslea Bell, Patrick Bell (Hannah), Houston Curtis, CJ Finklea; and the proud great-grandmother of six great-grandchildren. Rebecca Ann Roe graduated from Greenville High School in 1969. She embarked on a remarkable career, dedicating an incredible 49 years of her life to Campbell Delong, LLC, where her dedication and commitment were nothing short of inspiring. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Greenville, Mississippi. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found solace, strength, and guidance in her relationship with God. Her unwavering faith was a source of inspiration to all who knew her, and it provided her with the resilience to face life's challenges with grace and courage. She was not only a dedicated professional but also a selfless soul who lent a helping hand to anyone in need. Her generosity and kindness touched the hearts of countless individuals throughout her lifetime. She had a special place in her heart for her family and friends, showering them with love and affection, and creating cherished memories that will forever live on.
