William Larry York, born September 20, 1941, in Hornersville, Missouri departed this life on March 3, 2024, at the age of 82, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was the son of Lucille Edmonston York and Bill York of Campbell and was one of nine children.He worked at Brown Shoe Company in Bernie as an assistant foreman for many years. He also worked in maintenance and transportation at Bernie Schools and farmed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter. He enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren and found it easy to see the evidence of God in the simple things in life and nature. He loved his family deeply.On February 17, 1962, he was united in marriage to Helen Stanfield and she survives of the home in Bernie.Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Tom) Thrower and Twila (Ken) Luckett; five grandchildren, Marc Thrower, Brooke (Kyle) Chipman, Wade (Kerianne) Luckett, Collin (Lacey) Luckett, Hannah (Hunter) Kinslow; ten great grandchildren, Kennady and Brynna Thrower, Jo, Rae and Kit Chipman, Hudson and Ryder Luckett, Annabelle Luckett, Roman and Levi Kinslow. He is also survived by five siblings, Wayne York, Karen (Larry) Ligons, Phyllis (Mark) Cannon, Roma (Charlie) Barnes, and Arthur York; as well as many nieces and nephews.Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Donald York and one sister, Judy Martin.Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie on Thursday March 7, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1: 00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday March 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Neil Durner officiating. From the moment news was received of Audra’s anticipated arrival, she had already brought immersible joy to so many lives as they all anxiously waited. Although her life was brief, Audra will live forever in our hearts. Karen Lavette (Stovall) Dodd, 66, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away February 24, 2024, in her home. Karen was born September 21, 1957, in Charlottesville, Virginia to Fred and Lena (Monroe) Stovall. On September 6, 1979, after a one-year courtship, she married the love of her life, Thomas Dodd, after which their family became complete with two sons and one daughter.Karen began studying God’s word in 1987 and was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness two years later on January 7, 1989. As a Jehovah’s Witness, Karen spent the rest of her life spreading the word of God through door-to-door ministry, auxiliary pioneering, and Bible study. Ministering with her spiritual brothers and sisters always brought her great joy.Karen will always be remembered for her generosity, compassion, and soft heart. She was known as many things: wife, mother, sister, grandmother (Nana), friend, and confidant. She touched many people throughout her life. Personally, Karen enjoyed shopping, eating great food, reading the Bible, and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Daniel Owen “Dan” Starks, son of the late Norman Starks and Catherine (Foster) Starks was born on October 3, 1948 in Missouri and departed this life on February 28, 2024 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He had attained the age of seventy-five years, four months and twenty-five days. Dan had resided in Van Buren, Missouri for most of his life. He was of the Adventist Protestant Christian faith. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time with family. Dan was very kind, good-hearted and had a good sense of humor. Survivors include his brother, Norman Starks; his sister, Iris Wojcik and many relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Virginia Lee (Doll) Fach Stoldt 94, of Poplar Bluff passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23, 2024, in her home with family by her side. Virginia was born July 18, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to John and Catherine (nee: Marshall) Doll. Virginia was united in marriage in 1949 to Hugo Fach. To this union four children were born, Hugo, Ronald, Donald, and Catherine. She later met and married Carl Stoldt in 1970. They celebrated 29 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Jenny and Carl loved to travel and spend the winter months in their home near the beach. Jenny loved to keep busy, she enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, knitting, working in her yard, gardening, music, working on genealogy with her sister Kay, and spending time with family and friend. She is survived by her children, Hugo Fach, Ronald Fach, Donald Fach, and Catherine Soots (Mark); three grandchildren, Christine Pauk (Damon), Michael Soots (Amber), Cheryl Purfeerst (Adam); six great grandchildren, Madison Kalm (Sebastian), Caleb, Ashton, Lilly, Leah, Sawyer and one great great grandchild Isabel Kalm; siblings, Jack Doll (Janet), and Sharon Weber. She was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Doll, her first husband Hugo Fach, her husband Carl Stoldt, her siblings Gary Doll, Leonard Doll, Margaret Cason, and Kathleen Rangel. Services: Funeral at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, on Monday, March 4, 11:00 am. Interment Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

"Willette “Billie” Huff Redding was born November 1938 in Mountain View, Missouri to John V Fry Huff and Etta Chiffon Cheatom. She entered into rest on February 11, 2024 at her home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was 85 years old. She is preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Victoria and Donna Redding, six sisters; Mary Etta Mills, Velma Jean Weir, Millie Schillie, Lucille Johnson, Hellen Tatum, and Judy Wilson. On October 5, 1953, she married Clinton “Hank” Redding in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. They later learned that their license was never filed, so they remarried on October 7, 1978 in Cedar Hill, Missouri. Hank entered into rest on June 8, 2002. She is survived by her three children; Denise Falco (Mike Nichols), Mary (Jim) Gilliland, and Clint Redding, grandchildren; Chet (Toni), Niki (Jeff), Michael, Jake, Nicho (Gina), Alex, Billy, Amber (Brian), Dee, Jackie (Scott), and Mike Jr (Kacy), great-grandchildren; Chase, Josi (Gabe), Aedan, Aisley, Nico, Nirvana, Brody, Eli, Jordan, Tonya, Brian, Ashley, and Jade, ten great-great grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family and friends. Billie was passionate about learning and sharing her knowledge. One of her first gifts was a book and she knew right away that reading was something she loved. At 69 years old, she went back to school and graduated at the top of her class with her GED. Because of her love for learning, her mind was never idle; playing cards, games, puzzles, painting ceramics, and guitar lessons. She made clothing, quilts, delicious recipes, jewelry, ornaments, and wine. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t grow and she was known for her bountiful garden, flowers, and trees. When she wasn’t learning, she was sharing her words of wisdom. She had a way of telling you exactly what you needed to hear. She didn’t believe in dwelling on things and appreciated the little things in life. She loved to do and try anything that would bring joy. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to be a part of her world. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. He was born October 25, 1945 in Orange County, CA to Fred Thomas Colley, Sr. and Reva (Bridges) Colley. Fred’s number one passion in life was his family and spending time with them. In his early years he enjoyed drag racing on the weekends. Later he accomplished his dream of owning a restaurant when he and his family opened Colley’s Café, which was a staple in Doniphan for many years. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and reading. He had also attended the Church of Christ. On January 5, 1987 in Doniphan he was married to Doris Colley, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Rhonda Jungbluth (Jeff) of Poplar Bluff, MO; Fred Thomas Colley, III “Tom” (Jennifer) of Franklin, TN; Melissa (Jeremiah) Lovins of Doniphan; Matt (Ashley) Colley of Cedar Grove, NC; grandchildren Stefeny (Jason) of Kansas City, MO; Michael of Nashville, TN; Ella, Kaelyn, Jack and Max of Franklin, TN; Emily (Zachary) and Paris of Doniphan; Allison of Baltimore, MD; Jasper of Charlotte, NC; Nathan, Emma, and Rowan of Cedar Grove, NC; Charlotte of Las Vegas, NV; and great-grandchildren Athena and Ares. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for Mr. Fred Colley will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 in the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harold Sheppard officiating.
