Shannon Harrison

Shannon Harrison

Age - 80

November 22, 2023

Always one to make an entrance, Shannon Kay Harrison made her final exit on November 16th 2023. We would divulge her age, but a lady never tells. She leaves behind her daughter Heather Campese and grandchildren, Hunter Cooper, Madison Campese, and Christan Campese. Along with God only knows how many broken hearts of the men throughout the years who wanted to be seen with her and the women that wanted to BE her. Shannon was an Okie from Okmulgee. She was known as the angel faced rounder who attempted flight (i. e. , Mary Poppins style) with an old umbrella off the roof of the Black & White Apartments that she called home as a child. And escaped detection (and prosecution) when she was the mysterious Parking Meter Bandit at just 7 years old (sorry America's Most Wanted, you weren't gonna catch her alive). Shannon grew into a real beauty and found her way into the modeling world at the Dallas Apparel Mart in her 20's. A job assignment at the Atlanta Apparel Mart brought her permanently to the Peach State where her obsession with sweet tea remained right up until the week of her death. Shannon married and became a mother in 1965. Which turned out to be her greatest joy and accomplishment. She reveled in making all her daughters' clothes, heading up the Brownie Troupe and being the coolest mom Newnan Georgia ever had! In her life she opened a nail salon, had a catering business, sold handmade handbags, and ran her own jewelry store. She could cut a rug at Johnny's Hideaway. Loved to tap dance to AC/DC, had a flair for decorating and made hands down the best pound cake this side of the Mississippi. She loved playing billiards, shopping, cooking and literally teaching herself to do darn near anything not just good, but great. She could drive a motorcycle, milk a goat, shoot a gun and cause mass whiplash when entering a room. She leaves behind so many great memories for those that loved her, we'd need THREE of her infamous walk-in closets just to house them all. Her laughter and sense of humor was infectious, and both her daughter and granddaughter apparently caught it because we sound just like her. We'll never forget her sharp tongue and quick wit. Was she funny? Is Texas big? (this was her favorite retort). The hole she has left behind can never be filled. But if it could, she'd prefer we fill it with great handbags and high heels. We're sure she's choosing just the right outfit and hunting for her best coral lipstick in preparation for reuniting with her beloved husband Miller Thurman Harrison. She will be joining him in a private ceremony on November 28th at 10am at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. As promised, Governor, your gal is coming home to you. Thank you for letting us have her four more glorious years after your departure. We know you missed her. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you laugh hysterically when you see an Amazon truck. She'd really get a kick out of that! Sorry, it's an inside joke and she's taking that one with her. Logan Funeral Home & Chapel is in charge of arrangements.Show more
