Martin Haros, Sr. , was born at home in Austin, Texas on December 8, 1954, the youngest of fifteen children. He passed on to be with our loving Creator on September 28, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Martin was a devoted husband to Rebecca, a dedicated father to their five children, and a loving grandfather (Popie) to over 30 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He spent his life caring for and supporting his family as a truck driver. He was known for his delicious refried beans and homemade salsa that would burn your mouth. A devoted family man, Martin loved to spend time with his family and loved ones. Every Friday night, Martin, his siblings, and their children would gather at his parent’s home in Austin, Texas. You would never know what kind of antics the cousins would get into! Martin’s favorite past time was sharing a beer with his family as he listened to music and sang along. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rebecca Macias Haros, and their five children and their spouses: Martin Haros (wife Joy Haros), Phillip Haros, Isabel Cruz (husband Miguel Cruz), Anthony Haros (wife Donna Haros), and Michelle Robledo (husband Ray Robledo); 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters Oralia, Yolanda and Janie; brothers Jimmy and Carlos. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis Haros Sr. and Reymunda Guzman Haros; sisters Mary, Rosa, Margaret, and Josephina; brothers Luis Jr. , Raymond, Phillip, Roy and Ruben; grandsons Christopher and John Phillip. The family expresses its gratitude to the hospice caregivers and the family and many friends that have provided loving support during this time as we mourn the head of our family.

Our beloved father, Henry Maldonado, 81, was called to heaven Nov. 15, 2023. Henry was born August 24, 1942 and raised in Austin,TX. He graduated from Austin High School then joined the US Air Force. He served in Guam during the Vietnam War in Strategic Air Command as a Military Police Officer guarding B-52 bombers. After his military service, He met his wife Beverly working at Tracor where she was the first female semi conductor operator. They married and transferred to California, then returned to Austin to give birth to their first child and be closer to family. In 1967 after noticing the lack of Spanish music in Austin they took a leap of faith and opened what became the legendary Maldonado's Record Shop followed by 2 more locations always staying loyal to East Austin. Henry also produced local talent on his record label Maldo-Records and was co-owner of Flamingo Ballroom with Omar Salinas. They raised their children Rovena, Henry ll, and Javier in Manchaca, TX. All 3 children worked in the family business. Henry and Beverly held yearly toy drives for the children in East Austin, hosted autograph parties to bring Tejano artist closer to their fans and volunteered their time helping San Francisco Javier and Santa Cruz Catholic Churches introducing live music to the annual festivals bringing the community together and helping the churches reach their fund raising goals. They retired from Maldonado's Record Shop after 32 yrs. They enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, helping the church, participating in church clubs and organizations, and living life to the fullest. Henry was a loving husband of 57 years, devoted father of 3 and grandfather of 5. He was a man of strong faith and loved helping others. He had a warm smile and a kind heart, always ready to offer advice or words of wisdom. He had a witty sense of humor. Henry lost the love of his life Beverly late 2018 to cancer. He continued his 17 yr. battle with Parkinson's never complaining. He moved to San Antonio in 2019 to Live with his daughter Rovena, who never left his side taking care of all his needs until he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Hilario "Larry" Maldonado and Rebecca "Becky" Maldonado; his beloved wife, Beverly A. Maldonado; his brothers Frank Maldonado and Richard Maldonado. Henry is survived by his children, Rovena Maldonado (Diana), Henry Maldonado II (Lisa), and Javier Maldonado(Johanna); his grandchildren, Brittany Eyre (Tyler), Brent Maldonado, Enrique Maldonado, Jaime Maldonado, and Grace Beverly Maldonado; his siblings, Dolly Marquez (Ram), and Del Candelario; sisters-in-law, Kelly Maldonado, Dahlia DeCamp (Dodd) and Nancy Maldonado, and many loving family members. In honor of Henry and Beverly, family is asking you to bring one unwrapped toy to the Mass Service for a Children's Christmas toy drive. Our beloved Maria Ygnacia Gonzales, age 89, was called to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was greeted in heaven by her husband of 39 years, Pedro Gonzales; her sons, Paul Carmona, David Carmona, and Juan Manuel Hisbrook; her siblings, Nicolas Trujillo Gallardo, Elisa Montana, Elias Gallardo III, Joe Luis Gallardo, Johnnie David Gallardo, and her in-laws, Alfred Loera, Alfredo Montana, and Charles Jenkins. She was a long time employee and retiree of Eanes ISD and Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. Our beloved Pedro "Pete" Quintero, Sr. , age 76, was called to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He passed way peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Pete was preceded in death by his son, Steven Quintero; his father, Raul Quintero, Sr. ; his siblings, Raul Quintero, Jr. , Jose Quintero, Armando Quintero, Refugio Quintero, and Adela Quintero, and his brothers-in-law, Paul Thagard, Theodore Lawson, and Ray Luna. Pete proudly served our country as a member of the United State Marine Corp, Army National Guard, and Air Force Reserves. Pete is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janie Lugo Quintero; his mother, Margarita Quintero; his son, Pete Quintero, Jr. ; his treasured grandchildren, Joshua Quintero, Madeline Quintero, and Shannon Quintero; his siblings, Leonarda Thagard, Maggie Quintero Lawon, Tilly Luna, Alda Correa (Elezar), Toribio Quintero, and Mario Quintero, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Richard "Rick" C. King Jr. , beloved father, brother, dear friend, and brilliant legal mind died on Monday, November 27, 2023, at St. David's Medical Center South in Austin, Texas. He was surrounded by his four children and close friends as he passed peacefully. Rick was born on October 30, 1968 in Laredo, Texas to Richard C. King and Susan Beers King. He then lived in England, Virginia, and finally Austin where he graduated from Travis High School. Rick graduated from The University of Texas in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government. Rick also participated in The Frank Denius Normandy Scholar Program in 1991. After spending some time as a commercial real estate appraiser, he attended The University of Texas School of Law where he graduated in 1998 with a Juris Doctor and as a member of The Order of Coif. After graduation, Rick clerked for John H. Hannah of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas before clerking for the Honorable Robert M. Parker of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. After his clerkships, he was an associate with Baker Botts in Washington, D. C. followed by associate and partner at the Austin office of Munsch Hardt. In June 2011, he joined the King Law Group where he worked until he passed on November 27. He is survived by his four children Jacob King, Josh King, Rachel King, and Wyatt King, all of Austin, Texas; his brother, Ryan King of New York City; his Aunt Dot Overstreet and Uncle Bill Overstreet of Roanoke, Virginia; and partner Heather Detrixhe. A memorial service will be held at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church on Saturday December 9, 2023 at 10 AM.
