Martin J. Cummins Jr. , 90 of Marathon, FL and a longtime resident of Manasquan passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, the birthday of his beloved wife Maureen and their 66th wedding anniversary at Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick after a lengthy illness. Martin was born in Teaneck, NJ to the late Martin J. and Ella (nee Murphy) Cummins. He had resided in Manasquan, NJ for many years before moving to Marathon, FL 50 years ago. Martin was a devout Catholic and as a Manasquan resident, he was an active member and daily Communicant of St. Denis Parish and St. Pablo’s Church, Marathon, FL. He was a self employed Real Estate developer amongst other occupations. He was an Army veteran serving in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. Martin was also a proud friend of Bill W, recently receiving his 51 year pin. He was predeceased by his 2 beloved sons, Patrick as a baby in 1964 and Brian who was a victim of terrorism on Sept. 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center. Surviving is his devoted wife of 66 years Maureen (nee Kenneally) Cummins, his 4 beloved sons and their spouses, Martin and Karen Cummins of Vero Beach, FL, Michael and Catherine Cummins of Austin, TX. , John and Kate Cummins of Manasquan, NJ and Brendan and Lois Cummins of Vero Beach, Fl , and 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in St. Denis Church, 90 Union Ave. , Manasquan, NJ 08736 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 9, 2023 at 10:00am in St. Denis Church. Interment will be held privately in the Cummins family plot in Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ. Clifford Charles Cline passed away peacefully on November 30,2023 at home with his wife Annette. Cliff was born on November 11,1943 in Vineland, NJ. Out of high school he enlisted in the Navy and served his country proudly. Having been born on Veterans Day he would often joke that "he gave you the day off. " After leaving the Navy he worked as a freelance photographer. A lifelong lover of the shore, he eventually made his way back to New Jersey and settled with his family in Lake Como where he happily lived out the remainder of his life. Considering himself "a friend to all," he carried out his civic duties in various ways through the years. He served as Post Commander for the American Legion 346 twice, on the Lake Como School Board, and for the South Belmar Volunteer Fire Dept. His love of the shore was not exclusive to New Jersey but extended to the Outer Banks in North Carolina where he and his wife Annette frequently vacationed. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and could be caught during any season game enjoying a cold beer cheering his team on. Cliff was preceded in death by brother Donald and sister Kathleen. He leaves to cherish his memory loving wife Annette (Weezie), daughter Stephani, granddaughter Sarah(Jake) McGuire, grandson Michael Hartney, dearest niece Tiffany (Angel) Velez, great niece Nicole Ney, sister Claudia, brother Frederick and many more. Janice E. Philpot, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 2, 2023. Born and raised in Farmingdale NJ, Janice was a 43-year resident of Bradley Beach. She attended Farmingdale Grammar School and Howell High School, class of '77. Janice worked for banking firms on Wall Street and later as a secretary for First Baptist Church of Asbury Park. Known as one of the "Pyrex Girls," her love of collecting and selling vintage Pyrex blossomed into a twenty-year long business with friend Linda. Janice doted on her loyal pup, Keeper, and had a lifelong love for gardening. Janice was a loving wife for over 43 years to her husband, Glenn Steven Philpot. She adored her son Jonathan and his wife, Lisa. Janice is survived by her loving family, friends, and neighbors, including her business partner Linda Pao and her husband Glenn Gernsbeck, her sister, Shirley Ann Lee, her two brothers and their wives, John Pekarchik, Jr. (wife Vickie), Ronald Pekarchik (wife Karly) her aunt, Eleanor Waldrupof, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. Piera's journey led her from Sicily to the United Kingdom, where she united in marriage with Antonio Mistretta. Together, they welcomed two daughters, Rosalba and Maria Teresa, and expanded their family with the arrival of Anthony and Ricardo upon their move to the United States. As accomplished tailors, Piera and Antonio left an indelible mark on the world of fashion. Antonio tailored suits for notable figures, while Piera's creative spirit flourished in the realm of bridal fashion, exemplified by her boutique, Piera's Bridal Bouquet. Beyond her immediate family, Piera was a devoted caregiver, nurturing her mother, Maria Santa, and stepfather, Charlie, creating a home filled with warmth and compassion. Known for her impeccable style and culinary prowess, Piera was a true fashionista and a culinary artist whose dishes created lasting memories. Piera's legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren: Rosalba Morris her late husband Wayne Morris, Maria Teresa Mistretta, married to Richard Guiddy,Anthony and his girlfriend, Christina; Ricardo and his girlfriend, Debbie. Carole Manni, 93, of Manasquan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023. She was born, raised, and educated in North Bergen, NJ and attended Fairleigh Dickinson University. Carole resided in Wood-Ridge, River Edge, and Wood Cliff Lake before moving to Wall Township in 1998. She was an executive secretary for the President and CEO of Duro-Test Corp. Carole retired from her job to raise her family. She was a volunteer English as a Second Language for many years and was named Teacher of the Year for 2005-2006, and a recipient of a citation in 2010 for completing 20 years of teaching. Her main joy in life, however, came from raising her family and cooking delicious meals for all of them. After her sons were in college, she felt it was now time to travel with her husband and accompanied him on numerous businesses trips to Europe, Canada, and the Caribbean. Carole was predeceased by her husband Sergio Manni, 2018, her parents Thomas and Clara (nee Sauer) Neggia, and her sister and brother-in-law Clare and Richard Lepera. She is survived by her two loving sons Thomas and Sharon Manni of Manasquan, and Bob and Uni Manni of San Diego, CA. Carole was the cherished grandmother to Melissa, Justin, Emily, and Sky, and great grandchildren Tyson, Brayden, and Reese. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, John Maurice Stoner. He departed this world on November 15, 2023, at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, and commitment to family. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, John came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. Born March 25, 1950, In Point Pleasant, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert and Helen (Clayton) Stoner. After John graduated from Manasquan High School in 1969, He joined the Army and went on to serve as a Strategic Microwave Communications Repairman in the South-East Asian Theatre of Operations. After returning from Thailand in 1972 John worked for Electro Impulse as an Assembler for 45 years. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and a lover of history. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved dearly. John enjoyed a continued friendship with his former spouse Georgine Stoner and traveling and attending horseraces with his sweetheart Theresa Carmicheal. Georgine, Theresa, and his son Ben all enjoyed the benefits of John's gardening expertise. He was always willing to impart his vast knowledge of fishing, gardening and history with his family and friends. His most important lesson was always to love. Left to cherish his memory include his three children, Matthew Stoner and his wife Gabriela, Benjamin Stoner and his wife Louise, and Linda Stoner-Tebbs and her husband Robert; 8 grandchildren Thelonious, Sienna, Anastasia, Aubrey, Aidan, Abby, Lily, and Sally; brothers Ira and Jacob; several nieces, nephews and friends. Click here to watch Live Stream Eric Tellefsen, 57, of Manasquan, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, November 4, 2023, after a protracted battle with illness arising from the cancer treatments that saved his life some 20 years earlier. Eric was born in Teaneck, NJ and raised in New Jersey, the son of Gerald Tellefsen and Joan L. Veronelli. He spent his summers in Long Beach Island, and later moved to Monmouth County. He is a graduate of Northern Valley Old Tappan Regional High School and Muhlenberg College, where he was a member of the ZBT fraternity. After graduating from college Eric went to work in various technology roles on Wall Street, spending over 19 years at Lehman Brothers. On September 11, 2001, Eric was at his desk on the 38th floor of World Trade Center One, getting the day started early at Lehman, when he felt the impact of the plane hit the building. Like many others, he made it out of the building and shared his firsthand escape story from the WTC and NY with anyone who was interested to hear it. Two years after 9/11 Eric was diagnosed with Stage 4 testicular cancer. In true Tellefsen style, and in the best shape of his life, Eric conquered cancer after contending with treatments that would eventually, 20 years later, lead to his early passing. In addition to these challenges, Eric was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, an inherited retinal disease that eventually caused Eric to be legally blind. Despite these challenges, Eric continued to demonstrate a positive zest for life and was always willing to share his struggles and life-affirming successes with anyone who asked. In March 2008, Eric married his beloved wife Mary Ellen Georgas, and together in 2010 they purchased and managed The Sea Spray Inn in Ocean Grove, NJ, growing it into a highly rated and popular bed and breakfast, with a loyal clientele, several of whom became their cherished friends. Eric brought joy, laughter, and great breakfasts to all who visited the Sea Spray Inn and made long-term friends with many of the guests. Eric was a lifelong beach lover spending every summer of his life at the Jersey Shore from Surf City to Ocean Grove to Manasquan. Eric is survived by his loving family: wife Mary Ellen, father Gerald Tellefsen and step mother Joan Trude Tellefsen of St. Petersburg, FL, sisters Jill McClean and her husband Brian of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Lynn Tellefsen Stehle and her husband Doug Stehle of Bradley Beach. Patricia McKelvey Burdge, 85 of Manasquan went home to be with her Lord and family on Sunday October 29, 2023. Pat was born in Spring Lake Heights on April 26, 1938, had lived in Wall before moving to Manasquan. She attended New Bedford and Central School and graduated from Manasquan High School in 1956. Pat worked at Manasquan National Bank, Manasquan Savings and Loan, where she was Treasurer. She was the finance director at United Way of Monmouth County. Pat married Melvin Burdge in 1962 and moved to their home in Manasquan. She belonged to the Wall United Methodist Church prior becoming a member of the Manasquan United Methodist Church. Pat was also a member of the Manasquan Seniors. Pat was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Melvin S. Burdge in 2013, her parents Alta and Lawrence McKelvey, and a sister Janice Holloway. She is survived by her nephews, Howard J Holloway(Linda) and Larry Holloway(Jennifer) both of SC, and Richard Holloway(Beverley) of GA. Her close friends and caregivers A. Christine Helfrich, Michelle Bocchino and her husband David and their children Brielle and Brent, as well as many caring friends. Beverly Levy, age 83, of Manasquan, New Jersey passed away peacefully Sunday, October 29, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Levy, her father, Zock Holzberg, her mother, Ruth Holzberg, and her sister, Natalie Holzberg. She was born in Lakewood NJ and graduated from Lakewood High School where she excelled in academics and was a majorette. She went on to attend Boston University and finished her college studies at Georgian Court College in Lakewood. Bev was an elementary school teacher and a reading teacher and served on the board of Arthur Brisbane Child Treatment Center. She was also an artist, a classically trained pianist, an avid reader, and an exercise enthusiast. She loved a good crossword puzzle, all forms of the arts, and studying and learning about any topic that intrigued her. Bev was a fiercely strong, intelligent woman who served as a trusted confidante to family and friends and always offered sage advice and words of encouragement to whoever needed them. She had many passions, but her greatest enjoyment came from being with her family. Bev is survived by her daughter Wendy Reizer of Manasquan, New Jersey, son John Levy and his wife Wendy Kalish of Scottsdale, Arizona, and her granddaughter, Olivia Reizer of New York City. Relatives and friends will be received at Beth Am Shalom, 1235 Highway 70, Lakewood, NJ on Sunday, November 5 from 12:30-1 pm. Her memorial service will follow at 1 pm in Beth Am Shalom.
