Born on June 29, 1947, in Marietta, Georgia, Joyce spent her early years enveloped in the warmth of a close-knit family and community that shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Joyce, the daughter of the late James T. Bryant and Corine H. Deavers, grew up alongside her sisters, Doris A. Campbell (John) and Carolyn B. Norrell (Charles), weaving a tapestry of memories that would last a lifetime. Her family circle expanded when she married the late, Richard Green, the love of her life, and together they nurtured a family that became her pride and joy. Joyce's nurturing spirit continued to flourish as she became "Grammy" to her adored grandchildren, Lauren Murphree, Matthew Murphree (Kimberly), Mary Olivia Christenson, and Cooper Christenson. Joyce's legacy is carried on by her devoted daughters, Tammy L. Murphree (Chris) and Robyn Susanne Christenson, who reflect her nurturing nature and loving heart. Her family extended to include a sister-in-law, Susan Hebert, and brothers-in-law, David Green and Edward Green, along with many loving nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished deeply. A graduate of Sprayberry High School, Joyce's dedication and punctuality became hallmarks of her professional life as a bank teller at Cotton States Credit Union. She was a culinary enthusiast who loved to cook, sharing her dishes with friends and family, creating moments of togetherness around the dinner table. Joyce's love for her children and grandchildren was paramount, and she embraced her role as "Grammy" with every ounce of her being.
