"Albany, NY-Martha Beatrice Soasti-Cabrera (Martita) passed away peacefully just two months shy of Ninety years of age at the Teresian House Long Term Care Center in Albany, NY. on Friday, April 21st, 2023 (same date of her mother\u0027s birthday) with her loving family at her side. She formerly resided in Slingerlands, NY. She departed this world peacefully and will be reunited with her family and friends. She immigrated for a prosperous life in the early 1950\u0027s arriving in Brooklyn, Williamsburg, New York. She continued her education while working to maintain a career field as a Bilingual Executive Secretary. Her proudest achievement was working as an Executive Assistant at SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology and lastly for her Union Family in Manhattan, New York Local 1L. She has so many fond attributes. She was extremely fashionable, elegant, upbeat, independent, a great sense of humor, caring, loving, and compassionate. She loved attending the Broadway Theater District, dining out, along with various genre of music and staying informed with current events. She was a sports fanatic without a doubt. Her favorite teams were The NY Yankees, The Golden State Warriors, and Tennis. Besides these attributes she always had the willingness and strength to achieve any opportunities her way via her strong spiritual faith. Martha is survived by her loving children, Margie E. Guzman (David) and Jacqueline Cabrera; grandchildren, Dave C. Guzman, Andrea J. Quinn (Shaun) and Maya I. Lampert; great-grandchildren, Bella K. Martinelli-Guzman- Lola K. Martinelli-Guzman, Daniel H. Quinn and Lana E. Quinn. ; as well as nieces that she also adored; Marilyn and Ingrid ; and grand-nephew and grand-niece Isaac and Sophie. She was preceded in death by her mother Josefina M. Aguilar-Soasti; father Luis A. Soasti; sister (Pia); and the Soasti\u0027s brothers Ugo, Efrain, Arturo, Alfonso, and Gonzalo and dearest friends. The family is deeply grateful for the loving, compassionate care given to Martha by her caregivers and fondest friends at Teresian House, Marie Rose, Interim Care, Albany County Services, The Town of Bethlehem Senior Services, and lastly all the Physicians and staff that took care of Martha with impeccable care. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Martha\u0027s family on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206.
