She is survived by her brothers and sisters Catherine Cavazos (Jorge), Albert Francis Fisher Jr. , Juan Antonio Gordiano (Tammy), Loretta Gordiano Gillen (James), Elizabeth Gordiano, 8 nieces and nephews and 10 grand nieces and nephews. Fue un solucionador de problemas, siempre buscando lo positivo de cada situacion su conviccion firme de que todo es posible cuando dedicas tu corazon y mente a ello. Sera recordado como un hombre de gran paciencia - una cualidad que le permitio escuchar, entender, y guiar con mano amable. No habia un problema demasiado complejo que Abelardo no pudiera resolver. Este hombre de todos los oficios disfrutaba cada oportunidad de usar sus manos, construyendo no solo la casa de su familia sino tambien un legado de ingenio y resiliencia. La musica fue el escape conmovedor de Abelardo; cantar las rancheras nortenas como las cantadas por Los Alegres de Teran y Miguel Miguel, Los Donnenos, que Abelardo encontro su ritmo en la vida. La honestidad, la paciencia y la fe inquebrantable de Abelardo proporcionaron una base que permitio que su familia y amigos prosperaran. With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Arturo Gutierrez on December 3, 2023, at the age of 68. Born on October 6, 1955--a life well-lived comes to rest. Arturo devoted 16 years of service to the University of Texas Maintenance Department before his well-earned retirement, embracing the restful years after a career of diligence and dedication. His deep love for God was evident in how he lived and loved. He found joy and solace in attending church every weekend, a tradition followed by indulging in his favorite Church's Chicken while reveling in the thrill of boxing matches. Arturo's evenings were often spent in the quiet company of the 5 o'clock news on Channel 4, staying informed and connected to the world around him. His passion for sports shined brightly when watching the Dallas Cowboys play, embodying the spirit of competition. But Arturo was not one to sit still for long. His hands were his tools, and with them, he mastered the crafts of plumbing, roofing, and carpentry. His projects were not only a source of pride but a testament to the skilled workmanship passed down through generations. The tranquility of yard work and the outdoors was a gift from his beloved mother. His garden was tended with love and care a haven for reflection and peace. His strategic mind came alive over games of poker and pool, where he also embraced the joy of continuous learning--a true reflection of a life that constantly sought growth and knowledge. Above all, Arturo was known for his caring, loving, and considerate nature. Every week you could find him gather with his four sisters playing "chalupa" cracking jokes and making beautiful memories. A Godly man whose compassionate spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him, he leaves behind a legacy of warmth and generosity. Survived by his five siblings, Angelica Gutierrez, Alicia Guerra, Angelita Gutierrez, Alfredo Gutierrez, Aracelia Gutierrez; over twenty nieces and nephews; many more family and friends. Arturo is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Dolores Gutierrez; his sister, Aurorita Gutierrez. With a heart full of devotion to his faith and a melody ever-present in his step, Joel A. Casas, at the age of 50, concluded his vibrant journey on earth on December, 2, 2023. As the youngest member and the cherished baby of his family, Joel's zest for life and dedication to his loved ones marked the chapters of his beautiful, albeit too brief, story. Born on July 12, 1973, Joel's warmth and passion for teaching touched innumerable lives during his 24-year tenure at PSJA ISD. Even as illness cast a shadow upon his final days, his spirit remained undimmed, a beacon of the faith that so profoundly shaped his existence. Joel's relationship with God was the cornerstone of his life; he found solace and joy in prayer and worshipped with a fervor that was both profound and infectious. His tech-savvy nature meant he was always on the cutting edge, with a particular enthusiasm for the latest phones and gadgets that kept him connected to the broader world and, most importantly, to his beloved children. His artistry manifested through his accordion, the strum of his guitar, and the heartfelt timber of his voice. Despite his many hobbies and passions, Joel's commitment to family was paramount. Never missing an opportunity to send a loving "goodnight" or "good morning" text, his children knew without a doubt that they were his world. Joel is lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and the plethora of students whose lives he enriched throughout the years. His best friends, Calbert Gracia and Juan Crosby, remain the custodians of countless memories filled with laughter, friendship, and shared dreams. The void left by Joel's departure will be felt deeply, but his legacy is one of love, strength in faith, and the enduring power of music. Con profundo dolor anunciamos el fallecimiento pacifico de Leandro Sifuentes el 1 de diciembre de 2023, a la edad de 69 anos. Nacido el 13 de abril de 1954, la vida de Leandro fue un testimonio de dedicacion, amor y alegria. Leandro, un esposo devoto, estuvo casado con su amada esposa, Francisca, durante admirables 47 anos. Su historia de amor fue un asunto semanal de afecto y companerismo, con encuentros en La Plaza Ninos Heroes en Reynosa. Juntos, disfrutaron de sus desayunos, y la pulga, saboreando los sabores de frijoles, papas y huevos en restaurantes locales, una tradicion simple pero profunda que subrayo su profunda conexion. Leandro, orgulloso padre de dos ninos, transmitio su pasion por el beisbol a sus hijos, ensenandoles no solo las tecnicas del juego sino tambien los valores del trabajo en equipo y el espiritu deportivo. Su compromiso con el deporte fue evidente cuando dirigio su propio equipo, Sifuentes y Amigos, durante dos decadas: un legado de comunidad, camaraderia y competencia. She was born on December 25, 1936 to Gustavo Sandoval and Encarnacion Sandoval Sandoval in Fronton, Texas. She was a 1956 graduate of PSJA High School. Eliza is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Rogelio (Rebecca) Sandoval, Adalberto Sandoval, Viola (Eusebio) Puente, Gustavo Sandoval Jr. , Juan Roberto Sandoval and Fernando Sandoval. She is also preceded in death by her in laws, Romulo and Maria Salazar, Eloisa Salazar, Evelia Salazar, Carmelina Ortiz, Benita Salazar, and Ernesto (Rufina) Salazar. Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Santos Salazar. Her favorite children, Maria Esther Hernandez, Rosalinda Salazar (Raul) Garza and Romulo Rudy Salazar (Leticia Ledesma). Her adoring grandchildren, Alfredo (Maria) Hernandez and Christopher Eric hernandez; her dear great grandchildren, Alfredo Hernandez III (Tres) and Eliza Rosalinda Hernandez (Ellie Rose). Robert "Bob" H. Hadan, 90, of Pharr, TX, passed away on November 27, 2023 at his residence. A memorial service Bob and his daughter Polly who passed away on March 24, 2023, will be held in Albion, NE with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in the spring of 2024. A memorial will be established at that time. Levander Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of arrangements. Robert Henry Hadan was born February 19, 1933, to Henry and Amelia (Rieck) Hadan on a farm in the "Sleepy Hallow" community in Greeley County, NE. The family moved to Boone County, NE and lived on various farms mostly in the Primrose community on the "Pilot Knob" place south of town and Dublin community north of Primrose. Bob was baptized into the Lutheran faith on March 26, 1933, and confirmed on Oct 5, 1947, at St John's Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, NE where he continued to be a member until joining Zion Lutheran Church at Albion, NE. Bob attended 12 years of school at District 41 Primrose, NE and graduated in 1950. Bob farmed with his parents and was employed at Swift & Co of Omaha, NE until entering the Army in February of 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1956. Bob was united into marriage to Mary Ann Brandt on July 21, 1956, at Zion Lutheran Church, Albion NE and raised two children: Robbie and Polly. They farmed for 13 years west of Albion and in the Primrose community. They then moved to Columbus, NE in 1969 and worked for Becton-Dickinson until retiring in 1993. They traveled the United States in their 5th Wheel Camper until settling in the Rio Grande River Valley in Pharr, TX. Bob enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and gardening. In his retirement years at Paradise Resort Estates in Pharr, TX he enjoyed playing cards, bingo, raising flowers, and the company of his cats. His love of gardening was exemplified in his retirement years while living in south Texas as he was known as the "Plant Whisperer" in his retirement community. Bob is survived by his son Robbie Hadan of Hot Springs, SD; three granddaughters: Kari (Mark) Murray of Holdrege, NE; Shelby (Tim) Christensen of Holdrege, NE; Gina (Pete) Ottem of Douglas, WY; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Mary Ann in 2009; daughter: Polly Hadan in 2023; daughter in-law: Susan Hadan in 2018; and sisters: Mildred and Marjorie.Show more
