Richard Tullis Culpepper, 81, returned to His Heavenly home on Saturday, February 24, 2024, after a long and courageous battle. Richard was born in Blakely, Georgia on March 13, 1942, to parents Everett and Earnestine Culpepper. His mother unfortunately passed away early in his life, and Everett married Agnes Culpepper who lovingly raised Richard until her passing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Steve and Larry.In 1965, Richard married his sweetheart, Patty and they began to build a beautiful life together over the next 59 years. Richard’s life was full of unconditional love, family, friends but most importantly showing and telling anyone who he encountered about the love and hope he had in Jesus Christ.Richard was a big man with a bigger heart. Nothing made him happier than spending countless hours over his grill cooking and entertaining and loving and giving to his family and friends with all his heart. He was a loyal friend and protector of all he loved.Richard was a captivating storyteller and always looked forward to the next adventure. His love of golf, fishing and hunting all over the world left him as well as those with him, a lifetime of special memories.He was exceptionally smart and always a hard worker. He built relationships in the Commercial Real Estate industry over 40 years that were as much about business as they were about Jesus. He loved serving his community, his church, friends, and strangers in any area that was needed. His ministry reach was from Texas to Africa, all while telling of his faith and giving others the hope that he had because of Jesus. There will certainly be countless friends, family and strangers in heaven because of him.Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patty Riley Culpepper, daughter Andrea Mack (Brian), son Brad Culpepper (Krissy), 5 grandchildren, Max Driver (Kellie), Jett Driver (Hannah), Maverick Mack, Carley Culpepper, Tucker Culpepper, and one great-grandson, Bo Driver along with one brother, Ronnie Culpepper.A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 2:00pm at Carrollton First Methodist Church. Jacqueline Liles Roberts was born on April 4, 1933 in Effingham, County Georgia. The third of four children to parents Vester Liles and Myrtle Walden Liles, she lived most of her life in Berlin, Georgia. In 2017 she moved to assisted living in Carrollton, Georgia near her daughter. At the time of her death, she lived with her daughter and family in Carrollton.She is predeceased by her husband, Francis Wilkerson Roberts, her siblings, Billy Vester Liles, Sarah Onafae Furney, and William Travis Liles and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Faith Roberts Patton, son-in-law Rev. Larry Patton and grandchildren, Annabel, Micah and Eleanor Patton. She is also survived by a myriad of nieces and nephews and their families. She was considered “Aunt Jack” or “Granny Jack” to many young people who were related by love, if not blood. She would say she had many honorary children and grandchildren.At the age of 19, she began the fulfillment of her life’s dream of becoming a school teacher. She taught for many years, retiring from Odom Elementary School. In the intervening years, she returned to school to study Library Science and opened the first community library in Berlin, where she worked until she returned to teaching full-time.For most of her life she was an active member of Berlin Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for all ages, led VBS and sang in the Choir. She and her husband derived special joy from hosting the young people for Sunday night fellowship, supper, ping pong and volleyball.In later years, she was a member of Moultrie First Baptist Church and served in a variety of volunteer roles as well as singing in the choir. She participated in many mission trips with youth groups as well as hosting the youth for Disciple Now. She was an avid volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief. Her land donation provided the property for Colquitt County Habitat for Humanity to build 12 homes.Her hobbies included cooking, needlework, handcrafts and flower gardening. She enjoyed making crochet baby blankets, beaded Christmas bells, and sharing her flowers with fellow gardeners. She cooked innumerable meals for others. She especially loved blessing her pastors with their favorite sweets.Her life was defined by her faith in God expressed through love for family, church, and community.A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 Wednesday, February 28 at Moultrie First Baptist Church. He grew up in Carrollton, working on the family farm and having fun with cousins and neighborhood friends. He attended Tyus Elementary School as a young boy and later attended and graduated from Central High School in 1973. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs. Smith and the late Mrs. Willene King Smith in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 12, 1941.Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He served his country with the United States Navy as an Aviation Storekeeper from 1961-1963. Richard worked 33 years for the State of Georgia and was head of data processing with the Georgia Office of Secretary of State and retired in 1995.He was a Christian leader throughout his life and a member of Glenloch Baptist Church.
