Marshall William Leeds, 93, of Wanatah, passed away Sunday September 10, 2023. Marshall was born to Benjamin and Faye (Bernstein) Lefkowitz, on November 22, 1929, in New York City, NY. Marshall is preceded in death by his Wife Karen Leeds (Ray), sister Maxine Elster (Sam), and his parents. Marshall was a telecommunication specialist for Dontech out of Chicago. Marshall enjoyed bowling, fishing, and spending time with his family. Marshall was also a United States Air Force veteran. Marshall is survived by his son David Leeds (Jennifer) of Wanatah. He is also survived by his grandson Christopher Babjak (Katlynn), and great grandchildren, Jacob and Lucas Babjak. A private family memorial service will be held. Memorial donations can be made to your local food bank, in his memory. Bartholomew Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Guadalupe H. Salazar, age 87, of Plymouth, IN, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 in Brickyard Health Care Center of Valparaiso, IN, surrounded by family. Guadalupe was born in Donna, TX. on August 16, 1936 to Chon Concepcion Hernandez and Maria Perez. She graduated from Edinburg High School in Edinburg, TX and then the University of Texas-Pan American, Edinburg, TX and Michiana College of Commerce, South Bend, IN, with associate degrees in business and accounting respectively. She worked at Orthopedic Equipment Company formerly of Bourbon, IN and as a dietician for nursing homes. She married Ramon Salazar on May 26, 1956. at her parent's ranch in LaVilla, TX. She is survived by her children: Ramon (JoEllen) Salazar, III of Bourbon, IN; Maria Salazar King of San Antonio, TX; Ross (Ria) Salazar of Bourbon, IN; and LuAnn (Kenneth) Houston of Seymour, IN; her 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lydia (Daniel) Savedra of McAllen, TX. Guadalupe was preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Salazar; her infant daughter, Maria Cristela; her parents; and siblings Lydia, Olivia, Alejandro, Oralia, and Daniel. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Plymouth, IN. She was an avid reader, especially of her Bible. She was a devoted and faithful servant of God and a wonderful loving mother. She enjoyed a rich life full of things she loved including playful times with her husband and children whom she cherished. She also enjoyed cooking delicious dishes for family and friends, crocheting, gardening, games, flea markets, antiques, and her beloved pets. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, December 9, 2023. at 2:00 p. m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (9019 Suter Road, Plymouth, IN 46563) with the service via Zoom as well. John Alexander Kuhn , 59, of Valparaiso, Indiana passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born May 4, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois to Robert & Joan (Simon) Kuhn, graduated from St. Joseph's High School in Westchester, Illinois, and served proudly for 8 years with the U. S. Army. John made his career driving long-haul routes throughout America keeping our industries supplied with all of their logistical needs. He loved nothing more than throwing a fishing line in the water whenever he could get the chance. However, true fish stories were created at Hayward, Wisconsin and on Lake Geneva. Survivors include his children; Krystle Kuhn of Harvard, Illinois, Tiffany Epley, Tomas Delapaz, Jessenia Mercado, Dustin Witt, Angel Delapaz & Faith Taylor, fiance, Lisa Taylor of Valparaiso, siblings; Maria E. J. Kuhn of Elburn, Illinois, Thomas Joseph Kuhn of West Chicago, Illinois, Nancy Louise Garrison (Jeff) of St. Charles, Illinois, Mary Anne Callahan (Martin) of Batavia, Illinois, grandchildren; Areija Rust, Kaidynce Mercado, Lyrik Mercado, Ava Delapaz, Camdyn Rust, Dominic Delapaz, Harmony Mercado & Oakley Delapaz, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation will be held Friday, December 8 , 2023, from 11 am - 1 pm at Moeller Funeral Home , 104 Roosevelt Rd. , Valparaiso, Indiana with memorial service beginning at 1:00 pm. She was born on May 22, 1929, in Salem, Kentucky, to Ural and Vallie (Hicks) Wring. Mary is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Ann Buczkowski and Bonnie (Mike) Nestorovich; sons, Billy Lee (Gail) Cloyd, Michael Lewis Cloyd; sister-in-law, Anna Myers; grandchildren, Erik (Elaine) Suchak, David (Tracy) Simko, Heather (Dennis) Churilla, Billy (Melinda) Simko, Jason (Tabitha) Simko, Valeree (Ringo) Leung, Christopher Simko, Logan Cloyd, Katie (Josh) Martinez, Nikkie Cloyd, John Cloyd and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Oviede Cloyd; father, Ural Boggos Wring; mother, Vallie Elizabeth Wring; daughter, Susan Gail Simko; brother, William Douglas Wring and son-in-law, Doug Buczkowski. Mary was married to her husband Billy for 55 years before his passing in 2000. She retired from the Merrillville School System as a Food Service Manager. Mary enjoyed quilting as she made all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren quilts. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and especially loved spending time with all her grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her husband of 53 years, Raymond Rootkie; son, Keith (Melissa) Rootkie; daughters, Tara (Jeff) Underdahl and Brandie (Rob) Belstra; brothers, Bob Frazier, James (Barb) Patton, David (Mary) Patton; sisters, Jeanne (Mark) Muszynski, Terri (Greg) Bond; grandchildren, David Rootkie, Kailee Rootkie, Deanna Rootkie, Dalaney Rootkie, April (Tony Cheky) Underdahl, Kyle, Caden and Addison Underdahl, Sydney, Emrik and Kylie Belstra; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Maycie Cheky and numerous nieces and nephews.
