"It is with great sadness that the family of Marlon Martinez Anin announces his passing on Thursday April 27, 2023 at the age of 55. Marlon was born on the 7th of April, 1968 to parents, Loreta and Renato Anin. Together with his parents and sister, he immigrated to California, USA in 1987. In 1992, he returned to the Philippines to pursue his college education and where he met the love of his life, Evelyn (Joy) Anin. He graduated from De Ocampo Memorial College with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology in April 1999. He was highly regarded for his expertise in Clinical Laboratory Technology and considered an asset where he worked: Kaweah Health Medical Center, Adventist Health Hanford and Sierra View Hospital. He was a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for 22 years. Marlon and Joy had been happily married since September 1995. Not being blessed with a child did not lessen their love for each other. Instead, it made their love for each other stronger. They completed each other. Marlon lived a good life, always thinking of others before himself, going as far as planning his own funeral services to ease Joy's worries. Marlon's family is grateful to all family and friends for the comfort, care and emotional support provided during his four-year battle with cancer. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that life can be short, live your life to the fullest with no regrets. Marlon will be remembered forever by his wife and best friend of 27 years, Evelyn (Joy); his father, Renato Anin; his sister and brother-in-law, Lourdes (Marilou) and Todd Mertens; his niece, Michelle Mertens; and his nephew, Michael Mertens. He was predeceased by his mother, Loreta Anin, who recently died on January 3, 2023. "God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. " Vigil will be held 4pm Friday, May 12th, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N.
