"Ronald Thomas Ruiz, 75, peacefully passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, after a brief, but valiant battle with lung cancer. Ronald was born on September 112, 1948, in New Orleans. Louisiana. He grew up in Metairie, Louisiana, later moving to Memphis, Tennessee in 1993 with his wife. He graduated from Delgado Community College in 1966, majoring in multiple trades. Ronald was a perfectionist and chef extraordinaire. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Thomas Ruiz, mother Rose Marie Bienvenu Ruiz, brother Milton Ruiz, and his beloved canine children, Frankie, Lillee, Pepsi, Scooter, and Ziggy. Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Gail Neff Ruiz; his sons, Ronald, Jerry, and Tommie Ruiz (Cheryl); steps-sons, James (Rachel), Gregg (Rebekah), Jason (Dana) Garofalo; sister Joan R. Eldridge (John); brothers, Stephen and Bryan Ruiz; grandchildren, Kadie, Madison, Zach, Melanie, Allison, Grady, Cole, Mia, Penny, Barrett, Serafina, Sloane, Sofia, Charlie, and a host of nieces and nephews. "Linda Lee Carr (Weston), 80, of Memphis, Tennessee, received her heavenly reward on December 7, 2023. \u0026nbsp; After many years of declining health, in which she fought every battle, she is now at rest. She was born on June 15, 1943, in Holcomb, Missouri, to Lyda Sanders and Joyce Weston. Linda was a loyal and loving individual, known for her dedication to her family and friends. Linda is survived by her daughter, Teresa Washington (Ronnie), her granddaughter, Ashley Gault (Dustin), and her grandson, Tyler Washington (Holly). She is also survived by her sisters, Kaye Weston and Elaine Anglin (Jim). She was blessed with five great grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Lyda Sanders, and her father, Joyce Weston. Linda attended Treadwell High School and later built a successful career at General Electric Memphis Lamp Plant, where she retired. She continued to stay busy after retirement at Schnuck\u0027s, and Kroger. In her free time, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and solving crossword puzzles. A graveside memorial service for Linda will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home \u0026amp; Cemetery, located at 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10;00 am. She was known to all as a loving person and daughter whose life purpose was taking beautiful care of her mother, Amy. She is preceded in death by her father, Mack DeArmey and leaves behind her mother, Amy DeArmey, brother, Michael DeArmey (Stephanie), granddaughter, Lisa Weaver (John), great-niece, Ellen Daily (Alex), and great-nephew, David Weaver. John grew up in Memphis, TN. , where he met and later married his wife, Euda Jodie Frazier, December 12, 1971. He lived a simple life where he enjoyed fishing and playing golf in his spare time. John attended Memphis State University and worked as a stagehand for many years. Family was a passion for Mr. John, followed closely by his church and love of community. "Mr. Harry Russell Armstrong III was born December 6, 1946, the first son of Harry and Rosie Armstrong. Harry Armstrong was a quiet young man. He enlisted in the military at the age of eighteen. He completed his education in the military and achieved his GED. During his service in the military, he was an inquisitive young man who was eager to learn. Following basic training in the Army, he was sent to war in Vietnam, determined to be the best he could be. He became an expert missile sharpshooter, saving many lives in his platoon. He would always say he never missed a target. My brother did a lot of things in the military that I had little knowledge of, but today, he is my hero. Upon his discharge from the military, Harry started working for Illinois Central Railroad. His duties were to ensure that the railway remained clear and safe with navigable maintenance of way. He inspected and replaced worn-out parts, etc. ; Harry carried out his roles which carried a lot of responsibility. He retired after 25 years of service. Harry gave his life to God in his later years and joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church on South Parkway under the leadership of Pastor Eric L. Winston, Sr. Harry was a kindhearted person, always giving and sharing. He was loved by many and everyone spoke highly of him. He was mild-mannered and quiet. He loved to ride in a nice car and loved to dress really nice; he was loved by many. On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, he transitioned to his final home. Grateful for my nephew, Dewayne Lee Armstrong, and his friend for assisting me in taking care of his uncle during his final days of life. Harry had no children of his own. He is survived by four sisters and one brother, Doris J. Quinn, Juanita Lee Armstong, Ida Mae (Lonnie) Doggett, Rubystein Armstrong, and Anthony Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. William Lovelace

"J. William (Bill) Lovelace, adoring husband and beloved father, 86, of Memphis, Tennessee passed away at his home December 4, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father Jesse O. Lovelace, his mother Gertrude C. Lovelace and his sister Helen L. Clyburn. Although his battle with serious medical issues in recent years left his body weakened, he faced these challenges with strength, courage and hope until the end. Bill leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Bobbie P. Lovelace, daughters Leslee L. Pascal and Lisa L. Holliday (Craig), son Christopher C. Lovelace, sister-in-law Sylvia P. Cochran (Bill) six grandchildren, five great-granddaughters and a bounty of nieces and nephews. Our family is bereft at this loss as he was our rock and lifelong example for a faithful Christian life filled with laughter, generosity, kindnesses, and amazing memories built through fulfilling dreams. Bill was born on December 3,1937 to Jesse and Gertrude Lovelace in Poplar Bluff, MO. He graduated from Poplar Bluff HS in 1954 at the age of 16 and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed in Hawaii for 2 years during active service and was honorably discharged in 1962 after an additional 2 years in the Reserves. Following his time in the Corps, Bill attended the University of Missouri and graduated in 3 years with a B. S. Degree in Accounting. While there, he was an active member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Bill moved to Memphis in 1960 and joined Holiday Inn as their twenty-first employee. He remained with Holiday Inn for 9 years and, ultimately, became Controller. Bill often remarked that the business experience and knowledge he gained as part of this history-making company was invaluable and kickstarted a 40\u0026#43; year career in the hospitality industry. Following Holiday Inn, Bill moved his family to the West Coast to become Vice President of Finance for Shakey's Pizza. Four years later, he was brought on board with Servico, a publicly held, 5,000\u0026#43; employee company specializing in hotel acquisition and management, eventually becoming President at the age of 37. Simultaneously, Bill formed a restaurant company and developed multiple Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburger stores in Texas. After being an employee of large companies for 20 years, Bill decided to use his experience and knowledge to form his own hotel company - Dominion Hospitality Management. In 1991, after 13 years of private ownership, Dominion merged with RFS. Joined together under the flagship of RFS, the company made financial history by becoming the first Hotel Real Estate Trust to be publicly traded and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. As President of RFS, Bill was responsible for the hotel acquisition portfolio and purchased 60 properties with a net worth of over one billion dollars and a personnel base of 7,000. Bill retired from the service industry in 1998, although he continued to consult for many years. Bill was a member of Second Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years serving as Deacon and Elder. He was involved in several Christian organizations including Ministry to Men on the Board of Directors and the Ministry to Men Foundation as President. He travelled across the country giving his testimony and encouraging businessmen to allow their faith to be reflected in their daily career lives. His Bible was forever within arms-length of his desk. Although gone from us now, nothing will ever erase the impact Bill has had on our family. His devotion to his wife was unparalleled. He loved us all completely and showered us with expressions of that love through mountain climbing, sailing, fly-fishing and remarkable vacations that we relive every time we are together. We are joyful that his body is whole again and that his greatest dream of all is now fulfilled through a new life with Christ. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 12 at 12:30 p. m. with a funeral service at 1:30 p. m. all in the Fireside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Marjorie Perry, her brothers, Frank and Mike Perry and her beloved daughter, Lindsey O\u0027Brien. She is survived by her husband, John O\u0027Brien, her children, Noah and Alexis Loudenslager, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A retired nurse from Methodist University Hospital, she had a 35-year career in the cardiovascular intensive care unit. She was a caring and dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren. It\u0027s never easy to say goodbye to someone who has been a part of our lives. When that person is gone, there\u0027s a hole where she used to be in your life. While saying goodbye means accepting that a part of our life is over, it also provides us with a chance to realize just how blessed our lives have been and blessed we have all been to have journeyed with this amazing woman.
