Mark Stephen Scott, passed away on September 7, 2023, in Vincennes, Indiana. Born on September 18, 1956, in FT Leonard Wood, Missouri, Mark was the son of the late Mack and Jacquelyn (Wallem) Scott. He was predeceased by his brother John Scott and sister-in-law Vickie Scott. Despite these losses, Mark's spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to inspire those around him with his resilience and positivity. He is survived by his brothers; Thomas Scott of New Llano Louisiana, Bill (Kyre) Cleveland of Vincennes, Indiana, his sisters Ann Scott Vorack of Chicago, Illinois, and Kathy Scott Perry of Eden Prairie Mark was a Veteran of the United States Army and later an assistant manager for McDonald's, he was known for his love of sports and literature and was an avid basketball, football, and baseball enthusiast. Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 5-7 at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel with a vigil service immediately following at 7:00 P. M. . A graveside will follow on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 A. M. Memorial contributions maybe made in Mark's memory to the Lincoln High School Athletics. Richard R. Malott, 75, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Tuesday December 5, 2023 at his residence. Richard was born January 16, 1948 in Vincennes the son of Herbert and Mildred Fields Malott. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and he served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Sharon Boger on Jan 28, 1968 and they made their life together for 44 years until her death on November 20, 2012. Richard was a heavy equipment operator through the Union Local 841 during his working career. He held memberships in the American Legion, Knox County Sportsman's Club, Coon Hunters Club, and a former member of the Vincennes Boat Club. He is survived by his children, Amy McCoy, and her husband Greg of Vincennes and Rick Malott, and his wife Birgit of Bicknell, IN. Grandchildren, Ryan (Amy) Malott, Kirsten (Shawanna) Malott, Trevor (Makayla) Malott, Greg (Joanna) McCoy Jr, Macie (Josh) Ivers, Courtney (Randy) Stafford, Payton ( Christian) Starnes, Kylie (James) McCoy, TyeBoy McCoy and Taydum McCoy and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Terry Malott of Vincennes, Herb (Lee Ann) Malott of Vincennes and a sister Cindy Faith of Vincennes, IN. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Malott, his parents, a brother, Randy Malott and a sister, Helen Jean Wright. Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday December 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Patricia A. Later, age 91, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, in Seymour, Indiana, her home after a life rich in family and community connections in Vincennes. Born on April 1, 1932, in Vincennes, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Lovina (Richardville) Kotter. Patricia's life was one of dedication, love, and steadfast faith, reflected in her longstanding marriage to the late Dean Later after their union at St. Thomas Catholic Church on November 17, 1951. Patricia's memory will be held dear by her loving family, including her children, Deborah Frey (Dennis) of Seymour, Frank Later (Sarah) of Anderson, Christopher Dean Later (Patricia) of Washington along with her daughter-in-law, Cindy (Later) Russel, wife of the late Stephen Later" of Vincennes. She was a beacon of joy in the lives of her grandchildren Nathan Frey, Ryan Frey, Patrick Frey, Aaron Frey, Stephanie Latta, Keith Later, Kristen Stout, Alicia O'Maley, and Erica Hill, as well as her seventeen great-grandchildren. Her sister, Carolyn Pohl of Vincennes, also survives her. Patricia's legacy extends beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her. With a sorrowful heart, we recognize that Patricia was preceded in death not only by her husband, Dean, but also by her beloved sons, Edward and Stephen Later, a cherished grandson, Nicholas Later, and her dear siblings, Norman, Herbert, Ralph, James, Bob Kotter, Janet Perry, and Linda Kotter. Patricia's role as a devoted homemaker was the cornerstone of her life, evident in her joy of spending time with her family. She was an active member of her community, where her faith guided her service through the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, St. Thomas Alter Society, and her dedicated participation on the St. Thomas Parish Council, where she served two terms. Her inexhaustible involvement in the church was one of the many ways she expressed her commitment to her beliefs and her community. The void left by Patricia's departure is immense, yet her spirit and the love she fostered in her family and community will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on earth may have ended, but the impact of her generous heart and unwavering commitment to her loved ones will resonate for generations to come. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 11:00 A. M. with father Tony Ernst officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A. M. until 11:00 A. M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church 6268 S. St. Thomas Rd. Vincennes, IN 47591. Burial will follow in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery. Bonnie D. Sorensen, 74 of Vincennes, IN, passed away Tuesday November 28, 2023 at Richland Bean Blossom Health Center. Bonnie was born May 6, 1949 in Vincennes the daughter of Jack and Norma Fiddler Turner. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Vincennes University. She worked as a secretary in the Radiology Department of Good Samaritan Hospital where she retired. She held membership in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, and formerly at 1st Church of God. She served her country in the U. S. Army having attained the rank of Staff Segarent. She was active with the Knox County Humane Society. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and she will be missed by her constant companion "Macadoo"Bonnie is survived by daughters, her namesake, Bonnie Suzanne Corwin and her husband Christopher of Charlotte, NC and Amy Catherine Fesler and her husband Jonathon of Bloomington, IN. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Abigail Corwin and is expecting her second granddaughter, Gwen Fesler around Christmas and a brother, Jack Turner of Robinson, IL. Mary Catherine Pourchot McCord passed away November 23, 2023 in Vincennes, Indiana at the age of 91. Mary was born on October 21, 1932 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Walter Pourchot and Lora Pierson Pourchot. While working at Pat's Drive-In, she met Melvin McCord, whom she married on November 5, 1949 at Real Avenue Christian Church in Vincennes, Indiana. Together they welcomed three children, Karen, Lloyd, and David. Her family grew to include 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Throughout Mary's life, she held various jobs, including a position at Harold's, P. N. Hirsch, and Harrison Grade School. She was a homemaker who later opened her own bronzing business, Forget-Me-Not Bronzing, and later, Forget-Me-Not Christian Book Store. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau sorority. Mary was passionate about God, family and friends. She was an active member of Franklin Heights Christian Church, from leading Bible studies to serving as a Sunday School teacher. Mary could often be found at the local McDonald's catching up with friends and neighbors over a cup of coffee, or going to Paradise Lake camping and fishing with family and friends. Mary is remembered as a loving soul, with zest for life, love, and competitive games, playing cards, she would say, "There's no family in cards. "GOD definitely gained another angel. Mary is survived by her children Karen (Brian) Burch, Lloyd (Maureen) McCord, and David (Joan) McCord, along with grandchildren Jason (Aimee) Westfall, Michael (Ashley) Westfall, Malia (Nick) Leach, Jacob (Lindsay) McCord, Hannah McCord, Caleb (Malika) McCord, Kaylee (Moses) Jones, Kamron (Gabrielle) Ramsier, and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Melvin McCord, her parents, brothers Bo Pourchot and Bob Pourchot, sister Dorothy Baker, and grandson Ken McCord. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 29, 2023 with Rod Carie officiating at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Melvin in Memorial Park Cemetery. He attended Lincoln High School and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed video gaming, being with his friends and family at any function. He was full of life enjoying every opportunity the Good Lord gave him. Ryan was compassionate, empathetic and charismatic. Everyone loved his presence and he always had a smile on his face. Ryan knew that there was enough of anything to go around for anyone to enjoy. His true passion was laughter and love it's the only thing he strived for.
