Marjorie Tracy Orsak Jurek, 81, was born on March 25, 1942 in Sealy, Texas to the late Adolph and Theresa Mikel Orsak. Marjorie graduated from East Bernard High School in 1961. She met the love of her life, Mel-Roy Jurek, at the skating rink in Wallis, Texas and they wed on November 19, 1961. They enjoyed life together for 54 years and were blessed with 3 wonderful children. As a family, they enjoyed trips to Matagorda for fishing and eating Marjorie's amazing homemade fried chicken. They enjoyed playing bingo, watching sports, playing dominos, working around their home in the garden and flower beds. Marjorie had a love for cooking and enjoyed being in the kitchen. Some of her family's favorites were fried chicken, pork chops, vegetables from their garden and corn fritters. In her later years, Marjorie liked to challenge herself piecing together puzzles and completing word searches. She loved spending time with her son in law, Roger watching their "Westerns" and game shows. Marjorie also enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren playing games and watching cartoons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Mel-Roy Jurek, son Randy Jurek, sisters Florence Jasek and Mary Prokop and great granddaughter Alyssa Gonzalez. Marjorie is survived by her sister, Albina Jasek; her son, Wayne Jurek; daughter Theresa West Spillers and husband, Roger. Grandchildren; Scotty West and Tara, Sean West and Graciela, Shain West and wife, Rebecca, Amanda Jurek and Paul, Ashley Gonzalez. Great Grandchildren; Brooke West, Levi West, Blayne West, Jayden Maldonado, Avery Gonzalez, Slate West, Trevor Gonzalez, Jase Maldonado, Jaxon Maldonado, Aubrey Gonzalez and Liam West. Marjorie T. Jurek, "Little Grandma" gained her angel wings on September 2, 2023. There will be a gathering of friends on Saturday, September 16, 2023 with visitation starting at 9:00 a. m. at the Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton, Texas. Pastor Harry Brisco will lead a Celebration of Life at 9:30 a. m. followed by a reciting of the rosary. Felicita Moreno LopezMarch 31, 1941 - December 4, 2023 Felicita Lopez, 82, of Wharton, Tx passed away on Monday December 4, 2023, at a Wharton hospital following a brief illness. She was born on March 31, 1941, in Fredericksburg, Texas to the late Antonio and Rafaela Aleman Moreno. Felicita was raised in the Fredericksburg area and attended school there. She married Juvenal Lopez in 1995 in Bay City. They made their home in Wharton for many years. Felicita was a homemaker and loved being outside tending her garden and plants. She loved Thanksgiving and making her dressing for the family. She enjoyed crocheting, spoiling her grandchildren and playing with her cats and dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ricarda Moreno and brothers, Bridgio Moreno, Paul Moreno, and Tony Moreno and her son in law, Jose Muniz. Felicita is survived by her husband, Juvenal Lopez of Wharton, daughters, Virginia Muniz of Boling, Theresa Bosque of Wharton, Sara Rivera and husband, Ray of East Bernard, and Rosa Romero of Fort Worth, son, Prudencio Marques and wife, Corinna of Ft Worth, sister, Elida Availa of Wharton and brother, "Beto" Sylvester Moreno of Ft Worth, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Jesse "Jr" Vega, 66, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Jesse was born the second youngest of seven children to Jesse and Ignacia Vega on April 23, 1957, in Bay City, Texas. Jesse grew up in Bay City, Texas and graduated from Bay City High School in 1976. He married Cynthia Garza in 1979 and settled down in Wharton, Texas. They welcomed their first child Candace in 1982 and then their son Brian in 1986. Jesse worked for the Valero cooperation for many years while his children were young and growing up and later transitioned to working for Enterprise Rent a Car. Jesse always worked hard to make sure that his family and children were taken care of. Jesse wore many titles, son, brother, dad, grandfather "Pops" and friend. Jesse had a passion for football and sports. He loved going to Tejano dances, listening to music, going to concerts, fishing, cooking Bar-b-que with his son, and most of all he loved spending time with his four grandchildren Elena, Sebastian, Evelyn, and Elyse. Jesse went to every game his son coached and was so very proud of Brian, he also went to every possible game his grandchildren played in. His grandchildren were his everything and they loved going to church on Sundays, going to lunch dates to Cuevas and 9er's, and Dairy Queen for ice cream with their Pops. Jesse is preceded in death by his mom Ignacia, dad Jesse, his sisters Susie and Betty. He is survived by his children Candace Cardoza (Juan Cardoza), Brian Vega (Sandra Vega), his grandchildren Elena, Sebastian, Evelyn, and Elyse, his sisters, Anna Garcia (Jesse), Hopie Cisneros (Fidencio), Catherine Hernandez, and Alice Stanford and many nieces and nephews. David Wayne Dusak September 16th 1956 - October 4th 2023 David Wayne Dusak passed into the arms of the Lord peacefully on October 4th 2023 at his residence in Danevang, Texas. He was born September 16th 1956 in Wharton, Texas to the late Albert Dusak and Mildred Marling Dusak. David was a man of many skills. While he was a student at Wharton High School, and upon his graduation, he worked as a ranch hand for Thomas Abel and Dr. Frank Mann DVM. He honed his skills as a cowboy and gained experience in the field of bovine artificial insemination. It was during this time that the simmental breed was introduced and gaining popularity in Texas. When the South Texas Nuclear Plant Project construction began, David seized the opportunity for more gainful employment and was one of the first to be hired on. He would later move on to a career working out at Dow Chemical plant in Freeport, Texas where he retired in 2018 as a remediation technician. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the Wharton Fire Department for over 15 years where he attained the rank of Captain. David had many hobbies including fishing, hunting, carpentry work, gardening, and spending time with his family. His meticulous gardening skills were awarded "Yard of the Month" by the Wharton Garden Club. David is survived by his daughter Heather Dusak Givens and her husband James Givens of Danevang, Sisters Deborah Goad of Wharton, Linda Marquardt of Illinois, Grandchildren David "Justin" Koudela, Dustie Skye Koudela, Taylor Raye Givens and great grandchildren Marley Rae Koudela, David "Wayne" Koudela, and Stoney Ray Koudela. Stanley Albert Konvicka, 86, of Wharton, TX passed away on August 30, 2023 in a Houston hospital. He was born on July 27, 1937, in Wharton to the late Frank and Mary Malek Konvicka. Stanley was raised in the Wharton area and attended school in Wharton. He served our country honorably in the United States Army and was a farmer all his life. On November 27, 1963, he married Bessie Merta in Taiton, TX. They celebrated 59 years together and were blessed with eight children. Stanley enjoyed meeting his friends in the mornings at the coffee shop (the office) and was known as a first-class sauerkraut and wine maker. He loved being outdoors and could often be found on his tractor or feeding and checking on his cattle. Stanley loved to try his luck in Louisiana occasionally and on scratch-offs almost daily. He loved to fish the Colorado River and Matagorda. The week-long fishing trip he took with his sons, other family members and friends, to Choke Canyon State Park, was an annual highlight, and a source of hilarious stories, inside jokes, and treasured memories. Many a fisherman came to him to get their bait and swap fishing stories. Stanley had a big garden and was always willing to share with others, as he and Bessie sold their many goods at the Farmer's Market in Wharton. Stanley always had a joke to tell, and many were told multiple times. He was an usher at Holy Family Catholic Church and the Lenten fish fry's will not be the same without him as the hushpuppy fryer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Ben, and Ed Konvicka, brother - in-law Daniel Brod and sisters-in-law Elsie and Ruby Konvicka. Stanley is survived by his wife, Bessie Konvicka, daughters, Irene Hlavinka and husband, Gary of Hungerford, Denise Zamazal and husband, Frank of Needville and Christi Meador and husband, Jeff of Gadsden, AL, sons, Stanley J. Konvicka and wife, Stephanie of Boling, Steven Konvicka and wife, Stacie of Wharton, Allen Konvicka and wife, Melissa of Deer Park, Richard Konvicka and wife, Angie of Weimar, and David Konvicka and wife, Cylinda of Wharton, sisters, Lillian Brod of Wharton and Mary Ann Polasek and husband, Theo of Montgomery, sisters-in-law Bettie and Helen Konvicka, grandchildren, Ashley Lucher and husband, Jared, Amanda Kitzmiller and husband, Cody, Christopher Hlavinka and wife, Korenna, Cody Hlavinka and wife, Sarah, Jody Konvicka, Matthew and Kayla Konvicka, Chaz Duhon- LeBlanc and wife, Brittany, Quintin Zukywich and fiancee Kimmy Taft, Paige Zukywich, Kyle and Abby Konvicka, Blayne White and wife, Sarah, Brett & Brynn White, Andrew Zamazal, Hailey, Holden and Taylor Meador, great grandchildren, Callie, Case, and Colt Kitzmiller, Emma, Logan, and Danika Hlavinka, Leah and Evan Lucher, Luke and Noah Hlavinka and Ryleigh Zukywich, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
