Marion Krachtus, age 76, of Caryville TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2023. She was of the Catholic faith. She loved to play cards and go to Cherokee North Carolina. She loved coffee and had a laugh that would light up a room. Preceded in death by husband John Ediger. Survived by special friends Rebecca Wolff, Lynn Anders, Rodney Gibson, and Carl Dougherty; her dogs Cocoa, Bobo and Sassy. No services are planned at this time. Billy Monroe (Buddy) Hale, age 85, of Caryville, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. He was a member of Caryville First Baptist Church. Buddy was a 1957 graduate of Jacksboro High-School and married his high-school sweet heart Katy Disney on Christmas Day 1958. He joined the Army after high-school where he served overseas in Europe as a Supply Clerk. After living and working in Dayton, Ohio, for 10 years, Buddy returned home to Caryville. He was a dedicated public servant for almost 30 years. Buddy served as a mail-carrier for the U. S. Postal Service; Caryville Police Chief; and retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services. Buddy enjoyed life in retirement working on his outdoor projects. He had a love of music and adored singing and spending time with his grandson who shared that love with him. Buddy was proceeded in death by his wife Katy (Disney) Hale; mother and step-dad, Lexie and George Loy; nephew Jessie Loy; and all aunts and uncles who were like siblings. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Quentin and Camille Hale; grandson, Brandon Hale; great-granddaughter Ava Bowles; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Theresa Loy; nephews Jeremy and Remy Loy; Loving Cousin, Venna and husband Joe Eilers; Special Friend and Caregiver, Ethel Brock; and Sister, Paula Lowe. Family will receive friends Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Cross-Smith Funeral Home from 5-7 PM with the funeral immediately following in Cross-Smith Chapel, Reverend Chris Stanley officiating. Family and friends will meet August 7, Monday, at 10:15 AM at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Campbell County Memorial Gardens for 11 AM Interment. Audra Lee Gipson, age 74 of Caryville, Tennessee passed away on July 27, 2023 at his residence. Audra was born in Anderson County, Tennessee to the late Paul Gipson Sr and Dorothy Ophelia Driver Gipson. Audra was a member of Hope and Stand Church. He was a member of the local Coal Creek Masonic Lodge, a United States Army Veteran, and a criminal investigator for the Anderson County District Attorney's Office for many years. Audra is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Gipson Sr and Dorothy Ophelia Driver Gipson. Survivors: Sons William Gipson and Joseline of Valparaiso, Indiana Paul E. Surrounded by her family, Carolyn Adkins Jordan, 82, passed away on July 8th,2022 at her home in Caryville, Tennessee. Carolyn had the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife and a nurturer of her children and grandchildren. As a Christian, she planted seeds of faith in her children; these are her treasures in heaven. She was a member of Caryville United Methodist Church and retired from the Oak Ridge K-25 Gaseous Diffusion Plant. Preceded in death by her parents Roy and Trula Douglas Adkins; her sister, Anita Reish; brothers Joe Adkins and Bob Adkins, and great grandson Brady Marshall Goins. She is survived by loving husband of nearly 59 years, Fred Jordan; devoted daughters Karen Wilder and husband Dwane; Cindi Hicks and husband Phil Hicks. Beloved Grandmama to Autumn Longmire, Shannon Wilder, Drew Hicks and Tyler Hicks. Great grandmama to Amelia Longmire, Lincoln Longmire, Arthur Longmire, Kellan Wilder Clapp, and Sunni Hicks. Loving sisters, Faye Chesser and Wanda Wiessinger. Several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family. She will be deeply missed by all; her family takes comfort in knowing she is free from suffering and that they will see her once more in heaven. Lorena Sweney, 80, of Connersville, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Wednesday evening, May 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 1, 1941 in Caryville, Tennessee, one of ten children of Jim and Ethel Evans Crabtree. On December 14, 1957, she married David D. Sweney, Sr. in Fayette County, and they made Connersville their home. Mr. Sweney passed away December 7, 2010. Lorena was employed at Philco-Ford for a number of years. She was a member of the Harrisburg Union Church. Lorena and her husband David also had a jail ministry for 17 years. A devoted mother and grandmother, Lorena's greatest pleasure was found in the love she gave her children and grandchildren. Survivors include four children, Teresa (Ronald) Moore, David (Melanie White) Sweney, Jr. , and John (Connie) Sweney, Sr. , all of Connersville, and Brian (Dana) Sweney of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; eight grandchildren, Vanessa Moore, Jessica (Brandon) Welch, James (Tessa) Sweney, Tristen (Nokomis) Sweney, and John Sweney, Jr. , all of Connersville, Felicia Sweney of Richmond, Dylan Sweney of Blooming Grove, Indiana, and Justin (Eleana) Sweney of Westfield, Indiana; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Molly Russell of Caryville, Tennessee, Gearline Shelley of Connersville, and Brenda (Larry) Berry of Hagerstown; two brothers, Bobby (Linda) Crabtree of Connersville and Lester (Marsha) Crabtree of Liberty; a sister-in-law, Judy Crabtree of Sunman, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, David D. Sweney, Sr. ; a grandson, David James Gardner; two sisters, Mabel Fraley and Shelby Coleman; and two brothers, Condy R. L. Crabtree and Harvey Crabtree. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p. m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home where friends may visit from 10:00 a. m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Village Creek Cemetery.
