After graduation from Bethlehem High School Marion spent a year at Moravian Preparatory School. She received a BA degree from Wilson College majoring in Languages. Upon graduating in 1944 she was recruited by the Army to go to Washington as a code breaker. She was true to her oath and never revealed much as to what she did. She then taught at New Hope Solebury High School, multiple languages including French which she would occasionally use until her final days. She met Earl in New Hope and after a short romance was married. She and Earl had over 57 years together before his passing in 2004. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, and confidant to her family. She enjoyed many trips with her immediate and extended families. Some of her favorites were going to Atlantic City and listening to big band music on the Steel Pier, Williamsburg to catch up on American History, Hawaii, Nassau and Yellowstone. But she was not too keen on the camping trips her family took as she did not share in the love of mosquitos and outhouses. She volunteered for 23 years with Meals on Wheels in Newtown.
