Marina Hernandez Obituary

Marina Hernandez, 85, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully, October 4, 2023, at the home of her daughters. She was born January 21, 1938, in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, the daughter of the late Demetrio and Eleonor (Cuadrado) Delgado. Marina worked for many years at a men's wallet factor in Puerto Rico before she moved to the United States 15 years ago to be closer to her family. Mrs. Hernandez was a member of the Iglesia Primitive Pentecostal Church where she enjoyed singing. She enjoyed cleaning and always wanted things to be tidy and orderly. She would often be found reorganizing things. She enjoyed reading and cooking but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family. Marina is survived by her children, Hector and Edwin Hernandez, both of Philadelphia, PA, Ruth M. Castro, Elizabeth Lagares, Gladys Hernandez, and Carlos Hernandez, all of Ashtabula, of Wilmington, DE, Maribel Hernandez of Toledo, OH, and Luis A. Hernandez of San Lorenzo, PR; sisters, Sara and Elizabeth Delgado; brothers, Juan, Bienvenido, Israel, and Jose H. Delgado, all of Puerto Rico; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildrenShe was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gerardo Hernandez, who passed on April 25, 2010; son, Gerardo Hernandez, Jr. , brother, Gerardo Hernandez, Jr; and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 1PM at the Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Ave. , Ashtabula with Pastor Sandra Cancel of the Iglesia Primitive Pentecostal Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville, Ohio. Calling hours will be held from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
