Age - 88

"Bonnie Jean Willard, 88, beloved mother, wife, and homemaker, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born March 23, 1935, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Wiley and Lavon Pilkenton. She had two sisters, the youngest of which proceeded her in death, along with her parents. She grew up in Pittsburg, where she met and married William Donald Willard. They lived in Burlington, Vermont, Kansas City, Missouri, and finally settled in Columbus, Kansas to raise a family. After Bill's retirement, they moved to Table Rock Lake. She loved lake life -- swimming, boating, water skiing, or just sitting on the deck, taking in the view. She and Bill were married for 56 years. Bill preceded her in death in 2011. A devoted wife and mother, Bonnie ran The Craft Nook in Columbus and continued crafting when she moved to the Ozarks. She and Bill enjoyed square dancing and socializing with their friends in Emerald Beach. They were members of the All Faith United Methodist Church in Eagle Rock, Missouri. A tough and resilient woman, Bonnie survived a heart attack, third degree burns, and three rambunctious sons. Raising a family on an insurance salesman's salary, she could stretch a dollar for days with plenty of love left to go around. She never met a craft fair or Hallmark movie she couldn't pass up. As for chocolate, pity the poor soul that got between she and it. She was exceptional at sewing and was an accomplished artisan. She could make anything from anything. She loved playing bridge and solitaire, catching up on her favorite soap operas, and binging Murder She Wrote on Peacock. In her later years, she relied heavily on the friendship of her Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters who meant the world to her. She is survived by her sister, Judy Beerman of Bloomington, Indiana, her three sons, William G. Willard and wife Teresa of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Bradley Willard and wife Megan of Riverside, Florida, and Christopher Willard of Golden, Missouri; she has two granddaughters, three grandsons, four great grandchildren, and scores of cousins, nieces and nephews. Bonnie leaves behind endless stories, fond memories, and boxes full of every magazine clipping known to womankind. She will be missed terribly. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced soon. She and Bill will receive burial at Fayetteville National Cemetery this Spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to the Eureka Springs chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Gaylen Ruth Taylor passed away on November 26, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was born on August 1, 1956 in Bryan, Texas to Robert and Nita Haveron. A woman of courage yet compassion, Gaylen leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering strength. Gaylen dedicated her life to caring for others as a CNA (Certified Nursing) and through her volunteer work mentoring the children of her church. As a faithful follower of Jesus Christ our Lord, Gaylen's church home was special to her and it was on on October 16, 2014 she was reborn again in faith. Gaylen's true joy came from spending time with her family- children, grandchildren, and of course her pup, Gracie! These precious moments were the pillars of her happiness. She enjoyed puzzles, tending to her plants, and the flavors of Mexican food. Her relentless work ethic was an inspiration to all who knew her; giving up was never an option for Gaylen. Instead, she relied on the power of prayer. One of Gaylen's proudest days was the day she triumphantly rang the bell at MD Anderson – a symbol of her victory over cancer. Greeting Gaylen in Heaven are her parents, Robert and Nita Haveron; and her brother, Zack Haveron. Gaylen's memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of her surviving family and friends. She leaves behind her daughters, Amber Edie (Matt) and April Judd; sons, Michael Taylor and Michael Myrick (Amy); grandchildren, Lexi Norris, Luke Cash, Noah Cash, Kohl Cash, Mickey Taylor, Harley Taylor, Kaden Myrick, Kylie Myrick, and Gavin Myrick; siblings, Marlene Holliday, Julie Mullins, Lisa Evans, Aaron Haveron, and Tammy Boller; and her loyal companion, Gracie. The family extends special gratitude to Gaylen's best friends, Debbie Breedlove and Sherian Blough, and to her church family for their love and support. Gaylen's presence will forever be missed but her spirit will continue to guide us as we navigate life's journey. In both our grief and joyous memories alike, may we remember the incredible woman who touched our lives in unimaginable ways.Show more

Nancy Phillips

Nancy Phillips

Age - 78

November 29, 2023

"Our dear mom, Nancy Jane Phillips, of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed on Sunday November 19, 2023 at 78 years old. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Dr. Robert and Jayne Calaway. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Paul Calaway. She is survived by her children, Todd Phillips, Kristy Clason, Eric Phillips (Kaley). Nancy's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren Tyree Phillips, Corey Phillips, Tucker Phillips, Kaiden Carlton, and Kaleb Carlton. As well as her great -grandchildren Alejandro, Sofia, Alicia, Cairo, and Hayes. She is also survived by her sisters Camille (James) Anderson, Trisha (Tommy) Walden, brother Robert (Vicki) Calaway Jr and many cherished nieces and nephews, family members, friends and loved ones. Nancy's early years were filled with a passion for horses, she learned to barrel race and earned rodeo queen titles. While attending college, she discovered Latin and that zeal led her to a 30 year career that she adored with the University of Arkansas Law Library. She was a fervent reader her entire life, another passion she was able to channel into her career. As a devoted Razorbacks fan, she held season tickets for football, basketball, baseball, always wearing red and cheering for the Hogs! Even in her last days in the ICU, always making sure if the Razorbacks were playing a game was on bringing her that familiarity and comfort. She expressed her creativity through knitting throws and afghans. She later fell in love with quilting. Most important to her was the joy radiated through her grandchildren and great grandchildren , who brought her immense love and happiness. Morning drives to school, held the ritual of reciting the Lord's Prayer. Often rushed with a variety of abbreviated versions with pop-tarts in hand-not allowed to leave the car without reciting it. Our Father, who art in Heaven; hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory forever. Amen On Nancy's behalf, her family would like to thank all of her friends, family and University of Arkansas Law Library community for their love and support. Additionally, we would like to thank Dr. Pascal her specialist for helping us with her care. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held, and details will be announced on this website.
