Paulette Bridgette Lee, age 59, of Portsmouth, VA, gracefully departed this world on Sunday, November 26th, surrounded by the unwavering love of her devoted husband, Ron. Born on July 17, 1964 in Princess Margaret Hospital, Nassau, Bahamas, Paulette graced the world with her presence as the cherished daughter of Jethro and Minerva Finley. From early in her childhood, her special spirit and compassionate nature shone brightly. Her deep affection for her grandmother, fondly known as "Ma Harriett", led her to move to Long Island, Bahamas to be with her. There she attended Mooresville Primary School. Upon returning to Nassau, Paulette completed her high school studies at St Anne's High School. From there she went on to further her education at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. After arriving in Virginia, Paulette graduated with honors, from the dental assistance program at Old Dominion University in Norfolk. She spent over 20 years in the dental industry, most of it as head dental assistant at the Foleck Center, where she retired in 2021. Paulette became well known, loved and respected in the Hampton Road, Virginia dental community. Paulette met her future soulmate, Ronald, through his cousin Toxie Ricks in 2001. In 2004, they married in a lavish wedding ceremony in Las Vegas, NV and enjoyed and flourished in a 19-year union. During quiet times, Paulette enjoyed watching her favorite players play tennis. It was nothing for her to set the alarm for early morning matches she was eager to see. Also, Paulette was fascinated with real life murder mysteries that would appear on Dateline NBC or the Investigation Discovery channel. After retirement, she would spend time making beaded costume jewelry. In addition to her husband Ronald, Paulette leaves behind to cherish her memory brothers Chesley (Debbie) and Patrick Finley. She was a special aunt to Delicia, Patrick and Jayden Finley, all of Nassau. And a special aunt to Fatimah (Darius), Khadijah, Josh and Thomas, all of Philadelphia, PA. Paulette also enjoyed special bonds with her sister-in-laws, Denise Finley of Nassau, Crystal Dill of Beaumont TX, Lisa Corbin and Kelly Lee, both of Philadelphia, PA. Most importantly, she leaves behind a long list of loving uncles, aunts, cousins and childhood lifelong friends from the beautiful Islands of the Bahamas. Paulette is now reunited in eternity with her parents Jethro and Minerva Finley, her siblings, Pedro and Prescola Finley, and other loved ones who preceded her. Their memory lives on in her heart and in the hearts of those who knew them. May Paulette rest in eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire and guide us all.Show more
