Terry Wayne McCoin, 75 of Dexter, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Terry, son of Bryant and Lorette “Dolly” Thurman McCoin, was born on Tuesday, November 2, 1948 in Gideon, Missouri. He was a foreman for many years at the Gideon Anderson Box Plant and was member of the First Baptist Church in Clarkton. He is survived by daughter, Sonda Michelle Cobb of Malden; long time companion, Hazel McClish of Dexter; six grandchildren, Jessica Segraves, Justin Cobb, Kelsey & Martin Nel, Alyssia McCoin, Jaden Cobb and Maria Cobb; eight great-grandchildren, Emma Johnson, Madison Lowry, Bryton Segraves, Brently Segraves, Blake Lanier, Lucus Lowry Oakley Segraves and McKenzie Nel and brother, Tommy McCoin and wife, Tammy of Campbell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Scottie Wayne McCoin and three brothers, Kenneth Dale McCoin, Clearance Lawon McCoin and Micheal Ray McCoin. Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2024, beginning a 1 PM at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the Landess Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Richard Blagg officiating. Interment will be Standfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri. The McCoin Family would like to recognize all of the nurses and staff in the ICU Unit at Mercy Hospital Southeast for their excellent care and compassion. Pallbearers: Curtis McClish, Eric Russell, Mike Poyner, Butch Woodall, Robert Crosier and Rodney Crosier. Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden will be in charge of the arrangements.

Hazel Yount, 95, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Sophia Mehringer Stowe. She and Homer Edward Yount were married Nov. 27, 1960, in Pensacola, Florida, and he passed away Dec. 28, 2000. Hazel grew up in Michigan, graduating from high school and then moving to Miami, Florida, to attend nursing school. Upon graduation, she moved to Pensacola for work and met Homer, who was serving in the Navy. They married and Hazel accompanied Homer through multiple duty assignments and stations, moving to Cape Girardeau in 1972 when Homer retired from the Navy. Hazel went to work at Southeast Hospital, now Mercy, and worked there until her retirement in 1994. She was very involved with her church, Westminster Presbyterian in Cape Girardeau. She loved her family and babysat for her great-granddaughter well into her 80s. Her love for animals abounded, having multiple birds and dogs. She loved going to lunch at the senior center with her friends. Survivors include her son, Brett (Angelia) Yount; granddaughter, Paige Yount; grandson, Benjamin Yount, and his fiancee, Annie Henning, all of Cape Girardeau, along with a great-granddaughter, Leigha Yount. Also surviving are brothers, Lloyd (Anita) Stowe and James (Gloria) Stowe, both of Traverse City, Michigan, and Raymond Stowe of Phoenix, Arizona. Hazel was preceded by her husband, Homer Yount; brothers, Charles, Richard, Edwin and George Stowe; and sisters, Mildred Gregory and Irene Kulling. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, at the funeral home, with the Rev. She was a resident of Dexter, Missouri, and a member of the Dexter Eagles.She is survived by two sons, Christopher Swallows and wife Teresa of Dyersburg, Tennessee, and Stephen Swallows of Bloomfield, Missouri; and by five sisters, Tressy Ledford of Tennessee, Anita Lee of Bell City, Missouri, Mary Carter of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Pauletta Fyffe of Deepwater, Missouri, and Kathy Bathon of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; by three grandchildren, Elizabeth Swallows, Bradley Swallows, and Emily Swallows; and by two great grandchildren, Brody Swallows, and Addison Swallows.Other than by her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Parris, David Parris, and Roger Dale Parris.Graveside services will be held at Dexter Cemetery on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.

Robert “BOB” Perkins Robert Perkins, son of the late Dave Perkins and Ruby (Webster) Clark was born on July 4, 1953 in Terre Haute, Indiana and departed his life on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 70. He retired from Missouri Dry Dock in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and attended the Church of Morley. On January 3, 1976 he was united in marriage to Kathryn Sue Clark in Scott City, Missouri. Mrs. Perkins preceded him in death on June 21, 20202. Survivors include one daughter, Jackie (Eric) Schafer of Salem, Missouri; two sons, Kenny Scott of Scott City and David (Denise) Perkins of Merced, California; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren with one on the way. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Traci Owen. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. "Heather Nicole Miget-Spear, 48, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born September 17, 1975 in Perryville, MO to Kenneth C. Miget and Charlotte A. (Lukefahr) Miget. Heather married Don Spear on November 23, 2013. Heather served people throughout her life. She shared her smile, her cackling laughter, and witty sense of humor with many through serving as a waitress, a bartender, an ambulance EMT, and an EMTand security supervisor at the casino in Cape Girardeau. Even though she did not always enjoy cooking in her early years, she loved cooking dumplings and pie with her Grandma Lukefahr. It was her Grandma Miget that sparked her love of fishing. Heather loved animals and spent time volunteering at Mac\u0027s Mission, a shelter for dogs with special needs. Her other great love was her family and friends. Spending time with those she loved was what she did. Heather had an infectious laugh and smile with the ability to make anyone she met feel special and loved, like they were her best friend. Heather is survived by her husband, Don; son, Garet George Miget; her parents Ken Miget and Charlotte (Lukefahr) Miget; sister, Gretta (John) Lieser; brother, Luke (Sarah) Miget; nieces and nephews, William Lieser, Raena Lieser, Matthew Miget and Claire Miget. Visitation will be 8:30 am to 11:00 am on Monday, February 26, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church - Highland in Perryville, MO. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am Monday, February 26, 2024 at the church in Highland with Father Patrick Mullins and Father Mike Walsh officiating.
