Mrs. Marilyn Crapse Clark, 83, of Adams Run, entered into eternal rest Saturday morning, September 9, 2023, at her residence. Born June 8, 1940, in Hampton County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Franklin Crapse and Hilda DeWitt Crapse. Marilyn was a Godly woman who was very faithful in her work for the Lord and served next to her husband in the ministry for many years. She enjoyed fishing and was an excellent cook. She dearly loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are: her husband of 64 years, William Christopher Clark of Adams Run; daughters, Susan Clark Cramer and her husband Mel of Summerville and Tiffany Clark Luck of Adams Run; brothers, Danny Crapse and his wife Geraldine of Hampton and Neil Crapse and his wife Janice of Plum Branch; sister, Cynthia Wallner of San Bernardino, California; 8 grandchildren; 7, great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her daughter, Rebecca Ann Clark; her brothers, Kenneth Crapse, Harold Crapse, Johnny Crapse, Walton Crapse, and Wayne Crapse; as well as her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at The Brice Herndon Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Nixville Baptist Church Cemetery, 3915 Two Sisters Ferry Road, Estill. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 noon until the hour of service at THE BRICE W. Thomas Johns Shaffer, 70, of Walterboro, SC, passed away from complications of Lewy Body Dementia on December 07, 2023. He was born on July 23, 1953, in Evansville, IN, to the late Gerald and Anne (Ford) Shaffer. Thomas, also known as Tom, had a rich and fulfilling life. Tom's family meant the world to him. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Joyce (Harrell) Shaffer, his son Andrew Shaffer, his daughter Lauren Shaffer Reinhart (Chris Reinhardt), and his cherished grandchildren Savannah and Allison Reinhardt, Bryce and Ford McKinney. He is also survived by his sister, Jane Shaffer Lee (Rex Lee), his nephew Ben Lee, his sister-in-law, Barbara Fairchild-Newman, his nephew Joe Fairchild, and his niece Pamela Clark (Cody Clark). Tom was preceded in death by his father Gerald Shaffer, his mother Anne (Ford) Shaffer, and his brother Lee Shaffer. Tom's educational journey began at Washington Elementary in Evansville, IN. He went on to graduate from Bosse High School, also in Evansville. Tom's thirst for knowledge led him to pursue higher education, and he proudly graduated from Purdue University. Tom was passionate about sports, with Purdue Basketball, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds being his favorites. He loved the ocean and travel. A testament to his love of diving led him to become a PADI Scuba Instructor and a volunteer diver at The Newport Kentucky Aquarium. His dedication and expertise earned him the respect of his peers and students. In addition to his hobbies, Tom had a successful career in the food service industry. He worked at Laughners Cafeterias in Indianapolis, IN, and Cambridge Inn Cafeterias in Indiana and Ohio. Later, he became the Manager of Food Service at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Kentucky. Tom also served as a Customer Service Supervisor at American and Delta Airlines, where his commitment to excellence shone through. Tom's favorite place on earth was the family home on Water Island, US Virgin Islands. He had traveled there since he was a young child and enjoyed the time he spent there with his children and grandsons. It was there that he found solace and created cherished family memories. After Tom retired, he enjoyed his time at his South Carolina home, nicknamed Tiny Town. Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of passion, dedication, and love for his family and hobbies will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. Mrs. Betty Ann Crosby Thomas, 88, of Walterboro, entered into eternal rest Wednesday evening, December 6, 2023, at Magnolia of Walterboro. She was the wife of the late William C. "Bill" Thomas to whom she was married 62 years. Born December 3, 1935, in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Hearl Crosby, Sr. , Vernelle Varnadoe Craven, and Lawrence Craven, her stepfather who raised her from a young age. She loved the Lord and loved attending church. For many years, she was a member of Jones Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and the church Secretary-Treasurer for almost 35 years. She then moved her membership to Walterboro Church of God. Mrs. Betty was known as someone who would speak her mind and was always known to be a little "feisty". Most of all, she devoted her life to her family and her church. Surviving are: her children, Teresa McDonald and her husband Wesley of Walterboro and Wayne Thomas and his wife Pam of Walterboro; grandchildren, April Thomas Cooke and her husband Wesley, Wanda Phillips Yarbrough and her husband Kevin, Nicholas Wayne Thomas, Ken Maness, Chuck Maness and his wife Tracey, Josh Maness and his wife Alicia, Stephanie Maness, and Courtney McDonald Wilkins and her husband Jason; 15 great grandchildren with one on the way; sister, Laveria Nettles; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Benjamin "Buster" Crosby; and sister, Millie Avant. Trevor Charles Anderson, Born October 13th 1987, in Tacoma, Washington passed away on November 17th 2023, in Charleston SC. Trevor was 36. Trevor grew up in Walterboro, attending Walterboro High School where he marched in the Band of Blue playing the Trombone Baritone. He loved soccer growing up and played several seasons for the Walterboro Rec Center Soccer Club. It was during this me of his life that he met his closest and truest friends. After high school, Trevor worked with his dad for several years in the Shipping Industry. Trevor was smart and knowledgeable in this field. Trevor was a quiet, kind, and talented person. He loved and followed the Seattle Seahawks, and the SC Gamecocks. His true passion was his guitar. He was a self-taught guitar player and spent many hours playing beautiful music. Surviving and grieving Trevor, are his loving parents, Tim and Barbara Anderson of Walterboro SC, Leisa Lawrence of Charleston SC. , his siblings, Charlotte (William) of Walterboro SC. , and Robby and Kristy of Savannah Ga. His Grandmothers, Deloris Lawrence Hunter of Charleston, and Barbara Poppell of Savannah. As well as a large extended family and so many friends. Archie Reid Hiott, 13, of St. George, entered into eternal rest Sunday afternoon, October 22, 2023. Born December 3, 2009, in Charleston, he was the son of Riddick Harold Hiott, III and Christine Page Thornall Hiott. Archie loved fishing and always wanted to be a "pro" bass fisherman. He also loved playing video games, especially Fortnite and shootin' pool. When he wasn't fishing or playing video games, you could find him watching YouTube videos on how to fish. Archie had a big heart and dearly loved his family and was the best brother anyone could have. Surviving are: his parents, Ricky Hiott of Walterboro and Christine Hiott of St. George; brother, Riddick Harold Hiott, IV; sister, Madison Lynn Paisley Hiott; grandparents, Ricky and Tammy Hiott of Walterboro, Brenda and Richie Shuman of St. George and Steven Thornall of Summerville; great grandmother, Verona Faulkenberry of Walterboro; aunts and uncles, Cherie Crosby, Jonathan Hiott, and Savanna and Steven Cooper; as well as a host of cousins, great aunts, and great uncles.
