Marilyn S. Clarida, 84, resident of Eldorado passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Eldorado Nursing and Rehab. Marilyn was born August 24, 1939 in Eldorado to the late Elmer I. and Lillian E. (Choisser) Wilson. She married William "Bill" Clarida who preceded her in death in December of 2017. Marilyn is survived by a granddaughter: Brooke (Loren) Wood of Benton, a great granddaughter: Kaylynn Wood of Benton, four siblings: Paula Anderson of Galatia, Wanda Perry of TX, Joyce Drone of Ridgway, Gary Wilson of FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter: Kay Ellen Roberts and other siblings. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with pastor Clifton Perry officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 am to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Brushy Creek Cemetery near Harco. James (Jim) Harvey Phelps passed away at home on Saturday, November 18th, 2023 surrounded by family. Jim was born August 25th, 1945 in Eldorado, IL to J. C. Phelps and Yutha (Little) Phelps. Jim married Sharon Kay (Miller) Phelps on June 27th, 1964. Jim worked several jobs throughout his life. Jim worked for the Illinois Secretary of State, Peabody Coal Co. , ran J&J Repair, drove a bus for Eldorado schools, Newmont Gold Mine, Rogers Group, Fetch, and Phelps' Concession. Jim loved, above all, his wife, sons, grandchildren, and family. He sang bass in the PeaceMakers and Harmony Echoes. Jim attended and rode horses at the Nine Day Trail Ride for over 50 years and could always be found in his workshop accomplishing a project. Jim is survived by his wife Sharon Phelps and two sons, J. D. (Erica) Phelps of Spring Creek, NV and Jeff (Cliffie) Phelps of Eldorado, IL; grandchildren Christine (Jeremy) Walters {Eldorado}, Sheena (Ryan) Ricaporte {Spring Creek, NV}, Alicia (Joe) DeGraw, Kiana Phelps (Fiance Derrick Penrod) {Spring Creek, NV}, Weston, Charly and Kileah Lowery {Eldorado}, Katelyn and Callie Baker {Louisana}; great-grandchildren Isaac, Ezra and Oliver Burtis, Alana (Jerrett) Blair, Chloe, Anna, Leah and Wesley Ricaporte, Taylor (Zach) Mahon, Calvin, Stryker, Ruger, Paisley, Kane and Ellis; two sisters Brenda (Danny) Carter of Wisconsin and Vicki Metten of North Carolina, many special cousins, nieces and nephews. Graham Joseph Hosman, age 8, passed away peacefully at his home in his daddy's arms surrounded by family on November 3, 2023. He was born October 6, 2015, the firstborn of three sons to Andrew and Jennifer (Parks) Hosman of Eldorado, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his paternal great grandfather, Dr. Elliott Partridge, paternal great grandparents Reba Marie and Lloyd Johns; maternal great grandfather, Emil Allen, and maternal honorary great grandfather, James Parks. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his younger brothers, Parker, 6, and Eli, 3; paternal grandparents, Joe (PaPa) and Joni (Omi) Hosman of Metropolis, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Larry (Granddad) and Cathy (Nana) Parks of Eldorado, Illinois; paternal great-grandmother, Darla Partridge; maternal great grandmother, Rita Allen; maternal honorary great grandmother, Cathlene Parks. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins are blessed to have shared in Graham's brief but impactful life this side of heaven. Zach and Hannah Hosman, their children, Gabe, Evie, and Millie; Craig and Lyndsay Parks, their children, Logan, Maci, Tessa, and Lyncoln; Hayley and Randy Story, their children, Evelyn, Henry, and Samuel; Barry Parks and Amy Daugherty; Kamryn and Zack Kester, and infant son, Silas Graham; Meredith and Nick Holland, their children, Josiah, Maisyn, and Darcy; Abby and Cole Hackett; Natalie Hosman, Lydia Hosman, and Isaac Hosman. Graham will forever be remembered for his determination, perseverance, competitive spirit, keen mind, and his desire to please loved ones. He is known for his compassion and tenderness shown to the elderly, the young, and the hurting. He steadfastly prayed for the needs of others, humbly submitted to endless intrusions to his person, and taught us by example the beauty of contentment by his lack of complaining. He loved dinosaurs, fishing in Granddad's pond, building Legos, and anything with a ball. He had hopes of becoming a preacher and a paleontologist, and assuredly he would have excelled at both. Graham's family would like to extend their eternal gratitude for the many prayers and kindnesses shown to them through this difficult journey made easier by the love, support, and encouragement given them. They would like to encourage anyone who interceded on Graham's behalf to feel welcomed to attend our celebration of his life. Steven Allen Dollar, 69. of Harrisburg. Illinois. passed away Sunday. October 29*. 2023. at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. IL. He was born October 9*. 1954, the son of Bill and Clara (Emery) Dollar. Steven attended THE CHURCH *Of New Beginnings* in Eldorado, IL, where he enjoyed helping out in any way he could, especially holding the door and greeting others. Steven loved meeting new people and making friends everywhere he went. He worked through Coleman Tri-County Services at the Shawneetown Vocational Program for many years and recently had been attending Community Day Services in Harrisburg where he enjoyed working and socializing with his friends. He participated in Special Olympics Bowling and horseback riding and loved earning trophies and medals. Steven had his own special style and is well known for his love for accessories, tattoos and new bling. He was a very driven individual that always knew what he wanted and advocated well for himself throughout his life. He was always ready for an adventure that would involve socializing with others, shopping, going to yard sales or out to eat. He had a unique sense of humor and enjoyed joking around with those around him. In 1985. Steven moved to Harrisburg. IL CRA (group home) operated by Coleman Tri-County Services, later re-named Lincoln Street CILA. He will be greatly missed by his housemates of 38 years. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Clara Dollar and his brother Cecil Dollar. Left to cherish Steven's memory are his sister, Loretta; special friends- David Mills and Cindy Winters: as well as Coleman Tri-County Services staff and consumers: Lincoln Street CILA family -Robin, Mike, Ron and Staff.
