Mrs. Marie Singleton Teasley, 84, of Hartwell, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson, SC. Born on December 13, 1938 in Gastonia, NC, she was the daughter of the late Harold Lee Singleton and Nellie Lee Merck Singleton. Mrs. Teasley was a sales clerk for Belk. Marie was a former member of the Oak Bower Baptist Church where she taught the ladies Sunday School class, and was a current member at the Sardis Baptist Church. She love to read and take care of her flowers. Survivors include her husband: Herman Teasley of Hartwell; two daughters: Vicki Hilley (Ted) and Pam Isbell (Richard), all of Hartwell; brother: Kenny Singleton (Autumn) of Columbus, NC; two sisters: Judy Stovall (Robert) of Inman, SC, and Sharon Vickery (Larry) of Kernersville, NC; sister-in-law: Fran Singleton of Anderson, SC; and two grandchildren: Sam Hilley (Ainsley Vassar) and Erin Isbell. Mrs. Teasley is preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Edward Singleton. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 12, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home. Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Teasley will be Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.

Mrs. Margaret Louise Williams Brown, 93, of Azalea Drive, Hartwell, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at her home. Born on June 10, 1930 in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. Williams and Mattie Jane Herring Williams. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Hart County High School, Class of 1947, and she worked in shipping at Bellcraft. She was also a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she worked with the Social Committee and was a member of the Young at Heart Sunday School Class. She is survived by her two daughters: Peggy Kesler (Wayne) of Hartwell and Ann Neese (Howard) of Loganville, GA; five grandchildren: Matt Neese (Kim), Angie Keener (Chris), Jeannie Cordaro (Jay), Nikki Hancock, Krissi Little (Micah); and eleven great-grandchildren: Madison & Nolan Keener, Brady & Sophie Cordaro, Dallas & Olivia Hancock, Austin, Caleb, & Carrie Neese, and Brantley & Jackson Little. Mrs. Brown is preceded in death by her parents; husband: George Truitte Brown; and brother: Billy Williams. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at the home. Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Brown will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 a. m. at the Bethany Baptist Church with Revs. Luther Thomason and Jerry Durham officiating. Mrs. Mary Ann Crittendon Allen, affectionately known as "The Nana", 95, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Hartwell Health & Rehab surrounded by her family. Born on April 14, 1928, in Hartwell GA, she was the daughter of the late James Homer Crittendon and Essie Estelle Elrod Crittendon. Mrs. Allen was a graduate of Hart County High School, Class of 1945, where she helped create the first high school yearbook. She was also proud of the fact that she had perfect attendance during her entire school career. After high school, Mrs. Allen married Broadus Harold Allen on April 24, 1946. Mrs. Allen started her professional career as a Deputy Ordinary for Judge A E Ertzberger, where she performed many wedding ceremonies. After the Hart County Ordinary's Office, she was one of the first employees hired by Textron Mills where she worked in the office. When Hart County Hospital was formed, she was the first employee hired, starting her career as the office manager and years later she retired as the Chief Financial Officer. After retirement, Mrs. Allen decided she missed the public and decided to become a greeter at the old Wal-Mart. Mrs. Allen was a former member of the Oak Bower Baptist Church, where she served in numerous positions and was currently a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. While residing at Hartwell Health & Rehab, she was named Mrs. Hartwell Health & Rehab 2017 and was 1st runner up at the state meet. Survivors include her two daughters: Diane Wilson (Phil) and Debra "Debbie" Cordell (Mark) all of Hartwell; her grandson, who she referred to as her "Buddy and Greatest Gift": Allen Mark Cordell; several nieces and nephews, who referred to her as "The Rock of the Family" also survive. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Broadus Harold Allen and six brothers: William Wilburn "Bill" Crittendon (Gaspy), Frank Haynie Crittendon (Mary Nell), Don Henry Crittendon (Dollie), James Matthew Crittendon (Opal), George Howard Crittendon (Inez) and Joe Brown Crittendon. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p. m. at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Other times the family will be at their respective homes. Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ann Allen will be Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 2:00 p. m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
