Obituary of Marie Smith Funeral Services for Marie (Tomblin) Smith, age 83, of San Augustine, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2019, in the Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel, with Bro. Randy "Mo" Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Thomas Cemetery in San Augustine County. Visitation will be Sunday evening from the hours of 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. just prior to funeral service. Marie was born to Willie and Goldie (Bryant) Tomblin on February 15, 1935, in Logan County, West Virginia, and passed from this life on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in San Augustine, Texas. She worked for J.P. Mathews Retail Store in San Augustine for many years, and was considered a dear friend to all. She was a faithful member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in San Augustine County for many years. Those who will cherish her memory include, her beloved husband, Lester Smith of San Augustine; her daughters, Sharon McElhaney and husband, Robert Walthall of Cibolo and Novis Harrell and husband, Michael of Dallas; her step-sons, Ricky Smith and his wife, Carolyn of San Augustine and Lee Smith and his wife, Cissi of Nacogdoches; Sisters, Bessie Bostic; Geraldine Dingess; Essie Kinser; Margaret Ann Thompson; Joyce Hensley and Thelma Beckett, all of West Virginia; her beloved grandchildren, Kristen McElhaney and Stuart McElhaney, 3 step-grandchildren; her great grandchildren, Conner and Kyndall McElhaney.
