Marie A. Rutigliano, a resident of Fishkill since 2013, originally from The Bronx, died on May 4, 2023, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 86. Daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Donaghy, she was born in The Bronx on January 19, 1937. She attended Fishkill Baptist Church. Marie retired from the Rockland County Health Complex in Pomona, NY, in 1994. On November 6, 1955, she married Joseph A. Rutigliano, Sr. , at St. Peter & St. Paul Church in The Bronx. He predeceased her in 2015 after 60 years of marriage. Marie is survived by her sons, Joseph A. Rutigliano Jr. & wife Diane, of Virginia, and Jim Rutigliano of Fishkill; her daughter, Trish Roccuzzo of Connecticut; her grandchildren, Ellie Coleman & husband Stephen, Stephen Rutigliano, Paul Rutigliano, Luke Rutigliano, and John Roccuzzo & wife Melissa; her great-grandson, Jace Roccuzzo; her brother, Gerard Donaghy and wife Marilyn; her brother-in-law, George Mulligan; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Marie was also predeceased by her daughter, Eileen Marie Rutigliano (1964); her son, John Rutigliano (1966); her grandson, Thomas Rutigliano (2020); and her siblings, Henry Donaghy, Joseph Donaghy, and Vera Mulligan. Marie was saved by grace and her rebirth led to a deep and abiding love for her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She was devoted to praying for her sons and daughter, her grandchildren, her great-grandson and all her extended family and friends. She was a prayer warrior with the ladies in her Bible studies at Fishkill Baptist Church and committed to praying daily for every person and prayer request on her long list. Marie loved the Word of God. She read from the Bible daily and, even at 86, participated in two Bible studies that helped her delve deeply into knowing more intimately the One who is "the way, the truth and the life. " She was ready to go to Him before she passed, and now beholds His face in glory. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4, and 7 to 9 p. m. , on Friday, May 12th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. , 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A funeral service will be held at 10 a. m. , on Saturday, May 13th at Fishkill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
