Martha Louise “Weegie” Simmons, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday February 23, 2024. She enjoyed traveling and vacationing. Her Bible and her relationship with the Lord were very important to her. She was a wonderful lady and loved by all. Martha was preceded in death by her children, Delores Lee (Charlie), George Simmons (Janice); and granddaughter, Melissa Lee. Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Chuck Lee, Joseph Lee, David Lee, April Lee, Jason Simmons, Jaime Schnell; and many great grands, great-great grands, loving extended family and friends. Carolyn A. Hamilton, 86 of Louisville, passed on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024. Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was the oldest of 12 children to William and Frances Higdon. She graduated from St. Augustine High School in Lebanon, KY. She was a longtime member of Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, where she taught CDC classes to the children. Her primary focus in life was her family. She married the love of her life Gerald “Tom” and they raised 5 wonderful children, who gave her 7 grandchildren that were the light of her life. She was also an avid reader, gardener, and loved to decorate her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Jeanie Settles and her brother, Bill Higdon. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Gerald “Tom” Hamilton, her children, Jerry Hamilton, Geoff Hamilton (Lisa), Laura Thomas (Charlie), Danny Hamilton (Jill), Julie Kieckhefer (Paul), her grandchildren, Jared, Evan, Rachel, Megan, Jordan, Alaina and Nathan, her sisters, Alicia Matthews, Frankie Visnaw, Dorothy Jett, Cathy Lawson and Lee Smith and her brothers, Bob, Larry, Tom and Paul Higdon. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 28th, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd. Her Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 11:00am at Church of the Ascension Catholic Church, 4600 Lynnbrook Drive, Louisville, KY 40220. Neal Allen Tingle, 62, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 22, 2024. He was born January 18, 1962 in Madison, Indiana, son of Evan James Tingle and Betty Faye Taylor Dean. Neal was a retired manager for Sherwin - Williams Paint Company where he worked since 1989. He was a member of Fern Creek Baptist Church where he was an ordained deacon, beloved Sunday School teacher , and current leader of the Men's Ministry and Wednesday evening worship leader. He served on various committees at the church, attended mission trips to Honduras, previously sang in the choir and was an ever present volunteer at many church events. Neal earned an Eagle Scout Award and served as a scoutmaster for Scout Troop 875 and later as a liaison to several troops. He volunteered at the voting polls at most every election and was a foster parent to dozens of children. In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Dean; and son, Wesley Means, Jr. He is survived by children, Amanda Morgan (Jacob Miller), Andrew M. Tingle, Curt A. Allen and Reamus P. Gatewood; grandchildren, Trinity Tingle, Jameson MIller and Cameron Miller; and siblings, Mike Tingle, Steve Dean and Jessica Veech. His funeral is 11am Friday, March 1, 2024 at Fern Creek Baptist Church, 5920 Bardstown Road. Visitation is 3-7pm Thursday at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road and after 10am Friday until the time of the service at the church. Jeffrey (Jeff) L. Malone age 75, of Louisville, KY passed away peacefully on Monday February 19, 2024. Jeff was a Christian, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She is reunited with her loving husband of 56 years Mike Malone, who passed away just 7 weeks ago. Jeff is survived by her daughter Joley Klondike (Rod), and son Lee Malone (Jennifer). Jeff was a loving “Granna” to her 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Jensen, Jeffrey, Jacob, and Sarah (Fiancé Neal). She is also survived by her sister Peggy Williams, sisters-in-law Mitzi Skaggs (Kenneth), Diane Worrell (Bill), and several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. Jeff retired from Jefferson Co. Public Schools where she worked as a family resource center liaison and enjoyed working closely with special needs children and families. Early in her career she was a very talented floral designer, working on weddings, special events, and the Garland of Roses for the Kentucky Derby. She enjoyed decorating (especially for Christmas), spending time with family, friends, and her labradoodle Harley. Jeff had a heart of gold and will be missed by many. A celebration of life with family and friends will be held on Friday, March 29th from 3-6pm at the Locust Creek Neighborhood Clubhouse (18500 Longview Park Lane, Louisville, KY 40245)

Elmer "Moe" Foster, age 73 passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. He was born to the late Geraldine Singleton and Frank Foster in March of 1950. His brother, Woodrow Singleton, Jr., also preceded him in passing. Moe attended Butler High School. He was a published author, owner of Moe's Fabulous Finds. Worked for Joe's Catering and was a manager of Williams Food Services. Moe was most proud of his family, his wife, and being a friend of Bill W. for over 32 years. Here to carry on his memory is his wife of 24 years, Cindy Foster, children; Dale Foster (Shannon), Deanna Foster, and Nathan Foster (Deborah), nine grandchildren; Scott (Kalynn), Austin, Samantha, Hayley, Chelsey, Amber, Whitney, Sian, and Zoe. Five great-grandchildren; Abigail, Sunday, Maddex, Nova, and Penelope, two brothers, Danny Singleton and Alan Singleton and sister, Debbie Carta. Born on July 10, 1954, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of Howard and Darlene Jeanette Ropp Lay. Dana was retired owner and operator of Dairy Mart in Liberty for numerous years. She was a former member of the Casey County Cloggers. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and bingo. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Russell Lee, who she wed on April 8, 1971; a son, Daniel Lee (Ken Dean) of Liberty; sisters, Angela (Mike) Murphy of Somerset and Christina Caron of Cincinnati; a brother, Bruce (Kelly) Leigh of Somerset; and two sisters-in-law, Tina Lay of Hustonville and Kimberly Lay of Lebanon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Christopher Jay Lay, Michael Lynn Lay, and Ricky Allen Lay. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, February 26, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Parton officiating. Burial will follow in Caney Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
