Marie Abner, age 88, passed away January 31, 2019 in Englewood, Florida. She was born September 4, 1930 in Clay County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Beve and Alabama Hoskins. Marie was employed with Ford Motor Co. prior to her retirement in 1988. She was an avid gardener and passed her love of gardening to each of her children. Marie is survived by her sons: Fred, Steve (Penny), Jack (Kathy), and Ted (Sue); her grandchildren: Heidi, Joel, Heather, Stephani, Tyson, Ronald, Christopher, Jamie; and her great-grandchildren: Christine Marie, Brian, Olivia, Lela, Violet, Marina, Merrick, Brielle, Jenevea, Caiden and Chase. She is also survived by her siblings: Billie Jean Williams, Frankie (Carol) Hoskins, Christine (Ron) Harlow, Mary Pelkey, and Fred Hoskins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Cleo, Maggie, Deb, Roy and Junior. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7 from 3:00PM-8:00PM with a funeral service being held on Friday, February 8 at 11:00AM at PHILLIPS FUNERAL HOME, 122 West Lake Street, South Lyon.
