Rudy G. Valerio, 54, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Friday, August 4, 2023 at his residence. He was born on May 17, 1969 to his parents, A. D. Jr. and Socorro Valerio in Silver City, NM. Our Beloved Rudy was very loving, easy going and kind hearted. He graduated from Cobre High in 1987 and attended WNMU. He was a hardworking man, traveling to work in many different states. Rudy had a great since of humor and always had jokes and stories to tell making gestures with his hands. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cobre Indians fan. He loved listening to music and dancing. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, cornhole, basketball, shooting pool and fishing. He made the best tacos and tortillas, just like Mama. He looked forward to our camping trips, family gatherings and hanging out with his friends. He always took time to spend with our kids. Rudy lived his life the way he wanted and no one could tell him different. He cherished every moment. Rudy had a heart of gold and was loved by many. Above all his main concern was that his sisters were always okay. We are deeply broken but find comfort knowing he is at rest and we will all be together again. We Love You Rud - Stay Golden. Rudy is survived by his three sisters; Sonia Valerio (Ruben Orosco), Betty Valerio (Sal Legarda III), Sylvia Valerio Arias (Frank Arias), his dear friend, Veronica Prislan, two daughters; Christina Valerio and Bobbi Jo Garcia, seven grandchildren; Marcos, Marallyn, MyaRae, Malanyee, Emalee, Camilla and Cyprus. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, immense family and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by our parents, Jr. and Socorro Valerio. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 11:00am-12:00pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the funeral service commencing at 12:00pm with Pastor Joseph Gros officiating. Interment will be at Hanover Cemetery following the service, where he will be laid to rest by his parents. Pallbearers are Marcos Valerio, Adam Legarda, RJ Pena, Jared Pena, Jacob Arias, Joe G. Alex Carrillo Tovar, 80, a resident of Bayard, NM, entered into eternal rest Saturday, May 27, 2023 at his residence with his loved ones by his side. He was born on February 9, 1943 to his parents Juan and Regina Tovar in Hanover, NM. Alex attended Cobre High School and went on to a career in the mining industry as a repairman and retired in 2001. He was known as "Thatha" by his children and "Papo" by his grandchildren. Alex was a strong hard-working man. He had a great sense of humor and had a nickname for all his grandchildren. He loved and was always so proud of his grandchildren success, their photographer and never missed their sporting events. He spent countless hours working on the family property and working on his 1949 Chevy. Alex enjoyed both the annual Tovar Hunt, where he was the "Camp Chef" and also volunteering his time at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He was the heart of the family and will deeply be missed. Alex was a father of four and was the most loving husband. He touched many lives. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bernadette "Bernie" Tovar; his four children, Annette Diaz (Fiance Martin Silva), Cindy Campos (husband Dennis Campos), Alex Tovar Jr. (wife Audrey) and Regina Vega (husband Frank Vega); his thirteen grandchildren, Conrad Diaz, Antoinette Crutchfield, Brandi Diaz, Angelica Ramos, Regan Ramos, Alyssa Ramos, Destiny Abalos, Paige Tovar, Alejandro Tovar, Presley Tovar, Jared Vega, Jeremy Vega and Jesse Vega; his nine great-grandchildren, Sedona Grace, Zeke, Zack, Zayden, Zander, Ridge, Ella Nora, Avery and Avinity; his sisters, Rita Montoya(Benny) and Mary Mendoza. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Regina Tovar; his sisters, Soledad Legarda and Elisa Curry; his brothers, Onecimo Tovar, Juan Tovar Jr. , Tomas Tovar, Daniel "Danny" Tovar and Manuel Tovar. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, at 5:00pm-6:00pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels, with the Holy Rosary commencing at 6:00pm with Father Martin Onkonkwo officiating the prayer vigil and Lucille Salas reciting the rosary. The Funeral Mass to honor Alex will be held on Friday, June 2nd, at 10:00am at Our Lady of Fatima with Father Martin Onkonkwo officiating. Concluding services, an interment will follow at Hanover Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Pallbearers are Conrad Diaz, Jared Vega, Regan Ramos, Alejandro Tovar, Jesse Vega and Rudy Legarda. Rita Salgado, 59, a resident of Bayard, NM, entered eternal rest Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Las Palmas Medical Center, in El Paso, Texas. She was born on May 6, 1963 to her parents, Baldomero and Consuelo (Sanchez) Esqueda in Silver City, New Mexico. She attended college and worked as a medical secretary for Presbyterian Hospital. Rita was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Despite her large family Rita always made time for everyone. She always provided support and love for her friends and family. Rita was a passionate crocheter. We will miss her greatly. Rita was one of the strongest, bravest, and kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her and we will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. She is survived by her two sons, Rogelio Jason Cano of Bayard, NM and Diego Chase Esqueda of Silver City, NM; her brother, Ronnie Esqueda; her nine grandchildren, Anayece, Rogelio Jr. , Rhyinn, Ares, Aiden, Areila, Avianna, Diego Jr. , Elijah; and her 3 step-children, James, David and Zachary Salgado. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, Baldomero Equeda Jr. and Ruben Equeda.
