"Edward T. Louie was a native New Yorker who stayed close to his roots until the end. He never moved too far from where he was born in the Bronx on January 16, 1938 to Ng Yok & William Ah Gay Louie. Family was everything to Eddie, so he never wanted to be very far from those he cherished. He passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2023 at the age of 85 from an unexpected medical complication. He was surrounded by his immediate family at his bedside up until he took his last breath. Eddie was known for his unwavering kindness to everyone he encountered. He was the most patient husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing tennis but he was most passionate about bowling. He was once even featured on the 70s show, "Bowling for Dollars. " We'd like to think he is already scoring strike after strike with his brother George (in heaven), free from the tubes and bags that kept him from his favorite pastime later in life. But even when he physically couldn't keep up, Eddie was always ready for a game of Boggle, even virtually. His gang of Bogglers was always ready to join at any minute, especially his grandson, Christopher. As he always did in life, he fought through the bladder cancer diagnosis (since June), with a smile & never complained no matter how scary, uncomfortable or tired he was. . . NEVER. . . His attitude was truly amazing and an inspiration to us, and we rallied alongside him the entire way. Eddie worked at the Williamsbridge Post office in the Bronx for over 40 years. He was very proud he and his wife were able to put his three children through college and earn degrees. After retiring, he and his wife Pauline continued to travel the world by plane and by ship, sometimes with other friends and/or family. . but always together. His very last trip was to Australia & New Zealand, just 2 months before he fell ill. He lived a very full life with no regrets. Eddie is predeceased by his older sister Eileen Chin & younger brother George Louie. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years Pauline Louie (Lew), his daughters Michelle Civale (Craig), Cindy Marx (Stephen), and son Michael Louie (Laura) as well as his grandchildren Kaylie, CJ, Amanda, Michael, Christopher, Nathan, & Maya. He is also survived by his brother William Louie (May) and sister Mary Eng (Henry) and a number of adoring nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Dwyer & Michael's Funeral Home in Tarrytown, on Thursday, November 9, 2023 from 10am - 1pm. , followed immediately by an interment at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla. A repast to follow immediately afterwards. Details to come. A livestream and recording of the visitation will be available at the following link: https://client. tribucast. com/tcid/401067101 In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider making a donation to the American cancer society to further fund research in fighting bladder cancer: Donate to the American Cancer Society_ Bladder Cancer https://donate. cancer. org/?campaign=search&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=%5BB%5D+-+American+Cancer+Society&utm_term=american%20cancer%20society%20donation&gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwy4KqBhD0ARIsAEbCt6iVpbOER4PLEDwpYRxB7ut4itt4ZpWB5EkYqnbztVlnjNZ4hmpdTJcaAueJEALw_wcB Li Cai Sheng (Edward T. Luciano Volpacchio

Luciano Volpacchio

Age - 85

November 28, 2023

"Like so many Italian immigrants, dad (Luciano), came to this country in 1954 at the age of 15. He worked hard as a painter and decorator so he could return to Italy to marry our mother from the same little town, Mirabello Sannitico. They were glued together in marriage for over 66 years and never gave up on love. Together they worked hard and were very proud of what they accomplished. They raised a family of 3 children, Anna Maria and the twins, Romeo and Giuliana. 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandkids. Survived by his loving wife Maria Di Nunzio and his older sister, Elvira Fantacone. Dad was a real family man. "La famiglia" was everything to him. He petitioned for our mother's family to immigrate to America, giving them a roof and food, while they looked for work. The respect and love our Dad received from everyone, family and friends, is immeasurable. A storyteller, a book written about his life that makes every immigrant's life seem like an adventure. He taught us to live life completely and joyfully. He went to visit Anna Maria, the oldest of the 3, every year in Rome during her 38 years abroad, and often to visit Giuliana in California , and Romeo in Basking Ridge NJ, so that they could spend time with their grandkids, as well as vacation with all of us. A giver, a mentor, a philosopher. . . the man who will live within us forever. Carpe diem Dad! We love you so much. See you around when the time comes. [?][?][?] A visitation will be held at Dwyer & Michael's Funeral home from 3- 8pm, Monday, October 23, 2023. A funeral mass will take place the following day at Church of the Transfiguration at 10am, followed immediately by an interment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. "Show more
