"Rose Marie Flores, 88, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her children at the time she passed. Rose Marie was born on January 7, 1936, to Pedro and Amalia Ayala.After graduating from McAllen High School in 1953, she pursued her passion for education, graduating from Pan American College. Her dedication to teaching led her to become a high school English and Drama teacher at McAllen ISD after graduation. Later, with a master’s degree in hand, she assumed the role of elementary school principal at Wilson and Bonham Elementaries, where she served for over 35 years, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students. In 1974, Rose Marie married the love of her life, Jose L. Flores. She embraced motherhood with grace and devotion, becoming the cornerstone of her family and the unwavering supporter of her children. Through her guidance and love, all her children flourished into successful adults. Rose Marie is survived by her children, Romie (Rosemarie) Gomez, Ed.D. (Tracey Hamilton), Michael Ray Gomez, M.D. (Rosie) of Orlando, Florida, Pamela Ann Gomez (Edward Pequeno), and Sandra Jean Whalen (Lawrence) of Friendswood, Texas, as well as her grandchildren: Omar Javier De La Rosa, Andres Cuellar Gomez, Edward Joseph Pequeno, Lauren Michelle Whalen, Evan Cuellar Gomez, and Michael Alexander Pequeno. She is also survived by one great-grandson, Omar Xavier De La Rosa. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings: Carmelina Ayala, Ernestina Rodriguez, and Richard Ayala. The family extends their gratitude to her caregivers, Yolanda, Hortencia, and Maria, as well as the ER/SICU staff to doctor\u0027s Hospital at Renaissance. A visitation and rosary will be held on Feb. 25th 2024 from 6-8PM at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. Funeral Mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Feb. 26th 2024 at our Lady of Sorrows Church in McAllen with burial to follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery."

"Ella Breaux passed away on February 19, 2024 at Grand Terrace Nursing Home in McAllen. She joins her parents: Maria Yarritu Breaux and Joseph Clayborne Breaux and her longtime companion, Otis Foy who passed away on December of 2007. Ella lived to be 101 years old. She was born on June 16, 1922 in San Juan, Texas. Growing up she attended a private school called The Valley Institute which was located in Pharr, Texas. She was a 1939 graduate of Pharr-San Juan Alamo High School. Ella also graduated from McAllen Business College in 1940 and took advanced accounting courses at the then Pan American College in Edinburg, Texas. She is remembered by a niece, Elva Quijas and a nephew, David Breaux. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of friends from the Rio Grande Valley, Louisiana and Tennessee - including Dora Calderon, Myrthala Lopez, Eddy Raven and Sheila Futch who provided Ella with friendship and loving acts of kindness and service. Those who knew and loved Ella are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a 7:00pm prayer service at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. Graveside Service will be at 11:00am on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen."

Anne Rikard Walker Cragg

"Anne Rikard Walker Cragg, 93, of McAllen, Texas, entered into eternal rest on February 21st, 2024. Anne was born to Rick and Annie Laurie Rikard in Columbia, South Carolina. After Anne graduated from high school, she attended Southern Methodist University and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and was an active member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. After graduation from Southern Methodist University, she started teaching high school Business classes, trailblazing the way as one of the first female business teachers. Anne stopped teaching and had three children, Mark Walker, Diana Walker Stephens and David Walker. After raising her children, she went back to college at the University of Pan American and earned her Bachelors Degree in Accounting and obtained her CPA license working over 40 years as a CPA for Hart, Silva and Co. Anne was an avid reader and loved her Wall Street Journal, playing tennis, working out, and attending the Valley Symphony Orchestra as a lover of the arts. She was a member of the United Federation of Dolls Clubs Inc., Zonta, on the Board of Directors at the Salvation Army who presented her with a Lifetime of Service award, and a travel club. She was an active member and lay reader for her parish, St. John’s Episcopal Church. She loved life and she also loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Rick and Annie Laurie Rikard. She is survived by her children Mark (Patia) Walker, Diana (Rob) Stephens, David (Katie) Walker, her grandchildren Laurie Hood, Audrey Stephens, Julia Harris, Margaret Stephens, Michael Walker, Madison Walker, Christopher Walker and Lauren Walker, and her great grandchildren, Emily Harris, Sevelle Hood, Adeline Hood, Claire Harris and Annie Laurie Hood. A private family service will be held in Anne’s memory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Oncology Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. John’s Episcopal Church, organizations Anne loved and felt strongly about."

"Timothy C. Pritchard, 72, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2024. Tim was born in 1951 to Dewey and Marie Pritchard. He attended PSJA High School in Pharr, Texas, and graduated in 1969. During high school, Tim met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marsha Watts, whom he went on to marry and share the rest of his life. Tim began an extensive career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1971. After 35 years of service, he made the choice to retire as a Cable Repair Manager. After trying retirement on for size, he decided to jump back into working again, and rejoined the workforce as a consultant with AT\u0026amp;T and other agencies. While working as a consultant, he was presented with an opportunity to join Cobb Findley and Associates. He spent several years with Cobb Findley, and this is where he was still employed until his passing. Tim enjoyed working and he had an indescribable work ethic, which was apparent to all whom worked with him. When he wasn’t working, Tim loved to hunt and fish with his grandkids as often as he could. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Marie Pritchard; two older brothers, Dane Allen Pritchard and Michael Pritchard; and a grandson, Ethan Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marsha Pritchard; his daughter Robyn Rodriguez (Rick), his son Casey Pritchard (Brenda), granddaughters Kaydence, Katelyn, and Kinsley Pritchard; grandsons, Damon and Aidan Rodriguez; and brother, Bruce Pritchard. More than anything else, Tim was a husband, a father, and a papaw and he loved his family fiercely. Tim’s legacy can be seen in the family that he and Marsha created together; in his kids and grandkids who will remember all the stories he told them and the lessons he taught them. He will be missed so much more than he could have ever dreamed, but those who were fortunate enough to know and love him are all so much better for having done so. Visitation will be February 13th 2024 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kreidler Funeral Home. The graveside will be February 14th 2024 1:00 PM at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery."

"Stella Jean (Gina) Jenson-Conville passed on to the next life on 14 January 2024. She was born 13 January 1956 to Joe and Beatriz Jenson, an Air Force family. Throughout her childhood she lived and thrived in foreign exotic countries, such as France, Japan and Portugal until her family moved to McAllen. She graduated from McAllen HS and she started her professional secretarial career at age 18 until retirement at 62. She married Randall L. Conville in 1985, they were together until his death in 2021. The last years of her mother’s life Stella was her devoted caretaker. Her siblings have never underestimated and valued her love, care and protection; a classic trait that an elder sister inherits. Her strength endured for 68 years; that passed too quickly; and in that short time she befriended many with her charismatic personality. She is survived by brother, John T. Jenson of Dallas, TX and sister Jacqueline D. Cochran of Charleston, SC. She will be interred aside her husband at the Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Mission, TX."

"McAllen - Abel Garcia, born on Christmas Day 1928, passed away on January 13, 2024. Abel retired to McAllen, Texas in 1994 after serving as the first Latin Court Reporter in Harris County where he proudly served for 25 years. Over his lifetime, he was a volunteer for various political campaigns and was a vibrant and generous supporter of the Rio Grande Valley’s migrant community. In addition to his spirit of civic service, he also served on the board of directors of the Tropical Village Home Owners Association. He is remembered by his caring and devoted children: Rosela Garcia McKee and her husband, Robert of Tomball, Texas; Richard (Rick) M. Garcia and his wife, Loretta P. Martinez, Esq. of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Randolph M. Garcia of McQueeny, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Cassidy Tawse - Garcia, Raquel M. Garcia and Riana Rose M. Garcia all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 18, 2024 between the hours of 5:00pm and 8:00pm at Kreidler Funeral Home in McAllen. There will be a Rosary at 10:30am on Monday, February 19, 2024 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugarland, Texas. Immediately afterwards, a Memorial Mass is to be celebrated at 11:00am also at the church. The burial will follow at Davis - Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, Texas. Ed Zinsmeister

"Ed Zinsmeister lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Born and raised in San Antonio, he attended Central Catholic High School and graduated from St Mary’s University in 1964 where he was a member of the Tau Delta Sigma Fraternity. He later received an advanced degree in banking from SMU. He began his banking career in 1959 as a part time teller. After graduating from St Mary’s, he became a bank examiner for the Texas Dept of Banking. In 1968, Ed moved his family to Corpus Christi to work at Corpus Christi Bank and Trust. He took a break from banking to join the oil and gas industry as President of Tejas Oil and Gas. The collapse of the savings and loan industry lured him back into banking where he joined the Resolution Trust Corporation in 1989 to bring stability to the financial industry. That brought him to First City Bank in San Antonio where he oversaw their transfer to Chase Bank. His love for mentoring and growing the industry brought him to McAllen where he joined Rio Bank in 1999. He served as Executive Vice President until his retirement at age the 73. He continued serving on the Board of Directors until his death. Throughout his entire career he mentored and guided many young bankers to successful careers. In 2022, Ed was honored for his 50 years of service to the banking industry at the Texas Banker’s Association annual meeting. With his loving wife of 38 years, Sandi by his side, he passed peacefully at home on January 12 at the age of 83. He was a loving father to Scott and Laura, a caring father-in-law to Diana and the proudest “Nacho” to his granddaughter Elie. He was the son of Catherine and Edward Zinsmeister and brother of Kitty Horlen, Helen Dugosh (Kenneth), Rudy Zinsmeister (Trish),Carol Canion (Mike), Edna Geckler (Chris) and Michael (Maria) Zinsmeister. Ed was always a generous supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and served on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society of McAllen and the Advisory Committee of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce. He was also a huge cheerleader for CAMP University, a safe space for young adults with special needs to continue their education. Raymundo Munoz, Sr.

"Raymundo Munoz, Sr., age 93 of McAllen, Texas, son of Jose and Isabel Munoz, passed away on January 11, 2024. Raymundo began his career at Inland Steel at the age of 18 but put that on hold to enlist in the Marines. He fought in the Korean War where he achieved the rank of Corporal as a combat engineer specializing in reconnaissance. Once Raymundo’s service was completed in the Marines he returned to Inland Steel where he worked as a Machinist Fitter retiring with 32 years of service. Raymundo was a great artist and woodworker, specializing in cabinet making and small furniture. His great loves were family, music and dance. He loved singing and you could find him serenading the love of his life, his wife Gloria almost daily. Raymundo is predeceased by his wife Gloria, whom he met in Monterrey, Mexico where they also eventually married. They were married 58 years, during that time they welcomed 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Raymundo is also predeceased by his parents, Jose and Isabel, his seven older siblings, Pedro and Jose Alamillo, Alfredo and Arturo Hernandez, Lydia Munoz Chapa, David Munoz and Mercedes Munoz Reyes. Raymundo is survived by his four children, Raymond (Christina) Munoz, James (Elizabeth) Munoz, Richard Munoz, Gloria (Alejandra) Munoz. 8 grandchildren, Lisa (Leanne) Munoz, Theresa (late Jason) Munoz-Florek, Corinne Munoz, Alexander Munoz, James (Jennifer) Munoz, Raquel Munoz (Donny), Anthony (Bethannie) Munoz and Matthew Munoz. Also surviving are Raymundo’s greatest joys in life 13 great grandchildren. Raymundo will be remembered for his love of family and zest for life. He will be greatly missed. A private viewing was held. A military funeral service is being planned in May for immediate family in McAllen. A memorial service for both Gloria and Raymundo is being planned for a future date for extended family in Indiana."
