Harold Vallance, 88, of Catlettsburg, passed away February 21, 2024, in King’s Daughters Medical Center. Mr. Vallance was born April 8, 1935, in Wurtland, to the late Cecil and Elsie Bartley Vallance. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Tedd Vallance; one daughter-in-law, Pat Vallance; brother, Charles; sister, Dorothy. Harold served his country in the United States Army before retiring from CSX Railroad as a conductor. He was a member of the Plaza Community Church, where he was a dedicated member and helped with maintenance for many years. He was a skilled woodworker, artist, and a model railroad enthusiast. Harold was also a former member of the Greenup County fish and game. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Lottie Mullins Vallance; son James; daughter, Christi; grandchildren, Hannah (Aung), Chelsea and Kelli; great-grandchildren, Xander, Isabel, Joshua, Caleb and Benjamin; brother, Carl; sisters, Betty and Judy; along with a host of other close family and friends. Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Plaza Community Church with Pastor Paula Sargent officiating. Patricia M. Wireman, 92, of Ashland, KY passed away at Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility on February 20, 2024. She was born on June 24, 1931 in Magoffin County, KY to the late Oron and Olga Patrick Salyer. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Lou Salyer, Paula Lee Patton and Sharon Fecteau and a son-in-law Sam Roberts. She graduated from Magoffin County High School and Cosmetology School. Patricia was a wonderful mother and homemaker and was lovingly known by her grandchildren as “Mimi”. Her passions were her family, cooking, fishing and playing cards. Patricia is survived by her ex-husband Forest G. Wireman of Ashland, KY who was her loving and constant companion for 77 years, a son Alan Wireman of Ashland, KY, a daughter Sherry Roberts of Mansfield, OH, a grandson Joe Roberts and wife Kendra of Cincinnati, OH, great grandchildren Sammy and Sophie Roberts, a sister Orene Miller and husband Larry of Maysville, KY, two brothers-in-law M.T. Wireman and wife Stella of Salyersville, KY and Garland Arnett of Spartanburg, SC, and several very special nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at STEEN FUNERAL HOME-CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL and will be officiated by Chaplain Roger Wireman. Marjorie Gail Robinson, 80, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family, at King's Daughters Medical Center, where she served faithfully for 54 years. She was born December 7, 1943 in Ashland the daughter of the late Robert C. and Doris Fraley Reynolds. She was retired from King’s Daughters Medical Center with 54 years’ service as Director of Surgical Services, Assistant Vice President of Nursing, Director of Psychiatric Services and Human Resources in quality assurance. Margie was a member of Unity Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas K. Reynolds, a great granddaughter, Penny Robinson and a great grandson, Reece Froman. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Roger D. Robinson; one son, Roger D. Robinson Jr. and wife Cindy of Bardstown, KY; one daughter, Jill Robinson of Ashland; one brother, Robert C. Anna Beatrice “BeBe” Wheeler Greene, 97, of Ashland, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on June 24, 1926, to the late Sherman and Ella Winn Wheeler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Norman Greene; sisters, Vertrice, Gertrude, Gladys Jewel and Della Wheeler Osborn; and two brothers, Robert and Roger Wheeler. On December 5, 1939, at Westwood United Baptist Church while attending a revival with her family and best friend Mary Helen Slone, BeBe was converted and spent the rest of her life as a follower of Christ. BeBe went to Coles Jr. High school and graduated from Ashland High School. While attending Coles she was selected as best all-around girl student. She was double promoted while at Ashland High School and graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1943. She attended the University of Louisville where she was honored as the outstanding Chi Omega Pledge on the U of L Campus. She attended Ohio State University before returning to Ashland where she and her husband were married on January 21, 1946. She worked as Medical Assistant for Dr. Tom Stevens for 17 years and was a proud homemaker. She was a charter member of the Hillandel Homemaker Club where she was club president. A few years later, she became a member of the Twin Mother’s Club where she was founder and president. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Cheryl Ann Greene Adams (Rocky) of Paris, KY; sons, Robert Sherman Greene (Olivia) of Lake City, FL, Charles Garrett Greene (Phyllis) of Ashland, John David Greene (Eve) of Greenup, KY and Roger Lee Greene (Michelle) of Paris, KY; sisters, Lee Wheeler Stevens, Mary Lou Wheeler Allen, Regina Wheeler Adams; brothers, Charles Sherman Wheeler and George Harrison Wheeler; 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2024, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL with C.J. Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Ronnie G. King 1955 – 2024 Ronnie G. King, 68, of Grayson, KY passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born April 4, 1955 in Olive Hill, KY to the late Fred and Nada Hall King. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis Leslie, Estill and Fred King, Jr.; five sisters, Evelyn Newman, Carolyn Barker, Linda Huffman, Myrtle King, and Jennifer King; brother-in-law, Roland Terry. Ronnie began working when he was 15 years old at Ralph’s grocery store. He went on to work at Ashland Oil/Marathon Oil Company for 38 years as a pipefitter, Maintenance Supervisor, and a Planner. Ronnie was a member of the Gregoryville Christian Church since 1981. He served in many capacities over the last 40+ years including Board Member, Trustee, and Treasurer. His most precious gifts were his children and grandchildren. They truly were the lights of his life and he was so thankful for all the wonderful trips and experience he had with them. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debbie Terry King; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Adam Stratton; a son, Matthew King, all of Grayson; three grandsons, Parker and Peyton Fouch and Allen Stratton; granddaughter, Ava Stratton; a sister, Jewell (Roy) Littleton of Baltimore, OH; brothers-in-law, Jack Barker and Junior Huffman; sisters-in-law, Faye King, Berneice King, and Helen Terry; as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wayne and Phyllis Terry. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and at the funeral home before the service on Friday. Funeral services will be Friday, February 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, officiated by Ron Arnett, Jason McGlone, and Mickie Callihan . Thomas Dean Mansfield1961-2024The sun has set on an amazing life.Thomas Dean Mansfield began his Heavenly journey home on February 19th, 2024.Thomas was born in the summer of 1961, on July 22nd. He was the blessing of the late Lawrence and Lola Ann Riddle Mansfield. He attended school in South Point, OH until his family moved to Kentucky. Thomas graduated in 1979 from Paul Blazer High School and furthered his education at Ashland Community and Technical College. Thomas served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He took care of his community as a Phlebotomist at Kings Daughters Medical Center. Thomas loved sports, and enjoyed cheering on the KY Wildcats, enjoying a Reds Game, and watching his beloved Bengals play. When he wasn’t watching sports, you could often find him out on the golf course playing 18 holes. Even though Thomas had a love for sports and golf, it was his children and grandchildren that was his favorite past time. He loved being a father and papaw to his babies. Thomas had a caring soul and a loving heart. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through the love he left behind and the fond stories of him that will be shared throughout the years.Thomas leaves behind his two sons, TJ Mansfield and his wife Alexandra of Ashland, KY, and Steven and Alexis Mansfield also of Ashland, KY, Two beloved grandchildren Roman and Theodore Mansfield, one brother David Mansfield of Ashland, KY, and one sister Roberta Parker and her husband John of Ashland, KY. Brian Keith Withrow, 47, of Ashland formerly of Grayson went to be with his Lord Saturday February 17, 2024 at his residence. Brian was born November 7, 1976 in Ashland, KY a son of Debbie Lynn Glass Kirk and the late, Ronnie Keith Withrow. Brian served his country honorably in the US Navy, after graduating from East Carter High School in 1995. After the military, Brian went on to work as a Boilermaker with the local 105. Brian was currently active with the Volunteers of America, to help his fellow veterans. Brian was a member of the Eagles club, known for his carpentry skills, enjoyed fishing and working on cars. In addition to his mother Brian is survived by a half-sister, Amanda Withrow; a half-brother, Aaron Withrow; and a host of friends and extended family who all mourn his passing.
