Hudson, MA Maria C (Camara) Fontes, 85, of Hudson MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 7, 2023 surrounded by family at UMASS Memorial Hospital in Marlborough, MA She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio S Fontes who died in 1990; Maria is survived by her 5 children, Joseph Fontes, Daniel Fontes with his partner Cheryl Holden, Laura Monteiro and her husband Tony, Celeste Fontes and Natalia Fontes, wife of the late Jonathan McKinlay She is also survived by her 2 brothers, Antonio and his wife Maria and Jose and his wife Manuela Maria was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Melissa and husband Shawn, Vanessa, Domenic and his partner Mary, Phoenix and his wife Bailey, Austin, Brianna and Alexis; 2 great grandchildren: Patrick and Mariana along with her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends near and far She was predeceased by her son Victor Manuel Fontes, her sister Adelina Luz who is survived by Adelina's husband Antonio Luz of Santa Maria Azores Maria was born and raised in Santa Maria Azores in Portugal She emigrated to the United States settling in Hudson in 1972 where she resided her entire life She was employed as an assembler for many years by ACT Manufacturing Co in Hudson, MA until her retirement in her 60's She was an active member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson, MA Maria had many hobbies and interests such as cultivating her flowers and caring for her garden She always looked forward to spending time visiting family and friends on her frequent trips back to Santa Maria Maria lived a full passionate life spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren She loved to cook for her family on Wednesday evenings, and gathering for lunch on Sundays was always a special treat She leaves a legacy of love, and kind heartedness with many memories for all to cherish and remember Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St , Hudson, MA A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St , Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson, MA for Committal Services In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria may be made to: St Michael's Parish Church in Hudson MA

Charles L. Coggins III, 77, ("Charlie from Hudson") passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023. He leaves his beloved wife of 56 years, Judith L. (Ferranti) Coggins. Charlie was born in Plymouth, Massachusetts and raised in Hudson, MA son of Frances Silvestri. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Anne and Leo Coggins. He attended Hudson High School. Charlie began his career at Digital, Maynard in the late 1960s and his entire career was in the computer industry. In the early 1970s he was a part time policeman in Hudson. In the early 1990s he started his own computer company until his retirement. Charlie resided in Hudson, Maynard and Marlboro, following his marriage to Judy and later resided in Auburn, Massachusetts. Besides his wife, Judy, Charlie is survived by his two daughters Shannon Nadeau and her husband Scott of Worcester and Heather Jenkinson of Auburn. He also leaves four grandchildren, Lili Nadeau, Sydney Nadeau, Brooke Jenkinson and Brody Jenkinson. He was predeceased by his brother Daniel and his sister Kathy. He also leaves his sister Rena Boston and her husband Ron, sisters Debbie, Sandi, Connie, brothers Domenic, Paul and Steve. Charlie was most happy when he was with family and friends. In particular, he loved bass fishing with his brother in law Del and spent many hours on the golf course with friends. Charlie's passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved him, but know he will live on in their memories. Richard J. Brown, 79, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. He leaves his beloved wife of 40 years, Judith L. (Hammond) Brown. Richard was born and raised in Billerica, MA, son of the late Warren and Elaine (Cram) Brown. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Billerica High School. Richard was a "jack of all trades" holding many occupations throughout the years including time as a real estate agent, inside sales at Bose and Gilway, and concierge at Cronin's Landing. Richard connected easily with co-workers and customers alike and always enjoyed good-natured bantering with both. Richard resided in Waltham, MA following his marriage to Judy and later residing in Framingham, MA and Marlborough, MA. He was a former member of Weston Methodist Church, and currently a member of Westborough Methodist Church. Besides his wife Judy, Richard is survived by his two daughters, Heather Lussier and her husband David of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Kristen Hawkins and her husband Chad of Shrewsbury, MA. He also leaves his three grandchildren, Simon Lussier, Clara Lussier, Calvin Hawkins along with other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Brown. Richard was most happy when he was with his family and friends. In particular, he loved entertaining them on his boat cruising along the Charles River. They all enjoyed his hospitality and his love of boating. He always enjoyed spending time outdoors and was especially proud of the gardens he and Judy created at the family home in Framingham. In more recent years, he also found joy in the Crane Meadow community in Marlborough, making more friends in their bocce league. Richard's passing has left a hole in the hearts of those who knew and loved him but know he will live on in their memories. Marlborough, MA Maurice P. Renaud, 84, of Marlborough, MA, formerly of Hudson, MA, died on Sunday, October 29, 2023. He was the beloved husband of 57 1/2 years to the late Barbara L. (Downey) Renaud who died in March of 2023. Maurice is survived by his two sons, Mark D. Renaud of Marlborough, MA, David L. Renaud and his wife Christine of Marlborough, MA; his daughter, Brenda M. Renaud and husband Larry Ferrie of Rhode Island; his 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Christina, Brandon, Theresa and 5 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Gaston and Albert Renaud, Irene Souza, Louise Warren, Lorraine Lafrenierre, Marie Braga and Helen Buxton. He also leaves many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Maurice was born and raised in Hudson, MA, son of the late Gaston and Lucy (Garon) Renaud. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. He served in the U. S. Air Force following high school and was honorably discharged in 1964. Maurice was a machinist by trade and worked locally for GTE and the Daugherty Tool and Die Company until retiring. He was a parishioner for many years at the former Saint Mary's Parish in Marlborough, MA. Maurice had a few hobbies and wood working was his favorite. He began crafting toys for his children when they were young. Later he set his wood working skills first on bird houses and then clocks. He enjoyed the frequent trips with his wife Barbara to Pennsylvania visiting the Dutch Country. They even contemplated moving there as the Amish traditions and lifestyle intrigued them both. York Beach in Maine was a frequent vacation camping spot they cherished together as a family. A favorite of both Maurice and Barbara was gathering with friends they met at the Gazbar Grill (a living room and homey atmosphere experience) they truly enjoyed. His unique personality and devotion to helping others is what he leaves behind for all to remember and cherish for years to come. A Celebration of Maurice's life will be held at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM. She was the beloved wife of the late James P. Callahan who died in 2003. Barabara was born on June 27, 1941 to the late George and Margaret (Stegman) Doherty. She was raised in Allston, MA attending local schools and she was a graduate Brighton High School. Barbara resided in Waltham and Hudson for the last 50 years. Barbara, Barbara Jean, Momma, Diva, Nana, Mother, . . . simply the best. Our best cheerleader and number one advocate, she was strong and ever-present. Her heart and mind were filled with an unconditional love, and steadfast loyalty to those whom she loved. The role of mother suited her perfectly. Equally lucky and blessed. . . she was our friend! Barbara will forever be remembered by her eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren for her loveable and strong hug; the forever fashionista in her own matchy-match look along with the best Nana & Gigi they came to know, adore and love. Walter J. Nosek, Jr. , 83, of Hudson, MA, passed on Wednesday October 25, 2023, at UMass Memorial Hospital after a short illness with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Frances A. (Fortugno) Nosek, also of Hudson, MA. Walter was born in Clinton, MA, to his parents, the late Walter J. Nosek, Sr. , and Mary M. (McLaughlin) Nosek, on April 15, 1940. In addition to his beloved wife Frances, Walter leaves his daughters Bonnie (Nosek) Donovan and her husband Jack of Hudson, MA, Jeanne (Nosek) Lazzaro and her partner Glenn Besse of Worcester, MA, Susan (Nosek) Nemetz of Sutton, MA, and Patricia (Nosek) Majenski and her husband David of Hanson, MA; sisters Bernice "Bunny" Nosek of Worcester, MA, and Jeanne Hancock and her husband Steve of Worcester, MA; grandchildren Matt Donovan and his wife Katie, Erin Donovan, Kelsey Donovan, Michael Lazzaro, Alicia Lazzaro, Hailey Phelps and her husband Benjamin, Jaden Nemetz, Leah Nemetz, Adam Majenski and his wife Hailey, Shane Majenski, Gabrielle Majenski, and Julia Majenski; great-grandchildren Jeannette Donovan, Asher Majenski, Kai Majenski, and Avery Phelps; sister-in-law Ingrid Nosek; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his parents Walter J. Nosek, Sr. and mother Mary (McLaughlin); brother Paul Nosek of New Boston, NH; and sisters Barbara Aversa of Agawam, MA, and Frances Nosek of Clifton Park, NY. Born and raised in Clinton, MA, Walter attended Clinton High School, and later excelled as a sales representative for Procter & Gamble. Walter was also a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Walter was an avid sports fan, with a particular enthusiasm for all New England teams. Apart from his love of sports, he also enjoyed reading, especially the newspaper, playing cards, visiting with his many friends around town, and trips with his wife. He also loved to make special meals for his family, including his famous chicken soup, scrambled eggs, and baked beans. And, more than anything, Walter loved spending time with, and enjoying the family vacation home in Fitzwilliam, NH, surrounded by his adoring family. Wally was a kind and loving man who will be sorely missed by all that loved him. Richard B. Jones, 75, of Massachusetts and Panama, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, with his long-term partner, Janet Crowley by his side. Richard was born in Roanoke, VA, to his parents William and Nellie Ruth (Ridgway) Jones, on March 18, 1948. In addition to his long-time partner Janet Crowley, Richard also leaves his sons, Lucas Jones and his partner Holly, Nathan Jones and his wife Breanne, and Adam Goddard-Jones; his brother Walter Jones and his wife Perlita; grandson Jaxon Goddard-Jones; his niece Jasmine Jones, and other family members and great friends. He is predeceased by his parents William and Nellie Ruth. Richard attended undergraduate courses at Boston University, and later earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Upon his retirement, Richard sailed down to Panama and fell in love with the culture and way of life there. He was highly technical in his ability to conceptualize, build, rewire, and fix just about anything, including, but not limited to, constructing his entire home in Panama. Richard had a thirst for knowledge, and was a voracious reader, maximizing the battery life of his Nook. An avid sports fan, Richard rarely missed a Celtics game, making sure he was rooting them on from wherever he was found on the globe. He was partial to New England sports and even came around as life went on to root for the Red Sox - a big development as he was a Yankees fan since birth. Janet would like to thank the tireless efforts of the medical staff at Massachusetts General Hospital, White Building, Tenth Floor, for their incredible care given to Richard in these past months, as well as the staff at Wakefield Center who were there to support Richard in his final days. Hudson, MA Sandra Jean Gregoire, 85, a lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, died on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Reservoir Center in Marlborough, MA. Sandra was born in Marlborough, MA, daughter of the late Willow and Amelia (Palchouskas) Gregoire. She was raised in Hudson, MA attending local schools and was a 1956 graduate of Hudson High School. Following high school Sandra attended the Worcester Memorial School of Nursing receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1959. She began her long career as a Registered Nurse with Worcester Memorial Hospital and later was employed as a Registered Nurse with Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA. Following her retirement from Brigham and Women's she spent time at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. She earned her Master's Degree in Nursing from Anna Maria College during her career. She was a member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA. Sandra is survived by her sister-in-law Kathleen Gregorie, wife of the late Robert W. Gregorie who died in 2022. She is also survived by her nephew John Gregorie and his husband Derek Morley of Chicago, IL; her niece Danielle Gregorie of Hudson, MA and her great niece Drew Murphy. Sandra's life passion was her career and caring for the people she encountered over the many years as a Registered Nurse. She loved gathering with family members no matter what the occasion. She loved her summer home in Wells Beach, ME and always looked forward to entertaining her family and friends at the beach home. Sandra will be remembered for her warm and giving spirit by all who loved and knew her. Scott leaves his loving partner of 26 years Linda S. (Milton) Malo of West Boylston, MA; Linda's children, Micaela and Joseph; his sister Pamela F. Bandzul of Stow, MA; his brother John H. Bandzul and his wife Wendy of Hudson, MA along with his nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Scott was born in Waltham, MA, son of the late Leroy and Vivian (Prime) Bandzul. He was raised in Stow, MA attending local schools and was a 1978 graduate of Nashoba Regional High School. He owned and operated Vulcan Industries, Inc. in Hudson, MA along with his brother John. Scott had many interests throughout his life besides operating his business. He was considered by those close to him as the master of wisdom gained through life experiences "The UNIVERSITY of Hard Knocks". He truly enjoyed taking long rides with Linda on his motorcycle to many destinations they enjoyed visiting together. He was especially proud of his classic car collection he obtained over the years. His love of sport fishing brought him to the Florida Keys on many occasions taking fishing trips out of the Village Islamorada. His unique way of caring for those he loved and knew was cherished by those around him. He will be remembered for his loyalty, devotion and care and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him including his loyal German Shepherds he cared for over the years. Hudson, MA John Joseph Colwill, 61, a longtime resident of Hudson, MA died on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. John was born in Boston, MA, son of the late John L. Colwill Jr. and survived by his mother Mary Bopp Colwill of Hudson, MA. He was raised in Hudson and attended local schools. He was a 1980 graduate of Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough, MA. He was currently employed by Randall Properties as a Building and Property Manager. Besides his mother, John is survived by his brother Arthur F. Colwill of Hudson, MA; his sister, Marianne Colwill Shanley and her husband Thomas of Uxbridge, MA and his daughter Emily of Marlborough, MA. He is also survived by his niece Mikaela M. Shanley; his nephew Macoy T. Shanley, both of Uxbridge, MA and many other relatives and close friends. At a very young age John developed an interest in cars. He attended the auto body courses at Assabet Valley and his ability, knowledge and passion for the mechanics and working parts of an engine was evident to everyone he knew. He always looked forward to get-aways at his grandparents home in Manomet to spend time with family and friends. John and a close group of friends always enjoyed their yearly trip to Carlisle Pennsylvania to attend the famous car swap meet. One project special to John was the preservation and restoration of the Odd Fellows building located in downtown Hudson. He spent many hours making repairs and bringing the old building back to her former glory. He especially loved spending time on the roof, the view was amazing from there. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Richard E. Cunningham Jr. , 58, lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at UMASS Memorial Marlborough Hospital in Marlborough, MA. He is survived by his beloved wife Kristine G. Cunningham of Hudson, MA. Richard was born in Marlborough, MA, survived by his father Richard E. Cunningham Sr. and predeceased by his mother Jane E. (Frawley) Cunningham. He was raised in Hudson, MA attending local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School class of 1983. Shortly after high school Richard enlisted in the U. S. Coast Guard on the USS Vigilant and was stationed along the east coast until being assigned to the Scituate Massachusetts Coast Guard Station. He served from 1983 until being honorably discharged in 1987. He was employed by the Hostess Company as a Union Truck Driver until the early 2000's when he was injured while working. Even after his injury, Richard kept busy doing landscaping around his yard and spent time with his father restoring an old model jeep that he acquired. He was a member of the former Christ the King Parish in Hudson, MA and a current member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA. Besides his wife Kristine and father Richard Sr. , Richard leaves his 2 sisters, Susan LaPorte and her husband Russell of South Berwick, ME, Brenda Hoseason and her husband Peter of Bolton, MA; his 4 nieces, Carolyn Ingalls and her husband James of Haverhill, MA, Jessica Bailey and her husband Jules of Portland, OR, Meghan Gavalis and her husband Robb of Westborough, MA and Colleen Schoeck and her husband Craig of Plymouth, MA. He is also survived by his 9 great nieces and nephews, other relatives and close friends. Richard had many interests and hobbies throughout his life. His passion in life was the special bond he shared with his wife Kristine, his close and unconditional relationship with his father and the love and caring spirit he gave to his siblings and their children. He enjoyed camping and hiking prior to his injury and always looked forward to traveling to Gloucester and Essex to be near the ocean and beaches. He also loved his family, the O'Learys, living in Ireland He will be greatly missed but never forgotten by those who loved and knew him.
