Maria Antonia Da Cruz, 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, NJ. She was born in Vale de Eguas, Santiago do Cacem, Portugal, and came to the United States in June of 1975, resided in Newark until settling in Kearny30 years ago. Maria was a Seamstress for most many years. Devoted and loving mother of Natalina Da Cruz, Edite Piedade and her husband Armando, Maria Da Silva and her late husband Jacinto; dear sister of Antonio Da Cruz Morim of Portugal; cherished grandmother of Paulo, Hugo, Colin, Cindy and Danny; great-grandmother of Amanda, Alex, Matthew, Sarah, Nolan and Sebastian. The Funeral Mass for Maria will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at 9 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ. The wake will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd from 6 -8 pm at the Buyus Funeral Home 426 Lafayette St. , at Wilson Ave. , Newark, NJ 07105.
