Maria Teresa Cifone, age 87, of Yonkers, New York passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023. A visitation for Maria will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Edwin L. Joseph Rener Jr. of Goldens Bridge, New York peacefully passed away at Calvary Hospital on December 9, 2023, at the age of 95. Born in Yonkers, N. Y. on September 11, 1928 he was the youngest son of Joseph Rener and Louise (Witkor) Rener. His older brother Chester and three sisters, Helen, Stella, and Millie all predeceased him. Joe was a graduate of Saunders High School in Yonkers and served in the United States Navy from 1948-1953. Beloved husband of Lillian (Coyne) Rener who predeceased him on February 22, 2013. Joe is survived by his three children. His daughter Liz and her husband John Larkin of Yonkers, his son Josef of Goldens Bridge, and his daughter Lillian and her husband Patrick O'Connor of LaGrange N. Y. Joe started working as a bartender in his father's tavern in Yonkers called the Green Tavern on Jefferson Street. Joe then went to work for Anaconda Wire and Cable Company in Hastings on Hudson, and finally found the job he loved which was working as a carpenter for Westchester County. After retiring from Westchester County, Joe worked for many years as a security guard at Readers Digest in Chappaqua. Joe volunteered for over 45 years with the Goldens Bridge Fire Department. He loved bowling with his fellow volunteer firemen, was a big Giants fan, as well as watching his UConn girls' basketball team. Joe's biggest source of pride was his family. He loved his family, his 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Anthony's Church, 10 Squire Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10703 Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Yonkers, N. Richard Anthony Giaimis, age 78 of Brodheadsville, formerly of Yonkers, NY passed away with his loving wife and dog "Snuggles" at his side on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at his home. Richard was born in Mount Vernon, NY on February 11, 1945, son of the late Dominic and Elizabeth (DeGuglielmo) Giaimis. He was the loving husband of Mary (Buono) Giaimis. They celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary on October 14th. Richard served our country with dedication and courage in the United States Naval Reserve and was a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert. Richard worked in the security business from 1968 until 1979 having worked for Capital Investigative Services in White Plains, NY. From 1979 until 1992 he worked as a Sight Supervisor for Gleason Security Services in Mount Vernon, NY. Richard had also worked for 19 years as a Concierge Door Man for Columbia Condominiums in New York, NY until retiring in 2011. Richard was a former member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Mount Vernon, NY and attended Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert. Richard was a Third Degree Master Mason and was a member of the F & AM Mt. Masada Galaxy Lodge # 902 in Mt. Kisco, NY. We have been blessed with the presence of Richard in our lives. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife: Mary of Brodheadsville, his godson: David Coelho and his wife Andrea of Statesville, NC. He is also survived by four nephews: Alan Giaimis and wife Laurie, Ronald Giaimis and wife Terri, Robert Coelho and wife Rose, Jaimes Coelho and wife Barbara, a niece: Debbie Coelho-Thompson and husband Steve and many cousins. Richard was preceded in death by a brother: Salvatore Giaimis, a sister: Jenny Coelho and her late husband Robert. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at Gower Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. , 1426 Route 209, Gilbert. Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on December 6, 2023 at the age of 95. She left our world peacefully, happy to go to God's arms. Cecelia was born to Patrick McCarrick and Maria Henry McCarrick on March 20, 1928 in Cloonacool, Tubbercurry, County Sligo, Ireland. She was the fifth of 12 children, growing up in a small but happy home. . She emigrated to America in the 1950's, joining her sisters, May, Agnes and Kathleen and her brothers John and Tom. She was married to Michael Kerin on February 6, 1960 until he passed away in December 2013. They enjoyed many wonderful years together in Woodlawn, Bantam Lake Connecticut and Trinity Florida. Cecelia is survived by her 5 children - Anne Morrison (James), Sheila Fox (John), Michael Kerin (Lisa), Eddie and Mary Phillips (Jack). Her grandchildren adored her and she adored them - Jack, Keri Anne (Billy) and Jaimie Morrison, Lauren (Glenn), Lisa (Dan) and Megan Fox, Valerie and Will Kerin, and Jack, Michael and Luke Phillips. She felt very blessed that she lived to love her great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as "Maw" - Billy and Emily Cash and Sydney and Riley Roche. She is also survived by her sister Kathleen and brother-in law Jack Lynch of Throggs Neck and sister Francie McGlinchey of County Tyrone, and sister-in-law Anne McCarrick of County Sligo, Ireland. Her many nieces and nephews who she loved also survive her. And we could never forget her wonderful friends of Seven Springs, Florida where she and Mike spent their retirement years. Cecelia had great faith and lived her life to the fullest. She was the life of the party - always ready with jello shots, whiskey sours, jokes and songs and of course her Louis Armstrong imitation.
