Maria Blomseth Obituary

Maria T Blomseth, 91, of Los Gatos, CA, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 3, 2023. Maria Trinidad was born October 8, 1931 to Manuel Rodarte and Bonifacia Lares on a ranch in San Jose del Terrero, Zacatecas, Mexico. She was raised by her aunt and uncle in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. She had a wonderful education with a governess who helped her become fluent in many languages including English, French, and Italian. She is survived by her sisters Maria and Irene; her brothers Joaquin and Rafael; her son Rich Blomseth and his wife Ginny Blomseth; her three grandchildren Kevin Blomseth and wife Wan Blomseth, Kyle Blomseth and wife Danielle Blomseth, and Keith Blomseth; and her three great grandchildren, Holly Blomseth, Tyler Blomseth, and Lily Blomseth. Maria met her future husband Arthur while she was working as a translator at Torreon International Airport in Mexico and Arthur was passing through the airport. They married and Maria moved to California, leaving behind her beloved home in Torreon. Maria and Arthur had a wonderful life in Millbrae, Cupertino, San Jose, and Los Gatos, where they raised their son Rich and poodles Mignon and Mignon II. Maria was devoted to her family and was always dedicated to her family's happiness and well-being. Maria enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and dogs. Her favorite reading was poetry, including French, Spanish, and English poetry. She had an unmatched green thumb. She would care for any flowers, plants, or trees she found in her garden or received as gifts, and to this day has a house and yard full of abundant plant life that she has nurtured for decades. Maria will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy that will endure the ages.
