Joe is survived by his loving wife, Mercedes “Sadie”; son Raulin; parents Michael and Kelly; siblings, brother Shane (Brittany); niece Paisley and sister Georgia (Nick Traffie); as well as many other loving family and friends. Joe is preceded in death by his grandmother-in-law Kathy Peterson, grandparents Warren and Ellen Carlson, Gerald and Marian McNabb, aunt Patricia and uncle Jay McNabb and cousin Edward Kieger. Joe had the confidence, the heart, and the know-how to make anywhere feel like home. Rev. Wolfgang Gerhard Kuss

Rev. Wolfgang Gerhard Kuss, 93, passed away on February 3, 2024, at Woodbury Health Care Center. He was born March 22, 1930, to Paul and Helene Kuss in Leipzig, Germany. Kuss grew up during the years of the Third Reich that led to World War ll. He and his family survived the war and lived for five years thereafter under Soviet occupation when the part of Germany in which they lived was ceded to the USSR, becoming East Germany. After completing his education to become an optician, he escaped to West Germany, and from there immigrated to America in 1952, following his sister. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a new American citizen. Kuss resumed his trade as an optician after returning to civilian life, working in collaboration with Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN to provide artificial eyes. He established his own firm, Midwest Eye Laboratories Inc., in 1986. After retiring from his business in 1999, he became increasingly active in his church, Destiny Christian Center in Burnsville, MN. He eventually passed his roles in various church ministries into younger hands but continued to teach a weekly Bible study. He is survived by two nephews, John H. Ward (Faith) of Becker, MS; Rolf G. (Sheila) of River Falls, WI; niece, Heidi E. Ward of Oakdale, MN; and grand-nephews and nieces, Dr. J. Matthew Ward (Sarah) of Quincy, IL; Alicia Ward of Saltillo, MS; Eric Ward of St. Paul, MN; and Annie Ward of Eau Claire, WI. A celebration of life service for Wolfgang will be held at Spirit of Life Bible Church, 690 Commerce Drive, Woodbury, MN, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 24.

Virginia K (Ginny) Stockwell

Virginia K (Ginny) Stockwell died peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by family on February 4. Just shy of 97, Ginny was one of four children born in St. Paul to Eleanor and Stanard Kinkead. She had a happy, loving childhood. She graduated from Summit School and Pine Manor Junior College, then studied Plant Pathology at University of Minnesota. She worked at the Minnesota Historical Society before marrying Richard S Stockwell from Belmont, MA. Ginny loved the outdoors and spent long hours tending her flower and vegetable gardens alongside raising her four children and a myriad of pets. She had many hobbies and skills such as canning, bread-making, sewing, knitting, embroidery, weaving, pottery, and tennis; was involved with the Junior League, the Women’s Club, the P.E.O., the Shubert Club, and several others; and participated in several book clubs, dance clubs, and choirs. Ginny and Dick spent nearly 40 winters in Arizona alongside longtime Minnesota friends, where they joined the local Presbyterian Church and hiking club, and developed a deep love of the desert rocks, colors, plants and wildlife. Together with friends, they also explored the world through boat tours and Elderhostel adventures. Sweet Ginny was kind and thoughtful, always putting others before herself. She had a good life, and the bright light of her presence will carry on in all who knew her. Ginny is survived by sisters-in-law Judy Kinkead (St. Paul) and Martha Eaton (Waterford, ME); her four children and their partners Mary & Ian Lindridge (Woodbury MN), Rick and Lisa Stockwell (Durango CO), Sally Stockwell (Cumberland ME), and Dorothy and Kim Lyons (Olympia WA); eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Vida Miles

Vida Miles was born July 27, 1925, in Valdasta, Texas. She was the sixth child of eight children of John and Sally Greer. She grew up in the McKinney, TX, area, and graduated from Merit High School in Merit, TX. Immediately after graduation she moved to Pasadena, CA, to work in a defense plant as “Rosie the Riveter.” She married Feby Lewis Miles 1944. Lewis was in the US Navy at the time. After World War II they moved to Borger, TX, where Lewis worked for Phillips Petroleum. Vida attended Borger Business College and worked for many years in the accounting department at the Borger News Herald. In 1965 Lewis and Vida purchased the Sears Roebuck store in Pawhuska, OK. They operated the Sears store until retirement in 2013 when they moved to Presbyterian Homes Stonecrest in Woodbury, MN, to be near their family. She enjoyed her time at Stonecrest where she enjoyed cards and bingo with many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis, her parents, and her four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Janice Miles Grizzell, son-in-law Paul Grizzell, granddaughter Ashleigh Grizzell and her husband Jeff Grizzell, and grandson Nicholas Grizzell and his wife Sara Baig. She is also survived by her great-grandson Miles Grizzell, who called her GG. The family is grateful to Vida’s many special friends at Stonecrest and to Stonecrest staff for providing a wonderful living environment. They are also grateful to Allina Health Hospice and Palliative Care for the care provided in Vida’s last months of life. Donations in Vida’s memory can be made to Presbyterian Homes or Allina Health Hospice and Palliative Care. Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Visitation one hour prior to service, from 10 - 11 AM at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd., Woodbury, MN 55125. Robert E. Nordstrom "Nordy", age 77 of Woodbury, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, Jan. 30th 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. Robert's parents, Earl and Helen, who preceded him in death, raised him in St. Paul, where he met his loving wife Linda, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage. He is survived by wife Linda Nordstrom, their children Christina (Dan Bates) and Jill Nordstrom, his brother, Ralph (Pam) Nordstrom, their children and many more family and dear friends. A gathering will be held at Wulff Woodbury Funeral Home 2195 Woodlane Drive, Woodbury, MN on Sunday, Feb. 18th 2024 from 1-4pm. Robert was a skilled tradesman and a member of Local 455 Pipefitters Union since 1972. He worked in the field as a pipefitter, instructed welding, and from 1992 until 2010 instructed the Local 455 Day School Pipefitter Apprentice Program at St. Paul TVI, now St. Paul College. He was an instructor through the UA at both Purdue University and Michigan University. Robert was a member of both NSRA and MSRA, participating in car shows year round and loved working on hot rods and classic cars with close friends. He loved being in nature, fishing, and hunting best of all. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children or to charity of choosing.

Ryan, Beverly L “Bev” (nee Mitchell) age 93 (born February 26, 1930) of Woodbury passed away surrounded by family on February 1, 2024. Preceded in death by husband, Bob, daughters, Sheila and Julie; sisters, Shirley, Anita, and Phyllis. Survived by children, Thomas (Kim), Tim (Nancy), Jeff, and Connie O’Donnell (Pat), grandchildren; Ryan (Gabby), Garrett (Cassie), Brandon, Mitchel and Lindsay; great grandsons, Gentry, Carter and Bennett; many nieces and nephews and special kitty, Whiskers. Bev lived in Mahtomedi until 1942, when the family moved to St. Paul. She was a Johnson High School graduate Class of ’48 . Bev met Bob in 1947, and they married in 1951. They raised their family in St. Paul and White Bear Lake. Bev enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading books, knitting, gardening, spending time at the lake, watching sports (especially the Timberwolves) and going to the dog and horse races and casino. Mass of Christian burial Monday February 12th, 11 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4125 Woodbury Drive, Woodbury. Colleen Dale Roberts, age 75, of Woodbury, Minnesota was reunited with the love of her life, Dennis on February 2nd. Colleen loved her family and helping others. Her happy place was spending the winters in Arizona. She found joy in baking and cooking for her family and friends. Who is going to make potato salad now? Colleen enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, but mostly spending time with family and friends. She was a loving and caring mom and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters; Holly (Thomas), Sondra (Roger), and Tonya (Josh), her grandchildren; Nick (Jill and Gavin), Corey (Kelena), Alex, Zack, Zoe, and Tyler, her siblings Kelly (Marci), Corrine, Cathy (Rick) and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Dennis, grandson Nic, father and mother (Harry and Stella), mother and father in-law (Ernest and Tracy) and brother in-law Denny.
