Patricia “Pat” Roche, 94 years young of West Palm Beach passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 24, 2024, surrounded by her children. Originally from Davenport, Iowa, she was a resident of Palm Beach County since 1970. Pat and her husband, Jack, were founding members of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church and she was a parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church for the last 25 years. After attending Barry College, now Barry University in Miami, Pat moved to Chicago to begin her fashion career. She was there briefly until she met her husband, Jack. Her first date with him was at Davenport Country Club for a round of golf, which was the beginning of their courtship, followed by 57 years of a beautiful marriage. They went on to live around the world as Jack honorably served our country in the United States Air Force for 30 years. Pat was a fashion icon and entrepreneur. Combining business acumen with an eye for fashion, she cofounded Via Condotti, a private label ladies’ boutique with locations in Palm Beach, Manalapan, North Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens. She enjoyed designing, manufacturing, buying and staying ahead of the trending styles. Pat was an avid gardener, golfer, swimmer, card player, and fitness enthusiast well into her nineties. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, but most of all she was a friend to everyone. Pat is survived by her 5 children, John R. Roche, Jr. (Melody), of New Smyrna, FL, Michael J. Roche, of Jupiter, FL, Kathleen Reilly (Bill), of Lutz, FL, Patricia Mayne (Steve), of Montgomery, TX, and Carrie Hullihan (Tim), of North Palm Beach, FL; 10 grandchildren John R. Roche, III, Michael J. Roche, Jr., Mark Roche (Kayla), Will Reilly (Ashley), Brian Reilly (Rachael), Christopher Mayne (Kristi), Stephanie Mayne, Ryan Hullihan, Ethan Hullihan, and Matthew Hullihan; 3 great grandchildren Jackson, Summer, Maeve and many nieces, nephews, close friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jack, her sister Mary McCarthy, 4 brothers Bud, Jim, Jack and Bill McCabe, and granddaughter Meghan Reilly. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, 2024, from 5 p.m until 7 p.m. at Howard Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 754 US Highway One, North Palm Beach, with a rosary beginning at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. Clare Catholic Church with Rev. Nicholas Zrallack officiating. Further services and interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Salvation Army, St. Clare Council of St. Vincent DePaul, c/o The Parish Office, or Ibis Charities Foundation - Military.

Mervin Hoxsie Browning, Jr., 76, died February 28, 2024 at a West Palm Beach, Florida hospital. He was born in Wakefield, RI, the youngest of six children. His parents were Mervin Hoxsie Browning and Mary Frances (Harvey) Browning. Merv graduated from South Kingstown High School, Class of 1966 and Rhode Island School of Electronics in 1968. Following graduation he served with the U.S. Air Force and then the RI Air National Guard as a Master Sergeant for twelve years. He was the loving husband of Sharon Ann Giarrusso from Providence, RI. They lived in Warwick, RI for 29 years before moving to West Palm Beach, FL in 2001. They were happily married for 51 years. Merv was a biomedical engineering technician at the VA Medical Center in Providence, RI for 29 years, transferring in 2001 to the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida where he retired in 2004. He was President of the VA Bowling League and the Whirlaways Square Dancing Club. He was a coach and manager for many years for Warwick American Little League and Warwick PAL Baseball. He is survived by his loving daughter, Tracey Browning, MD of Suffield, CT and her husband, Robert Peskin, MD; and his loving son, Mervin H. Browning, III and his wife, Gina (Baglini), of West Greenwich, RI. He was the grandfather of Nathan and Benjamin Peskin and Claire and Elizabeth Browning. He was the brother of Grace Wise of Dorset, VT, Martha McDonald of Greene, RI, Peregrine Tripp Browning of Westerly, RI and the late Mary Browning and Margaret Caswell of Wakefield, RI. A funeral mass will be held at a later date, to be determined, at St. Ignatius Loyola Cathedral Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

William “Bill” Francis Kalil, 88, passed away in West Palm Beach, FL on February 27, 2024. He was born on August 11, 1935 to the late Wardi and Laba Kalil in West Palm Beach, FL. Bill was preceded in death by a brother, George Kalil. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Grady, Rosanne Bush, Jeanne Kalil and brother, Tom Kalil. Bill graduated from Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, GA in 1953. He served in the Army from 1954-1957 (Korean War era) as an aircraft mechanic. Bill graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the top 10 of class, in 1958, with an Aircraft & Power Plant License. Delta Air Lines hired Bill in 1959 as a mechanic and he moved to Atlanta, GA. He learned how to fly while being a mechanic, earned all his pilots ratings and gained experience. Delta hired Bill as a pilot in 1967. Bill proved himself to be a great asset and well respected pilot for Delta. He flew, at least, 10 different aircraft models to countless cities and countries around the world. (He did this without any violations or mishaps.) Bill retired from Delta Air Lines in 1995. Bill moved from Atlanta back to West Palm Beach, FL in 2022. The Family will hold a Graveside Service at 12:00, on Friday March 8, 2024 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in West Palm Beach, FL.
