Margaret "Peggy" Brenan Till, 92, was received into the loving arms of her Savior on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at her home. Born in Tiona, PA, on September 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Vivian Ray Brenan and Katharyn Morrison Brenan. Peggy, an RN, spent most of her life as a nurse. In her early years of experience, Peggy faithfully worked for Project Hope on their ship, the SS Hope. She spent time stationed in Lima, Peru, where she fell in love with the local culture. She later stayed in Lima to help teach up and coming nurses in Peru. Diving headfirst into the Peruvian culture and her love of dance, Peggy and her Peruvian dance partner won a local dance competition doing the Marinera, Peru's national dance. Peggy held onto her love of dancing and the Peruvian culture for the remainder of her life. Those who knew Peggy knew she had an artistic side. She would attend art classes all over in order to master her skills. Peggy was wonderful with watercolor painting. With each stroke of her brush, she was able to make each painting come alive. She had many commissioned pieces and sold art work all over Eastern North Carolina. Peggy also enjoyed writing. She enjoyed poetry, but her favorite genre was children's stories. Peggy was a member of the Goldsboro Writers Group. On Sundays, she could be seen getting the paper and turning straight to the puzzle section with the comics to follow shortly after. Peggy loved doing puzzles or anything that would keep her mind sharp. Peggy also found a great sense of joy and relaxation tending to her beautiful flowers andgardens. Peggy loved her church, First Presbyterian in Goldsboro. She served as a prayer warrior and inspired many children through her teaching of watercolors. She was an active volunteer in many areas of the church and was honored with the Outstanding Older Adult Award. She sang in the choir for 40 years, singing praises to her Lord and Savior. Each Sunday, Peggy could be seen with a big smile on her face. In 1966, Peggy married the love of her life, John Till III. Over the course of John's career in the military, Peggy was right by his side with each move they had to make and was active in the Officers Wives' Club. They were able to travel to many different places together and start their family. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and each moment spent together was a cherished memory. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Peggy Till will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11:00 a. m. at First Presbyterian Church in Goldsboro with Pastor Noe Juarez presiding. The family will receive friends following the service. Peggy is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Fredrick Till III; daughter Heather Till and her husband Perry Smith. Peggy is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was an avid lover of animals and leaves behind her special canine friend Maggie and feline friend Missy. In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her siblings Bob Brenan (Margie), Betty Pierce (Jake), and Jack Brenan (Beverly). In lieu of flowers, memorials to Peggy may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Goldsboro. Services have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home. Having fought the good fight while keeping the faith, Raymond Vinson, finished his race on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Raymond was born in Greene County to the late Leslie Raymond Vinson and Nell Hagan Vinson on March 5, 1943. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister earlier this month, Kaye Vinson Smith. Raymond was a quiet and sometimes intimidating man when he first met someone. Raymond started working with A&P Grocery Store as a young man before becoming a valued employee of Convenient Glass Service, Inc. When Raymond retired, he was serving as a glass specialist and vice president of the company. If you wanted to see Raymond relaxing and enjoying life, you would find him at the race track. He loved the outdoors and never would miss a race. While Raymond could be quiet and what some may call a bit stubborn, he was a completely different person with his grandchildren. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them and they made his day every moment he could spend with them. But all knew, as much as he loved his children and grandchildren, the one who captured his heart would be his forever love, Betsy. Raymond's enjoyment of life and his deep love for his family will be missed. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 6:30 - 8:00 p. m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Raymond's life at 8:00 p. m. in the chapel with Pastor Bill Rose officiating.
