| | Margaret (Patty) Ann Sorensen, 82, of Charles Town, WV, passed away suddenly at her residence on Monday, June 20, 2022. Patty was born August 5, 1939 in Harve de Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late William J. Ansalvish and Francis M. (Griffin) Ansalvish. Patty was an exemplary student and graduated with top honors from Harve de Grace High School and Strayer Business School. She retired from the Federal Government having spent her career working for the CIA and GSA. Patty is survived by her two children, a son, William (Bill) Sorensen of Charles Town; a daughter, Anne Brager and husband, Don of Boydton, Va. and three beloved grandchildren, William Sorensen Jr, Joseph Dumer and Kevin Dumer. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and one grandchild Daniel Sorensen. Patty loved being a grandmother and devoted her retirement years to being fully present in her grandchildren's lives often hauling a carload for an afternoon trip to McDonalds, to wrestling practice or other afterschool activity. Long after the grandchildren were grown one of her biggest thrills was when one of their childhood friends would come up to her and say for example, "Hi, Kevin's Grandmother". Her loss will also be felt by her dearest friend Tina, whom she loved dearly and who gave her a place to spend her time connecting with the community where she lived. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 27, 2022 at 11:00 am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Washington, DC. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 2-4 pm at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
