"Margaret Ann Smith, 80, of Heidelberg, was called to her Heavenly home on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born December 28, 1942. Visitation will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 5 until 8 p. m. The service will be held at Corinth Baptist Church on Friday, September 15th at 10 a. m. and burial will follow at Bonner Cemetery. Brother Jamie Matthews will officiate. To know Ann was to know a fine example of a God-fearing woman. She owned every room that she walked into and captivated people with her big heart, smile, and compassionate nature. Ann touched the lives of so many and left behind a legacy in the nursing field. She was a graduate of Sandersville and South Mississippi Charity Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for over 46 years where the majority of her career was spent at South Central Regional Medical Center. She retired as a clinical coordinator. Ann was an active member of Corinth Baptist Church of Heidelberg. She was an avid sports fan of the New Orleans Saints and the Atlanta Braves. She enjoyed playing Phase 10 with her friends. Ann was a devoted follower of God and a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Margie Parker; brother, Thomas Parker; and sister, Dorothy Morgan. She is survived by her son, Roger Smith, Jr. (Gina); grandchildren, Reagan Smith and Rhett Smith; great granddaughter, Grace Smith; brother, Joseph Parker; and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. "Howard W. \u0026quot;Billy\u0026quot; Laird passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023, at South Central Regional Medical Center. Billy was eighty years old. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mearle Laird. He is survived by his wife, Kaye Welch Laird; daughters, Diane Barber (Gerald); Debbie Coffin; and Donna Adkins (Wade); grandchildren, Kayla Odom Kelly (Mark); Kristen Odom Oldham (Tim); Allie Odom Morgan (Max); Claire Coffin Bellipanni (Drew); Olivia Adkins; and Emily Coffin; great grandchildren, Norah Kelly; Mark Patrick Kelly; Liam Morgan; and Madeline Morgan; sisters, Sue Caroline Walters (Sonny); Linda McAlpin (Mack); and Jerry Laird (Martha), and a host of nieces and nephews. Billy was born in Laurel, MS, on March 11, 1943, and attended Shady Grove High School. He was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church. In his early years, he was a barber in Taylorsville and Soso. He retired from SRT in Laurel, MS. Billy loved his family and was married to his wife, Kaye, for sixty years. He was extremely proud and thankful for his precious grandchildren. His favorite hobbies were riding his Harley Davidson with close friends and cheering on his beloved baseball team, the Philadelphia Phillies. "Sharon Kay Bush, 67, of Laurel, MS went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 30, 2023. She was born on November 27, 1956 to Simeon F. Redd and Evelyn Pylate Redd of Laurel. Sharon graduated from RH Watkins High School in 1974 and continued her education at the Business School of Jones County Junior College. She worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Maxie, Clark \u0026amp; Casey and as an administrative assistant for Masonite Corporation and the City of Laurel. Sharon possessed a sweet spirit and loved her family and friends with all her heart. She enjoyed the wonders of nature experiencing simple pleasures like viewing sunsets and standing under a waterfall. She adored her pets and was kind to all. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Simeon F. Redd. She is survived by her mother, Evelyn Pylate Redd; sister, Lorraine Redd; brother, Stuart Redd (Kelly); her husband of 48 years, Jamie Bush; daughters, Lauren Nicole Bush and Amanda Kathryn Bush (Eric); grandchildren, Jaiden Mertens (Leiah), Molly Mertens, Kye Thompkins, Evie Huckabee; great grandson, Julian Mertens and many nieces and nephews. He was born on Tuesday, March 11, 1941, in Moss, Mississippi. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 1:00 p. m. until 2:00 p. m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel, 4593 Indian Springs Road, Laurel, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 2:00 p. m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Moss Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moss, Mississippi. Bro. He was a member and former president of the Southern Cruisers in Bay Springs, Mississippi. He enjoyed drag racing, building drag cars, fishing, but most of all grilling out and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of thirty-two years, Gladys Nell Sinclair Poore; father, William Poore; mother, Ella Fair Boone Poore; one grandson; and brother-in-law, James Laird.
