CONNEELYFEBRUARY 27, 1951 - FEBRUARY 20, 2024Colman Francis Conneely, 72, of Waxhaw, NC peacefully passed away on February 20, 2024, at Union County Hospice House after bravely battling pancreatic cancer for 18 months. Born February 27, 1951 in Galway, Ireland, Colman immigrated to the United States in 1975. On August 30, 1986, Colman married Michelle (Schelly) Conneely with whom he shared many cherished years. Together, they raised their beloved son, Chris M. Conneely (28), who resides in San Francisco, CA.With a storied career spanning continents, Colman dedicated himself to the hospitality industry early in his career while in Ireland, London, and Paris before immigrating to the United States. He began his career in the United States at Hyatt Hotels in Chicago. Hyatt took him to New York, Columbus, San Diego, Long Beach and Los Angeles as he worked his way up to General Manager. In 1990, he joined Stanford Hotel Group in San Francisco as General Manager and Regional VP, later moving to Charlotte, NC, to manage the Hilton Charlotte Uptown. His career spanned decades, culminating in his retirement in 2013.Beyond his professional achievements, Colman found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for wine collecting, golf, and sports, particularly soccer. He was an avid reader and most of all he enjoyed sharing his love of wine with friends and family. He cherished the moments spent walking with his beloved dog, Cooper.Colman was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick Conneely and Nora Walsh Conneely, as well as his brothers Paddy and John. He is survived by his loving siblings - Sister Mary Columba Conneely, Nora (Tommy) Mulkerrin, Tom Conneely, Martin Conneely, Michael (Anne) Conneely, Nancy McDonagh, Joe (Kathleen) Conneely, and Maggie (Larry) Lynch - nieces, and nephews, scattered across Ireland, Chicago and beyond.Colman Conneely's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. "Eileen Hall passed away at the age of 86 at White Oak of Waxhaw. She was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland to John and Frances Thompson. Eileen loved cooking, baking, bingo, animals of all kinds, but especially dogs. She was proud to be a mother to four sons and had a strong connection to her faith. She loved all her dogs dearly, Abbey, Blackjack, Apollo, and Munchkin. Eileen is survived by her children, John and his wife Jerri, Jeff and his wife Melanie, Mike and his wife Kim, David and his wife Tracy. Her grandchildren, Corey and his wife Deanna, Tanner, Andrew and his wife Allison, Alex and his partner Zach, Justin, Payton and her fiancé Corbin. Franklin Street, Monroe, NC 28112, with a visitation immediately following the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Presson was born July 16, 1941, in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Kermit A. and Ruth F. Rushing. She was also predeceased by her husband, James H. Presson, and brothers Charles Rushing and Alan Rushing. Mrs. Presson is survived by three sons, Bryan Presson and wife Paula of Greensboro, NC, Harold Presson and wife Karla of Mooresville, NC, and Stuart Presson of Waxhaw, NC; daughter Sara Presson Grant and husband Richard of Charlotte, NC; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Virginia Windsor of Marshville, NC, and Lillian Giles of Monroe, NC. After an early career in childhood education, Mrs. Presson retired from decades of service as a US Postal Service worker in Marshville, NC. Mary-Lynn was surrounded by her loved ones in the moments and days prior to her passing at the age of 80. Mary-Lynn is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Alan Parenteau, her dearest sons, of whom she was deeply proud; Robert (Andrea) of Carmel, IN, Daniel (Heather) of Waxhaw, NC, Jon (Kathryn) of Charlotte, NC, and her beloved grandchildren; Matthew, Jack, Will, Ally and Anna (Robert/Andrea), Austin, Jace, Zac, and Jud (Daniel/Heather), Caroline and Jake (Jon/Kathryn). Mary-Lynn is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Jon Parenteau. Mary-Lynn was born to Daniel Joseph and Anne Catherine (Parker) Cosgrove on January 28, 1943 in Cambridge, MA. The eldest of five siblings, sister to Daniel (Tina) Cosgrove of Ashburn, VA, Casey Johnson of Taunton, MA, preceded in death by Anne Pappas (Paul) and Stephen Cosgrove. Mary-Lynn was raised in Cambridge, MA and from a young age, put her family first. She attended Cambridge High & Latin and graduated in 1960 from Oliver Ames High School in Easton, MA. Mary-Lynn continued her education at Chandler School for Women In Boston, MA. Mary-Lynn and Alan married on December 6, 1969 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Easton, MA. They went on to create a warm, supportive, and close-knit family home for their sons in Acton, MA, where they lived for 41 years. Mary-Lynn was a loving, dedicated wife, a caring, protective and inspiring mother, and an adoring grandmother, her grandchildren affectionately call, “Mimi.” She was humble, passionate and faithful in every aspect of her life. Deeply supportive of her children and grandchildren in their academic studies and athletic pursuits, Mary-Lynn was honest, fair, funny if not a bit snarky, strong in her convictions, and unwavering in her devotion. Instilling a signature competitiveness and drive in her children, Mary-Lynn found joy in attending swim meets, golf matches and baseball games, encouraging them to always do their absolute best, and be strong in the face of adversity. With a meticulous attention to detail, throughout her life she enjoyed knitting & sewing, as well as keeping an immaculate home. After years of being out of the formal workforce raising her family, Mary-Lynn had the determination to achieve her real estate license in her 40's. She went on to be a passionate, successful real estate broker for York Associates and Acton Real Estate. She prioritized time with family and close friends above everything, and had fond memories of Tuesday Scotchies at Maynard Country Club, summer days at the pool, and going out to Friday night dinners at the 99 or Crossroads with Al. Mary-Lynn was a longtime member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Acton, MA. Mary-Lynn and Alan became members of Providence Country Club in 2016, and moved to Waxhaw, NC with children and grandchildren nearby for gatherings at a moments notice. Mary-Lynn leaves a legacy of love, dedication and perseverance that will live on in the lives of her family and all who knew her well. Mary-Lynn will be remembered as an extraordinary wife and mother, a sincere and loyal friend, a woman of strength and fortitude who made her marriage, family and faith the center of her life. The family would like to extend many thanks to the Doctors & Nurses at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center in Matthew, NC for their exceptional care of Mary-Lynn at the end of her life. A private service is planned at Acton Funeral Home followed by burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
