Phyllis Darlene Brining (Wyand), 79, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 25, 2023. Born January 28, 1944 in Martinsburg, WV, to the late Elmer Evers" Bud" Wyand and Alice Cave Wyand. Phyllis was loved by all; to know her was to love her. She was a 1962 graduate of Boonsboro High School. She was a distributor for Home Interior & Gifts, Inc. for 31 years. She ran a thriving business and mentored many distributors over the years. Many of her past customers remember the extra touch she gave to each of their homes. She was employed by EPIC of Berkeley County School for 17 years transporting children. Each child she transported over the years held a special place in her heart. She was a member of Shenandoah Bible Baptist Church and nursery worker for many years. She adored all children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phyllis is survived by the love of her life and devoted husband, Earl "Les" Brining of 61 years; three daughters, Penny Myers, Leslie Rogers and husband Mark, of Martinsburg, WV, and Alison Roberts and husband Sam, of Shenandoah Junction, WV; nine grandchildren, James and Corey Gano, Erin Myers, Casie (Rogers) Adams, Emily (Rogers) Merson, Sammy, Brady and Andy Roberts, Jaidyn Myers; seven great grandchildren and sister Victoria Cline and husband Robert Cline of Falling Waters, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her son-in-law Scott Myers, brother-in-law Charles "Walter" Brining (Beulah), Robert Unger (Elsie), and Kenneth Unger. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, WV. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Brown Funeral Home with Pastor John Woullard and William "Bill" Stanley officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery of Martinsburg, WV. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of the Panhandle. James Michael Sowers "Mike", 64, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, passed away on November 13, 2023, with his wife by his side. He was born on February 1, 1959 in Alexandria, VA to the late Milton F. Sowers, Sr. and Frances A. (Nixon) Sowers. Mike graduated from Brentsville High School in 1978, where he exceled in baseball and basketball. He then went on to have a lasting career in Management and Courier Services. He thoroughly enjoyed being with his family, playing with his grandchildren, golfing, bowling, watching sports, and having family cookouts. He also always looked forward to the family's annual beach vacations. Mike was a devoted father and pop-pop who always filled the room with laughter. He had a beautiful, goofy soul that left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He never hesitated to offer a helping hand, give advice or offer a corny joke when needed. He was a die-hard Redskins fan that always enjoyed yelling at the tv screen and taking a shot of Jack Daniels with his children when they won. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his two brothers, Milton Sowers, Jr. and Sammy Sowers. Mike was the beloved husband of Donna Sowers, loving and devoted father of Elizabeth DeLeon and her husband Brandon, Jonathan Sowers and his wife Megan, Ashley Haynes and her husband Josh, Brooke Sowers and her boyfriend Austin, proud grandfather of Layla, Briella, Graham, Abby, Stella, and expected granddaughter Zilyana, brother of Tom Sowers, Robbie Sowers , Angie Scott, Liz Porter , Debbie Painter, Dee Lilly and Brenda Elmore.
